I suspect the best route for final HDR delivery on this cam is very much like on most other cameras, recording in log gamma and color pace set to BT2020, which means the cameras have to be capable of recording at 10-bit 4:2:2 like this cam. Then you can easily change your mind and set the export output to standard Rec.709 to ensure full viewing compatability or just make an alternative copy of the same output content in Rec.709 in addition to the HDR copy.

I agree with this completely, and is the way I have always produced HDR videos (shooting Vlog or Slog2). This camera has Zlog2, 10bit. This HLG video is one of the worst I have ever produced, in part because I am not used to the camera.

Low-Light Test 2: Night Scenes

This is the best night scene performance I have seen from any camera I have used:

Most scenes have motion, so you can see I did not cheat by using a 1/30th shutter (1/60th). The lens f-stop was mostly f2.8, with some shots at f4 - so not a particularly fast lens.

I Said ProRes, so I Tried That (422 HQ at 850+ Mbps)

Little 1 TB Sandisk Extreme Pro external SSD attached by USB-C (and rubber band) to the E2C, hardly any added weight. Ipod Touch for touch screen control and focus and viewing (linked by WiFi, so no wire). I shot 109 GB's without a hitch. Here is an excerpt:

Looks great. I'm afraid I see a bit of jello, though; the sensor readout is evidently really slow and rolling shutter is evident even with light hand-held jitters. Stabilized MFT lenses are especially critical to have on this thing; Olympus 12-100mm f/4 owns the field, from my experience.

Here's what you want for the SanDisk (I have it too): LINK

The search function isn't working over at the private Facebook group; can you direct me to the advice/instructions on how to enable ProRes?

The file is here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rns...QVTdK0Z-GZQwzQ

That file goes in the MISC folder on the SSD. When you start up with that, you get all the ProRes options in the menu.

Upgrades Are Now Here: ZRAW, ProRes 422 HQ, 4KDCI

And still $799. No need for an external recorder to shoot in ProRes and RAW!

4KDCI H265:
