With eco settings off, dynamic contrast off and cinema black off, you really shouldn't have the issue anymore, especially if you also go with the movie mode... Hope that helps...
Christopher, from your suggestion about movie mode I didn't know you were saying to use it, I thought me turning everything else off would accomplish the same thing (and therefore not needing to change to movie mode).

Z-Mad, I just switched over to movie mode and changed settings to match your 03/11 daytime calibrations (although i'm on firmware 2135 and not 2128). One question, on your calibrations you have film mode set to Auto 1. It is greyed out and set to off for me. Does this effect anything? Thanks.

What auto motion plus setting do you recommend.

I use Clear and that works well for most material. However, with certain content, like animation or sports, I like to have a bit of the soap opera effect. Standard (good amount of SOE) or Smooth (too much) both do that, but cause glitches. Like during panning, there will be some dropped frames. Or periodically the picture stops then jumps forward.

I've tried various Custom settings and also get glitches. Is there a combination that will give me some soap opera look but glitch free.

Thanks

Film mode is related to the 3:2 pull down (technique of transferring 24 fps film to 30 fps video) - film mode actually adjusts non 24 fps signal to the 24 fps film mode. If your source is already feeding 24 fps to the TV, there is simply nothing for the film mode to do, and the option stays grayed out, like in your case... So nothing to worry about - doesn't affect picture quality...

As you discovered yourself, clear mode is the best one to use, and what I'd recommend too. It is seemingly the only mode that interpolates the frames at the correct rate that doesn't cause any frame skips or glitches. It is also perfectly sufficient for sports and fast moving action too.

Ah, so the other modes are useless. I was hoping there was a magical combination of blur and judder reduction that gives me just the right amount of SOE without glitches. Thanks, in any event.

Anyone know of a keyboard that will work with the h7150 and Samsung tab 10.5 S...?

I think Logitech k400 and Samsung KDB-2000... are the only ones I have found that may work together.

I've got the H7150 (55") on my short list of non-4k panels and I've noticed it never drops below ~$1400 via authorized dealers. I've watched for a couple months hoping it will drop (as we complete a remodel). How / why is this panel different from 99% of the other Samsung, Sony, etc. panels that drop in price regularly?

Would the UN55H6400 be the next best thing in a Samsung?

The UN55H7150 is not different, it dropped to $999 around March/April when major retailers still had it in stock and were trying to clear it out. Now only the smaller known dealers for the most part are the ones who still carry it, so it has entered the stage where the price will likely start to slowly increase as it becomes more rare. If you're set on a brand new UN55H7150, some Best Buy or Sears in an area with low traffic may still have one.

The H6400 is a solid choice if a 1080p 55" Samsung with 3D are requirements. It can be had at a few places for basically $999.

I don't care about 3D, seems the H6400 was the better panel in the bunch of the ~$1200 range. It also has the "smart" remote, which appeals to me. I think I read somewhere (go figure) that the UN55J6300 replaces the H6400 in the '15 lineup? Seems a tad inferior, no?

I have the H6400 vs. the KDL55W800B so far. I think I'd go w/the H7150 if I could find it under $1k.

The J6300 is a replacement for the H6350. According to rtings.com, the picture quality is the same as the H6350. Notable differences are the newer OS on the J6300 and the chassis which IMO looks cheap on the J6300s below 65".

If you go with the H6400, one potential advantage over the H7150 is that according to some posters in the H6XXX threads, the unit is backlit vs edge-lit, so it may have better uniformity.

W800B is also a good choice, especially if you're a gamer due to the low input lag. Fry's had them briefly for $628 shipped. The version without 3D, W700B, can be had right now from the Sony store for $699.

According to the Samsung website, only differences between the H6400 & J6300 are the J6300 is full HD, 120 motion rate and micro dimming pro (vs. micro dimming) and no 3D. Rtings has the H6400 well above the J6300.

What gives? The H6400 w/Smart Remote puts it over the top?

Rtings changed their process for testing motion blur for 2015 models, so some models scored lower this year than what they would have with the old process.

Also, just FYI, Samsung for 2015 changed the way they report motion rate for 2015 1080p models. Both TVs are 120hz.

Wow. There goes the Rtings comparison for '14 vs. '15 models.

So, if I read it all correctly, the 6400 has a better picture/panel (although the J6300 is HD), J6300 has updated Smart features, 6400 has better remote and appearance/aesthetic is probably a wash. I am tossing 3d out the window as I don't need it.

Any opinion on which is better (cost being a wash) for streaming Netflix, etc., DVD, a little Internet & Direct TV? No gaming. Maybe a better Samsung alternative? TIA!!!

At 55 inches, the panel is the same in the H6400, H6350, and J6300. It will be a Samsung OEM panel, widely considered the best. Picture quality is similar as well.

Samsung TVs generally have excellent native upscaling so you should be fine with DVD, Direct TV, etc. The upscaling of the source will play a bigger factor. Computer content should look great in PC mode.

I've never used Netflix, so sorry, I can't help there. I've used Amazon Prime intermittently on some of my Samsungs and can't recall having issues, but primarily use a Roku for streaming. I would do a search, I know others have discussed the performance of the Samsung Netflix app in depth.

For 55 inches the H7150 also has a Samsung panel, but is 240 hz and will have slightly better picture quality.

Anyone else getting super regular notifications for a free game download? Despite me turning off notifications and clearing old notifications it pops up within a minute of the TV being turned on and then randomly a few times each hour. Super annoying.

I have been getting that same notification just like you said and I have my notifications turned off as well. It started happening right after I updated to the latest firmware.

I have a 65H7150 mounted that way. No problems (bracket bolted directly to 2 studs). Got the bracket from monoprice.

I used the 4174 mounts on a 47, 50 and 65 LED:

I was skeptical at first. But, once they got to my house and I got to check them out I was pretty impressed. Heavy, well built mounts.

Hey guys, looking for a bedroom tv and saw one of my local best buys has a display model UN55H7150 for $975 and am wondering if this is a good deal or to maybe wait till labor day or even black friday for deals on 2015 models. Everything I've read seems to say the H7150 has the best picture for a 1080p. Would you jump on the deal or hold off for a future deal on a new tv?

Consider this; a BB display ('14 model year) has been on for 12 hours a day, seven days a week, for a year (or close).

Thanks, JT! I've been considering replacing my current mount with one of these. I have the UN55H7150 55" LED.

I mounted my panel last night using a Insignia fixed mount bracket from BB. It was a ridiculous $60 but I wanted the new panel mounted that day and I got a discount. But, the mini-challenge w/this bracket is that there are no micro adjustments to create a level panel (if your bracket install is not 100% level). I've seen some of the Monoprice brackets have micro adjustment screws on the TV bracket, allowing you to make minor adjustments on each side.

I got my bracket mounted level so i didn't need the micro adjust, but its a nice feature to have in case the wall mount does not go on 100% level.

I don't think that matters with LCD. There's no aging or burn in.

But try to get them to come down on price.

Lot of other components in there other than the panel. They age.
