Has anyone tried the above remotes on a newer LD450 (or 350/550) series? I purchased an RCA 6473N (none of the above remotes were available but this remote ist he exact same as the 4373N except it controls 6 devices vs 4) and the Guide button did nothing (didn't even light up IIRC).

Be careful in there! Change only the DivX setting or you may kill your set. I've also changed the Tuner Option setting safely to improve my broadcast reception. Settings take effect (almost) immediately upon change, no need to press any kind of enter key, so even cycling through parameters to see what's available can be very risky.

Yes, this happens on my 42LH40. It's worst for movie files (avi/mkv) with MPEG4 encoding, but still happens occasionally for .ts MPEG2 files. I think it is affected by the number of different on-screen menus which are shown before/during/after playing a movie. The basic idea to prevent reboots is to minimize the number of menus you use before and while playing movies. Here's what I do for most reliable playback:

- Before playing a movie power cycle the TV (turn it off and on again), then go straight into the USB menu.
- Navigate to your movie and start playing
- While playing avoid the FF/REW buttons and anything that pops up a menu (for example Energy Saver).
- To navigate around the movie use forward/back cursor to jump a few minutes in either direction, this seems to cause fewer reboots than FF/REW.
- After playing a movie power cycle the TV again before doing other things like watching TV channels or another movie. Especially if the menus are starting to look corrupted, your TV will probably reboot soon by itself anyway.

When I follow these instructions my TV never reboots during .ts (MPEG2) movies, even 1920 x 1080 HD, and playback smoothness and PQ are at their best.
Good luck,
G

Anyone knows of any compatibility issues between LG 32LF2500 and Toshiba Stor.E Art 500 GB HDD ?

I own this unlucky pair

The marriage started well, the TV was able to read from the HDD, but at some point it just refused, it doesn't even try to access it when they connect via USB, nothing shows up on the screen.

The HDD works JUST FINE when connected to my pc or laptop or digital cable receiver.

I have been formatting and repartitioned the drive several times and in several ways and combination, but no luck. I even tried a different USB cable.
The HDD has its own power source.

I had a somehow similar issue with a 8GB Corsair Voyager flash drive, when I was connecting it to the USB port, the TV would try to read it but give up and let me know it failed. But that got fixed after reformatting the stick using HP flash drive formatting tool.

CHANGE VVV TO WWW

Hi, I can't help you.
But I did these step on my 37LH3000:
3.63->3.15-> hack->3.55->3.65-> OK!!
I had 3.63 firmware version. I downgrade to 3.15, hacked and than upgraded to 3.55 (because I read I could have problem to upgrade from 3.15 to 3.63).
Than I found the 3.65 on LG Spanish website and I upgraded from 3.55 to 3.65.
Everything is working perfectly!!

Thanks

You may be able to recover the TV using the serial port and instructions quoted in this post:
https://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...4#post18500964

Also read the followup posts by Parkdean & me to see how the problem was fixed. Try loading 3.40 or 3.15 to recover, not 3.55 since that caused problems.

I have a LG LH5000.
Everything works fine from the usb (I converted my DTS encoded mkv files to AAC and the audio is working now aswell), except from the fact that I cannot use my CUSTOM av mode settings. This is really frustrating because the factory av mode settings are really not to my liking and I can't even turn the 100hz processing off, which makes movies look like talk shows. Is there a fix for this issue?
Thank you in advance,
Andrei Pavel.

Hi guys i have the UK model of the LG 26LH2000 and it has the v3.46 firmware on it. I have not seen v3.46 listed anywhere on this thread, can i downgrade it and upgrade it to v3.65? If it was bricked could i unbrick it? I have a pc with a serial port and a null modem cable. Would i need to do any soldering?

thanks.

Hi, first post here so hope it makes sense...

I just got my T.V on Saturday, (offered as an alternative at Argos) :-)

I have read elsewhere that the Tesco (Technika) remote can allow the MKV option? I have tried what they said but not getting the service menu.

The remote is the TR41R 4-in-1, I press the 'setup' button, then 'TV'' then type in 0119, power off, power on and hold 'setup' and '-/--' button together. This doesn't do anything for me, has anyone else tried it or offer any advice? Thank you

Hi..

I just bought a LG 22LU5000, it had FW 3.55 from 'birth'.

I did the downgrade to 3.15 did the menu hack to get USB, upgraded back to to 3.55 via FW downloaded.

The 'issue' is that now I get pixel errors on some Digital DVBC channels , not on all but on some.. I did not have this problem with the 'original/virgin' FW.. Can there be differences even though the version I patched with has the same version no? (3.55)..

I tried upgrading to the latest 3.66 but with the same result..

I was considdering doing the revert to factory fw, but when i do the remote sequence i get the upgrade page, here it states that I am now on FW 3.66 and I am upgrading to FW 0.00.00 hmmm that does not sound right does it?

ps. I live in Denmark (dont know if there can be 'national' versions of firmware?)..

Other than that excellent hack :-) Strange that they did not leave this feature in the shelf product?

If you have pixels or blocking check your coaxial cable, this can happen if lg did some changed to signal.

Perhaps you neither have a S60v3 Nokia Smartphone nor a Windows Mobile 5/6 device with IR port but, like me, you do have a PSP-1000 model.

There is a homebrew application for the PSP-1000 models that allows it to be used as a Universal Remote controller to reproduce the IR Hack.

The only requirements are:
-A PSP-1000 model on Custom Firmware (AKA unlocked). Newer PSP models will NOT work as they lack in the IR port. If your PSP-1000 is not unlocked, google "pandora battery" as this is a relatively simple process to do.

-The application Universal Remote v1.2. Remember this is a 1.5 Firmware application, therefore it needs installing into PSP/GAME150 in order to make work in Custom Firmware.
[http : // dl.qj.net/psp/homebrew-applications/psp-universal-remote-12.html]

-The winlirc compiled dump from the LG 105-201M service remote controller that includes the infrared impulses to open the EZ Adjust / IN-Start menu. [http : // w w w .pastebin.com/f4e0323b7]

For those interested I have prepared a ready-made pack with all that you need that can be downloaded from http : //www.multiupload.com/KH8VCSQODE
Just uncompress it into the memory card and execute it from the GAME menu of the PSP. Once loaded, press SELECT followed by SQUARE. This should load a profile that has every PSP button (D-PAD and Square, Triangle, Cross and Circle) already assigned to the EZ adjust command.
Press any of them while pointing the PSP to the LG TV and you should see the box to enter the password that will grant you access to the Service Mode.

Any questions just ask
