Ok so I have a pretty decent set up. MY theater is dedicated 16x24 basement. I like it is cool but ghetto.... so I currently have 2 sub boxes each is 2 12" MTX subs I have great bass but I want low hair shaking base. Feel the U571 punch. I have a small DIY budget. It needs not to make any sound. I have that covered. My space restraints are almost none..... And WAF well I can cover it and or hide it in the room, and its ok if it sets out as long as it servers a purpose its all good. Where do I look for info on the type of specific thing...? Threads sites etc. Are there any particular designs that work well for the infrasonic realm?

Thanks

What exactly are you asking for? Do you want a new sub setup entirely....or some bass shakers in your seat?

Give us a number (for your budget).

"small" is relative...which is the point I was making. It would be much easier if "small" was quantified.

I want to setup a sub just for infrasonic. I have none in my current setup and feel it is missing (the wife doesn't agree) Small budget = a few hundred. NOT 10k lol That is a cool fan tho. I was at a theater meet and the guy had a sub that during WoTW it would move the hair on your head with the infrasonic bass. Thats what im looking for. I hope i described it well.

/just guessing

I think your theater experience moving hair on your head probably cost more
than a few hundred bucks. There are car audio installs with many monster
woofers and kilowatts of amps, inside the tight spaced car, that can do the hair
movement trick, but it does cost a bit of money to reach that goal unless you
have some five finger discounts on products.

I think a huge horn loaded subwoofer can probably achive this goal using
inexpensive drivers and low powered amps, but then you will spend
alot of money on building materials vs. the simpler monster woofers & amps
that cost more than your budget.

I don't think there is a really cheap way to make this work well, you can
try and make some subwoofer test boxes and determine if the results are
ok.

Do you want the scalp tingling bass or the real hair trick (the hair trick starts at 46 seconds into the video)? Both cost more than a couple of hundred. The real hair trick is much more expensive.

Moving that kind of air takes a lot of spl, just add multiple box subs or a bass horn if that all you care about.

If you wanted to achieve this with actual drivers, whatever you ended up with would far outclass your dual MTX 12" subs. But your budget is too small. Just go with shakers.

Well I certainly appreciate the responses. They are, as usual on par with the caliber and nature of the ppl of the forum. Helpful and knowledgable. I see that the effect I want to achieve is beyond my current budget constants. I have seen videos of bass blowing out windshields, this isn't the effect i want, im looking for something more subtle. As i currently have 6 Aura pros in the theater seats, Ill have to add 3 to my personal recliner and try and shake it apart! :)

Thanks for the help,
