B&C ME7055 Gigantic Horn

Sooo, I heard you guys like big horns and so do I. B&C made a post on their social media platforms announcing a large horn specifically made for their top of the line HF/MF coax driver DCX464. From the looks of it, the target market could be cinemas/auditoriums or maybe even a bone for the DIY crowd, as large scale PA is nothing but line-arrays anymore.
It looks similar to the prototype test horn used for the initial DCX464 tests, which has a 1.4" entry and loads down to 320Hz.

Maybe @bennettprescott wants to tell us a little more about it, be it now or be it in a few days/weeks

I'm sorry, did you say it's good down to 320hz?

It’s not wide enough to provide directional 320hz but you’ll get 320hz from it.

Maybe at low levels but it's not big enough to load fully down to there. When I built the A290s, I saw measurements showing that low, but they sounded awful until I changed the xover to 600.
Pity it's not a 2"as I have some BMS4590s I'd like to have a use for.

When looking at the DCX464 measurements in the prototype horn you can see that the knee is at around 400Hz. Also, keep in mind that unless you're using something like an 8th order crossover, you'll need/want decent usability below the crossover point as well, which is why I generally try to have at least half an octave of useful bandwidth there.
The bad thing about pushing crossover higher is that you'll get more issues with lobing, unless you cut holes into the sides of the horn and make it a synergy build. Might be worth a try, who knows
Maybe I'll just replicate something with plywood and see for myself when I'm bored!
