I wonder where 2/3 gap is on the beast? If might be good for 17mm of excursion, just a rough estimate.

This is the way...

Anyone have a WinISD file built for it already lol....

I’m lazy and would rather have someone email it to me.

Curious how it compares to the 21” Lavoce SAN

Ts parameters are a little off from PE. They are higher Q and want a larger box. Quick model in sealed suggests a bit more output between 20-100hz, and less output below 20hz. That's motor.

Similar to the JBL's, I would think these would excel nearfield behind the couch in smallish boxes, sealed.

Stats in the doc don‘t look impressive, but it‘s probably gonna be a nice value driver. 11mm xmax, total Q of 0.34 so it‘ll want a bigger box than the DS115 for example while being less efficient and having lower output capabilities.
Will be interesting to see how it compares in cost per performance, but I prefer performance per volume.

Interesting. I've heard about a 21" version of the PA460 and this isn't it. Hopefully that is still coming.

Yeah not looking at a horn. In a ported box it doesn’t do so hot compared to either the SAN or UM18

11 mm xmax at 70% BL, so I expect it'd be pretty soggy at 17mm.

As Mocs said, I have also been waiting for a 21" version of the PA460. However, I suspect this is it. I'm interested.

Sure, it might not have as impressive numbers as the B&C and Lavoce equivalent, but remember, this is a made-in-China version of those. I'm sure many were skeptical about the PA460 @ $99 when it first came out.

I'm looking forward to seeing some graphs/models of this new 21" compared to others. Both sealed and ported. All of my subs are ported, but if this 21" does better in sealed, I'm willing to try it.

Looks like it displaces about 2.5x the pa460 going by official xmax specs and not doing the avsforum round up (6mm is spec but it's a strong motor and nearly gets to 10, which is most of the way to 15, which isn't that far from 25.4 so about an inch each direction clean)

Doesn't this seem way overpriced...? I mean we're at a um18 price point now. Seems like this driver should be sitting at about $200 for the bang for the buck to be there (at least comparatively to the cost to performance ratio we see with the Pa460).

Thoughts...?

No, this speaker, like the 460, is made for pro audio bass reinforcement. These weren’t intended for ULF, though can do it, but their mid bass and upper frequency cut off is MUCH higher than the UM18 would be.

This looks to be a considerable upgrade over the 460. Price is pretty good I think, especially compared to the Lavoce.
