No it downloads all the stuff first and then you have to install it with another click.

Hey Guys!

Can someone confirm for me that the UN48H6350 only has a TS01 panel?
I was gonna grab this TV online but just want to make sure before I order it.

I've been going back and forth between the Samsung UN48H6350 and Sony KDL48W600B and going towards the Samsung for the better smart aspects. If anyone could give me a quick comparison it would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I just picked this up two days ago (the 24th) to replace my 2011 model UN55D7900 and I absolutely LOVE the picture quality and size. It absolutely dominates my living room and I feel like I'm in a movie theater. Note that I have just changed a few settings here and there till it looked "right".

However, I have noticed a few issues that I need some help resolving.

The first one is that my HDMI ARC isn't working. I have the Anynet stuff enabled, and ARC worked just fine with my older smaller TV. My AVR is a Yamaha RX-V375. Nothing changed except that I simply hung the 75 where the 55 was and connected the HDMI and power.

The second issue is that my HTPC, running Windows 7 and an ATI GPU (I want to say it's an R5 240) is having issues keeping the screen resolution when it comes out of sleep. It's funny because thought the PC is still set to 1080p, and the TV is set to "Screen fit", the image only fills about 55" of the TV! The resolution corrects itself if I exit to the desktop from Windows Media Center and immediately restart WMC. This is baffling me because literally no settings have changed. Anybody know what's going on?

Everything I have read indicates that yes, the 48 has the Samsung panel.

I have also debated between the Samsung H6350 and a Sony, but I was considering the next tier up Sony KDLW800B series. And even compared to this line I still ended up choosing the Samsung. This was partly based on the better smart features & interface, but really the picture & performance seem to be a dead heat according to my reading (see comparison at rtings.com and others) and ultimately the Sammy is much cheaper. My wife and I also like the Samsung's design more.

Actually i just placed my Amazon order for the UN48H6350 tonight! I hadn't looked at prices in a little while and was shocked to see them down to $600, so I had to pull the trigger.

The UN48H6350 is on sale for $479 right now...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-UN48...epn=5335869999

I'm thinking that will sell out pretty quick.

I am looking at a UN60H6350AFXZA for $979 and a UN65H6350AFXZA for $1199. Is the 65 worth the extra $220? Just looking for opinions as I probably need to jump on one of these deals asap!

Thanks in advance!

I dont know if anyone ever replied to your problem but I had a similar issue on an older 40" Samsung. I had to twist samsung's arm a bit to get it done but they came out and replaced a board (forget which one) that had to do with the power. It was a common problem and they did it for free. Give samsung a call and see what they say.

Anyone have pic settings change mysteriously when switching back and forth between inputs (sources)? Backlight, contrast, brightness.

.
.
Recording free OTA TV for 'time shifting' has been here since 1975. Will there be DVR's to do the same when ATSC3 obsoletes existing DVR's??

I think there is a menu setting that will hold pic settings for all sources. I think it is at the bottom of whatever PIC setting menu you are in at the time. I think...

Samsung QN65Q70RA/SONY STR-DN1080/PS4/
Klipsch Cinema 12/Panamax 5300-EX/DirecTv HR54-700/
Harmony 665

I don't think a five inch size increase is worth it. IMO, ten inches is the minimum size bump to make it worth it. I'd save the money.

There is, one for all sources and one for the current source, but that isn't it.

Pulled the Trigger Too Fast?

I've been kicking around the idea of a 50" to upsize from an older Sammy LCD 40" in my main viewing room. 50" is the maximum that will fit the space/location (corner of the room). Came across a deal on the UN50H6350 last night, looked over some reviews and pulled the trigger. I probably should have started here as I would have discovered that the panel I will be getting is one of the lower grade panels and folks seem unhappy about the PQ. Before I return this set I want to at least give it a chance. The TV arrives on Tuesday from Amazon. Can someone direct me to calibration settings for the AU (AO?) panel? If unsatisfactory I'll probably exchange this for the 48" which has the Sammy panel although I had to go smaller. 55" is just too large for the corner. Any other suggestions?

I guess my bottom line is whether the UN50H6350 (even with the inferior panel) will out perform the LN40B630 that it is replacing.

I feel a 5" increase is a huge increase. Go look at them side by side. They have them all lined up at my Sam's right now. Really makes a difference. 5" for $220 seems like a good deal.

Yes, the WH02 is a Samsung panel. Gives me hope that mine will be, too!

You mean you can't find that in that small 225 page generic, for all models, no matter where they are sold or what series they are manual??
I think I remember seeing something about it somewhere, but I don't have a hour to wade through 225 pages of some so called "e-manual". I believe it also required connecting the device at the correct time during the process. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Good to know and hopefully yours comes in the Samsung Panel as well

Im assuming its being shipped to you? That would be a hassle to have to return or just have to deal with it

If your referring to me then the only thing I have found was Picture and Sound Settings with the only options shown are the regular Dynamic, Standard, Natural and Movie

Makes me think these TV's dont have a Game Mode or PC mode like my Vizio M has but a review site mentions Game and PC mode to reduce input lag and such for gaming which is what my main use for this TV as well as all my TV's are for

Tried checking for individual Inputs to have separate picture modes too but it seems to be 1 mode for all inputs

Go to folder "System" then look for "General" then you will find game mode.

Thank You

Is there a way to have different picture modes per HDMI input or is it just 1 Mode for all inputs?

Under picture settings there should be an option for "Common"(apply to all inputs)or "Current" (apply to a single input).

Question

I've tried searching this thread but the search engine doesn't appear to work on a 3 character word.

Does the Samsung H6350 or any of the Samsung H5XX or H6XX series for that matter have a CMS or Color Management System (yes I tried searching it spelled out with no hits either unless I'm spelling it wrong).

I want to do a fairly in depth DIY calibration using the Eye One display tool and the ChromaPure software and I'd prefer to get a TV that offers a CMS to give me more tools to accomplish the calibration without having to enter the service menu's.

I'm also considering another TV which has the CMS option so if the Samsung doesn't have this feature it may help me make a decision.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Brian B

No problem, don't use PC mode though for gaming since it won't let you use "screen fit" only 16:9. That's an FYI for everyone btw.

50" comes with two version numbers. WH02 which is a Samsung panel. AH01 which is a AUO panel out of Taiwan. I would go local to assure a Samsung panel.
