How do we bring this to Samsung's notice?? I've tried but the support refuses to give feedback to the product team. Any ideas? Otherwise just keep logging tickets. How irresponsible of Samsung, they just my loyalty.

Obviously this is a "known" now that users are reporting it. Customer care is saying my TV is out of warranty and that I can't downgrade my firmware. So Samsung is pushing updates on consumers (yes it updated without my consent despite the auto update feature being turned off) and then refuses to provide a way to fix it or downgrade it. Can this is a class action lawsuit? I'm out 3000 bucks!!

Saying you're out $3000 bucks because one of the 3rd party apps on your Samsung TV has developed instability with the current firmware is a bit of stretch. Built-in 3rd party apps not working properly after a firmware/OS upgrade are not a problem with just Samsung TVs, see any phone or tablet from several other manufacturers. Why not just buy a dedicated streamer like a Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, etc. with a platform designed specifically for hosting TV apps and be done with the frustration?

I've been on 2144 for quite some time now and have not had any issues streaming whatsoever. I just binge watched both seasons of Daredevil in 1080 without so much as a stutter. Maybe the problem a couple of you have been having is more of a local problem than widespread. I'm interested to know if there's anyone else out there besides myself that literally haven't had a single problem with their TV since purchase.

Maybe a class action against the retailer who charged you $3000 for this TV maybe... Wasn't the MSRP less than $2000 or less at launch?

I have not had any issues with streaming on any of the firmwares that Samsung released. I have been binge watching a series (4 hours per day) for the last 2 weeks and haven't experienced any problems. Try resetting your network or maybe it's time for a new router.

You obviously didn't read my post carefully. I said the Networking subsystem goes offline. It's connected to wifi but the TV cannot communicate, i.e no packets are being processed (and yes I've confirmed with wire shark and various other networking tools). Verified that the TV cannot communicate to the internet from the diagnostic settings. And no it has nothing to do with the router, it was working fine before the update and other devices are working AND it works after turning on/off the TV (and NO resetting the TV didn't help either). So yes the firmware has rendered the TV useless and it nothing to do with third party apps.

I fought it out with Samsung CC, they're pushing updates customer don't want and hence they need to responsible for the consequences. Anyways they sent a tech to check it out at their cost (one time courtesy they said), the came and said likely the motherboard was defective and put in a new one. The good news was the main board was on an older firmware 2132. The bad news is even thought he specifically disabled updates (because I asked him) it STILL went ahead and downloaded the new update and installed it (2143, it didn't seem to see the 2144 update). (so it looks like the option to turn off auto update is pretty useless!!)

Lets see if this fixes the issue, praying it was a bad main board (probably overheating or bad ram or some component) otherwise basically out 3000 bucks for bad firmware.

Try getting Samsung CC to get a tech out to you, he'll likely replace the main board and pray it fixes your issue. Samsung is VERY irresponsible to push updates to TV's when customer don't want them and then not accept resposibility for them. The tech was telling me that often he's seen many main boards go bad when the TV tries to update itself. So literally you're at the mercy of samsung's crappy engineers (or manufacturing if the main boards are defective) and pray nothing goes wrong with your TV (mine for PERFECT for over a year until this new breed of firmwares)

EDIT: If anyone doubts samsung's penny pinching behavior see this class action law suit:

Anyone have ARC working on this TV?

I have HDMI 2 (ARC) connected to my Denon X1100 receiver but dont have the option (its greyed out) on the Samsung to select "receiver" for audio out.

Only options are TV speakers or "audio out" which I assume is optical.

I would just use optical but my TV is mounted and will take a bit off effort to run the optical cable.

Make sure you have anynet (CEC) enabled on the Samsung. It's under System, IIRC!

This has probably been answered in another thread but I have my TV set up with an onkyo reciever but when I play an MKV file from an USB connected to the TV no sound comes out even though I have tv selected in the receiver.

Can you use files from a USB in the TV and hear it with my receiver?

I would do a smarthub reset and then do a multi-delete on all the junk apps they add back in. I'm ethernet attached @ fw2144.

I have had this tv for a little over a year. The first 6 months or so it was fantastic then it started randomly turning itself off and back on. After having it in for repairs numerous times they finally were able to fix this issue. I guess they changed a few panels. However after fixing it the picture is TERRIBLE. The factory settings which were not bad before are now completely unwatchable. The blacks are completely crushed and the whites are washed out. I have to put the brightness and contrast settings both to around 60 to make it watchable and then the picture is still not nearly as good as it used to be. If I put the input to PC mode it is much better but I lose a lot off settings I like to use.

Any idea what the issue could be? I had the tv back in and the tech said nothing he changed would effect the picture and he sent me on my way with the television. I was not impressed.

I would post some pictures but I just joined and cannot post links untill I have 5 posts lol.

Just an update to my Dolby Digital 5.1 questions earlier. This TV will pass through, from HDMI to Optical Out, Dolby Digital 5.1 from my Google TV with Kodi and Apple TV 3, not my Xbox 360. So it really depends on how the source is sending the audio, I think it's sources where no decoding is required, if that makes sense?

My UN60H7100 that I bought it 6-4-2015 just died on Memorial day afternoon.
It was totally okay in the morning. but I could not turn it on that afternoon. Nothing on screen.

Anyway after 5 days I requested a repair service, Authorized Samsung technician came today and replaced a mainboard.
Thank God my TV was in warranty(a week before expired)

It was xxxxing hard to get service, made so many phone calls to get a ticket number (Everytime I was on the phone with agent, they keep asking me same question even though it is under same ticket number)

I was so disappointed with Samsung product also their customer service.

Are they better than the Standard ones that come with the TV?

Visually, the picture is the same (at least my opinion). They are more comfortable, though, and the rechargeable feature is much more convenient. Admittedly, I don't watch much 3D content but, when I do, I only let guests use the standard ones...these good ones are for me and my wife.

I have 2 pairs of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161807153688

and 3 pairs of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291584580229

I like the second ones a bit better, but they are both much better than the crappy ones that came with the TV. Both are rechargeable and a single charge lasts a long time.

Last night I got a drop down message on my H7150 saying there was an update available. I did the update and the TV rebooted quickly, all seems fine. I haven't noticed any changes but I'm curious to know what all the update did? The version I have now is 2147 however on Samsung's website, that latest they have listed is 2144. Any ideas?

Update Firmware?

I bought my TV in December 2014 but have never updated the firmware. It is currently on 1117 Since I have a Roku 3, I don't use any of the streaming apps. I've been watching a lot of 3D Blu-rays lately and have noticed some ghosting/crosstalk. Would updating the firmware give a better 3D image? How does the 3D look on the most recent firmware?

No, later firmware doesn't help with that problem. Best you can do is make sure the room is very very dark and set the depth perspective to 0. Adjust this while viewing a film so you can get a sense of what it does.
