Need help putting together an outside thearter

Hi -

I would really like to sit outside with the kids and watch classic movies next summer. To do it I know I will need a projector ($1,000 or less), but what else?

I have a TiVo Bolt, Denon 4300H Heos AVR and two Omni directional Tic GS 's that are in ground out by the pool (where I want to watch movies) and hard wired to the AVR via Zone 2. Basically I can play anything from the Tivo on the outdoor speakers....

The question is, how does this all go together? How do you guys pull it off?

Any help would be appreciated,

Nick

It's the same check list as an indoor theater or a TV. You need a display/projector, a sound system, and a source. The difference is that it's set up outside.

This is a great place to start for a projector and screen.

You need to decide what you want for a sound system. What you've listed should work ok. Sound systems range from a single monaural speaker, to stereo, streamed to headphones/small radios, and full 5.1 or 7.1 surround systems.

Questions to ask yourself are how much do you want to spend, do you want it to be portable and how portable, or a fixed installation.

Thanks for the reply. I guess what I really need to find out is if there is a projector that can connect to a Tivo Bolt wirelessly and if so, can video go from the Tivo to the projector while the audio goes to the AVR?

IOGEAR Wireless HDMI Digital Kit model number GW3DHDKIT or GW4K30KIT

The transmitter will accept two inputs with a pass through. Plug the Tivo HDMI into the transmitter with the pass through to the AVR. Attach the IOGEAR receiver to the projector HDMI input. Voilà! HD video to the projector and HD audio to the AVR.

Here's a link to IOGEAR. You can buy them at Best Buy, Amazon, etc.
