I assume some, or most, of you have heard of these but I didn't see a post about them - so here we go:

https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraud...dex.shopscript

I know they are the "dreaded" car audio drivers, but some of them model fairly well in home enclosures and IB (especially the 18"s :D )

Talk amongst yourselves...

These drivers look very usable for HT. I e-mailed scott a few questions about the motors, and inductance parameters etc.

I was looking at the JL Audio 18w3 18" driver... It looks really classy with the finish..

WinISD shows it -3db at 21hz 337L ported box tuned to 19hz

113db @ 25hz ; 111db @ 20hz ; [email protected] 15hz ; 90.34 @ 10hz all at 250w (listed at 500w @ 2 and 4 ohm versions)

That is if I put in the data correctly that was listed on their site... 337L is a rather large box no?

It doesnt look bad, but not that great either.

Scott is a great guy. He was the principle behind some of the best "bang for the buck" drivers in the last decade - Blueprint. His new drivers should be very good.

Besides Blueprint, he's responsible for Resonant Engineering subs and the buildhouse Destijl Engineering (formerly FRC Soundworks).

The Fi Audio drivers have the prices posted. With shipping! Still there, on the site.

Is that what you meant?

Cool. That explains why they look very similar to Ascendant audio's last generation of drivers.

There have been a few guys over at the cult forum looking at these drivers for IB use with the 18". Not bad looking drivers & shipping is included :)
