Sony FDR AX100 firmware install issue

I'm not sure what's the deal, I have tried everything to install the firmware update. I even made sure to follow the directions and confirmed that the USB mode is connected in mass storage mode. I saw someone here who had the issue back in 2015 which is what made me ask again to see if anyone had a fix. I decided to make a forum account and somehow lost the exact search reference post in here when I tried to sign in with google.

This is not an isolated incident either, I have tried to install the update on a MacBooks with current-gen it still is not working. I also have the same issue with my X3000 action camera. Both of the cameras, when connected, somehow cycle between connected and disconnected. It literally takes me unplugging them in order to make the error stop. Plugging them in also kicks off all my Bluetooth devices and USB drives. It's almost as the USB ports just continually disconnect and reconnect.

This is like my 2nd time this year trying to get this to work. Overall I have been at it since last year working to get these updates resolved. I would really appreciate any help that's relevant to this matter.

Looking forward to some awesome well thought out research and pointers on this issue, thanks for the support in advance.

Best,
SonicBoomin

• Tried windows OS
• multiple USB ports on Windows PC
• Tried switching to multiple cables that support data transfer
• Still currently scouring the vastness of the internet looking for a fix

Popping up another SOS signal out here in my capsule. Hopefully, I can get another ear and techxpert to this. Again, I found someone in this forum from 5 years back that had the nearest issue and apparently they never updated the issue to resolve it.

*****Update Success*****

Apparently, the update only will work with windows version and not through mac. You have to catch it in the task tray before it disappears. You will have to click on it to open it up and display the folder structure. The folder is named PMHOME. Use the windows side and the at should resolve it.
