Super exciting!!! It's claimed to be the smallest full frame mirrorless camera, with 24MP BSI-CMOS sensor and L-mount. More info:

With Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG Art lens

Quote:

Sigma's new 35mm F1.2 DG DN Art is an ultra-fast semi-wide-angle prime lens for full-frame Sony, Panasonic and Leica mirrorless bodies. The lens, which Sigma claims can resolve over 50 million pixels, contains a total of 17 elements, including aspherical and 'SLD' glass. The minimum focus distance is 30cm (~11"), with a max magnification of 0.2x.
The 35mm F1.2 is fairly hefty, weighing over 1kg (2.4lbs) with a length of 136mm (5.4"). This is compared to the older 35mm F1.4 Art, which weighs 665g (1.5lb) and measures 94mm (3.7") in length. The filter ring of the new 35mm F1.2 is supersized too, at 82mm, thanks to that massive front element (see below).
The lens has an aperture ring that can be clicked or de-clicked, as well as a customizable AFL button. Build quality appears high, with a weather-sealed enclosure and a coating on the front element to repel oil and water.
The 35mm F1.2 DG DN Art lens will be available later this month, at an expected price of $1499 USD.

True. In a typical production environment when you add on the rods, rails, mattebox, and follow focus mechanism (who is ever going to trust this contrast detect only AF in in any sort of professional work?), being small here doesn't count much anymore. As for casual use, is any small and compact L-mount zoom available to go with this? Does the back screen even tilt? No sensor based stabilizer? Then good luck to ever find a lens with a reasonable balance with the body that has a IS system in it.

I honestly don't think this camera can go very far.

We'll be able to tell how good (or bad) it is when Hatch buys it and posts his first video from it! He does find it 'super exciting', so it won't be too long.

Current displays- LG 65C9, LG 77G7, LG 65B6

My budget is tighter than it was a few years back, smartphone image quality has vastly improved, and high-end image quality improvements have slowed since I purchased my kit (AX100, D4, RX1). I'm least happy with my RX1 as a travel camera so think I would probably spring for a pocketable full frame camera with a 100 DxO score and a collapsible 28mm lens. I'd probably also spring for an AX100 replacement with significantly improved image quality.
