Went to see the hu9000 for myself today at hhgreg it was in a nice semi dim setting. The curve is almost not noticeable at all and compared to the x900a they had it next to it looked better. This set was running on a built in demo on the set no other feeds were hooked up to further evaluate it, so far it looks great. I can't wait to see the 78"

That being said, while I was there a tech was rewiring the external speakers he had hooked up and was complaining to another tech that the One Connect box was so hot to the touch that he was afraid it would cause a fire.

This comment abviously concerned me.  Has anyone else who got the TV noticed this?  Maybe it was because the box was kept inside the entertainment center with a closed door and should have had more ventilation?

Curious to see what others see.

I checked the box just now after it had been on for a few hours and there was no trace of heat.

When someone calibrates their set, would you mind posting your settings? I am very impressed with my HU9000 so far. House of Cards looked really good. Only thing I am having an issue with is like the blacks and whites shaking on my TV. For example, words on the screen will shake...Anyone know what would cause this?

Has anyone tried or seen any of these wall mounted? I am nearly sold on the 65" 9000, but REALLY like my older 9000 series Samsung's nearly completely no gap portrait style wall mount with the Samsung slim mount --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?gclid=CNTOn_Se4L0CFUVp7AodEi4A1g&Item=N82E16882676338&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-TV+Mounts-_-N82E16882676338&ef_id=U0v31wAAAOqirK1G:20140414145935:s

Can anyone confirm if this type of mount would work with this tv to get as flush as possible mount to the wall?

Where did you get yours?.

I am thinking about getting mine in Amazon. Anybody bought one big TV in Amazon? How is that "special delivery" service?

Thanks for your answers.

I know a lot of people dislike Best Buy, but thats where I purchased mine from. Free delivery, and if you have any issues, they exchange it for another one. Its very easy to walk in and have a price adjustment done if the price goes down. Just make sure you get a reward zone card for the 100 dollars worth of reward zone certificates. Where are you located?

I have a question.... If I have this TV and basically have everything ran through my Onkyo receiver and not through the One Connect, will I lose the 4k features? I mean I want all of my equipment to go through the receiver and surround sound.

whatever you you do, you still have to connect the output hdmi from your receiver to the input of the connect box. the connect box act as the brain for the tv, and for your concern about losing 4k if everything run to receiver, thats depend on your receiver hdmi version, if its hdmi 1.4 then you are fine but keep in mind if you planning on using 4k signal with 60fps then you need receiver with hdmi 2.0 version. as of now i'm not aware if theres any receiver have hdmi 2.0 yet.

I live in New York City.

B&H will be closed until the 22nd, and they don't have it in stock. I checked the BB online, and they don't seem to have it either.

I was going to get the Sony 850B, but the passive 3D is not optimal. I saw some of these new Samsung (in a Samsung store in Macau) and they were quite spectacular. I was impressed. I also like that it is possible to upgrade down the line.

My only concern is the input lag. I have a PS4 and I use it 20% of the time I use the TV. So I am not a super hardcore gamer, but I enjoy playing games. I hope the input lag is something that can be improved with firmware updates.

Hi Jones, I'm enjoying it very much. The only thing that makes me go "hmmm" is some clouding on the top and bottom of the left side. I have to decide if I can live with it or try (gamble) an exchange. I want to see what other owners say about clouding on their sets or not. Otherwise all is well. Great 2D picture and even better 3D. I didn't want to go back to active 3D (had VT50 and past Samsung C & D PDPs) cause of having to replace batteries and the extra caution (had someone sit on a pair) needed with active glasses but 3D on the 9000 is great. Watched Pacific Rim 3D again and was again amazed at the detail and sharpness. One thing about that movie that is different (3D wise) is that in most scenes everything in the frame (from front to back) is in focus. The majority of movies have more blurred backgrounds scenes. I like what Del Toro did with PR.

So much to explore on Samsung sets in comparison to other manufacturers. Good to see that Samsung has not forgot about OTA, TV watchers either as the information you can see for programs is light years better than Panasonic which was bare to the bone on the VT50 I had and much better than Sony sets. I appreciate that very much, especially since the Chicago Sun-Times stopped printing TV guides in the Sunday paper (talk about the world changing for the worse) a few years back. I already mentioned that the curve is no problem whatsoever for me. Viewing angles however are not that great but are better than the two Sony UHD 659000A I tried. Sitting outside of the screen boundaries result in loss of color and contrast. I had 4 seats in the first row of HT chairs. The outside chairs were half way out of the screen boundaries so I had to eliminate one chair and move the remaining three within the boundary. I'll be glad when OLED comes in at a much better price. It doesn't look like viewing angles on LED/LCD can be fixed though I know they have tried.

I don't think you will be disappointed with the purchase of Samsung's 9000 series. With the connect box you won't feel like the world of TVs are passing you by either.

If you are not wall mounting it really does not matter I guess. You can still wall mount it of course but it will not look as good........

Thanks for the update! Your setup is sweet. How would you rate the motion on this tv? Any issues with fast moving scenes or live sports? I watched the Avengers Blu-Ray for a bit at BB and it seemed to perform very well. How is the upscaling on a live feed(OTA/Cable/Directv)?
