my 2 channel towers are a little shallow on the lower midrange and a little harsh on the high midrange. i thought about redoing crossover(don't really know where to start with crossovers) so i removed the speaker terminal plate and the crossover looks fairly high quality. its a three way speaker, any suggestions on where to start? i can post pics if it will help, also, how do i make my pics show up in body instead of as attachments?

You'll need to know the model of the drivers used so you can use the specs to redesign a crossover. Of course the drivers may just be bunk in the first place. What speakers are these?

At a guess from the description I would say the x-over has no baffle step correction.

Do a google search on "baffle step compensation" and you'll find a wealth of information.

Probably 2 things: midrange crossed too high or too shallow (or both) and no/to little BSC. Could be more issues beyond that.

the speakers may be bunk, i don't know. they are sony transmision line towers( ss-tl4 can be seen in crt theater gallery). i cant find any info on them anywhere. im afraid i may have to reverse engineer the xover and play with cutoff's.
