I Have Chosen My Rig for My Next Trip Abroad
The Canon M6 ii with the relatively tiny EF M 18-150mm and EF M 28mm f3.5 lenses. I needed a very compact set, good in low light and normal light. I have been trying it out and I am satisfied with AF, stabilization, and IQ. I have also settled on a Picture Profile - Technicolor (the company) Cinestyle, which is basically a log profile that maximizes dynamic range (I can also use Canon Clog3). On paper, the camera has lower rolling shutter than Sony, greater dynamic range than the Sony RX cameras and the GH5 (bigger sensor, so no surprise) and produces ok resolution in 4K. It sends uncompressed 10bit 422 4K via the HDMI port, but I will not be using that while traveling.
Cinestyle graded with the zoom lens:
Clog3 graded (using Canon's own Clog3 LUT) with the zoom:
Low light with the 28mm F2.8 lens (Cinestyle again):
