Just picked mine up from HHGregg, got a 65. They claimed the coupon wasn't supposed to work on the TV but it went through anyway. Love it so far, have to tweak the settings but my son confiscated it for Disney Jr... so unfortunately no info yet on playing games yet.

Week on with both 46 and 65" h7150....

My 65" has very good uniformity, but the 46" does have lightened corners.

Black levels and viewing angles are good for an lcd display. Recently auditioned a sony kdl65w850a as well and i would say the samsung has it beat in everything but fluidity of motion. The sasmung does exhibit would i would call some "hiccupping" as it seems to lock onto the candence when switching channels. Have found scaling and deinterlacing through my marantz receivers reduces this.

Black levels are not as dark as either my panasonic tc-p50st60 or samsung pn64f8500. 8500's contrast absolutely crushes the 7150, but the 7150 may be nearly as good as the sony kdl55hx850 i have in kids' playroom.

This is a solid option in this post-plasma apocalypse

I just replaced a kdl55hx800 and it's like night and day. The sony had started displaying horrible black lines, the wife couldn't see them as bad as I could, but she agrees the h7150 is a night and day difference.

What panel version is the 65" and 46"? Try putting the AMP, (Auto Motion Plus), on CLEAR and it should alleviate the judder/stutter.

So far all the 46&48" panels have been TS01 SPVA panels.

Just got finished watching A secret life of Walter Mitty and was messing around with the auto motion plus. There is a scene around the 36-37 minute mark where he is running out of the building and there are a bunch of Time magazine covers on the wall behind him. At first I had AMS off and the pictures behind him were shuddering like crazy, then I tried smooth and it was almost perfect, then standard and it was the same as smooth. Later on in the movie I changed it to clear and towards the end of the movie there's a scene where the plane is landing and the city is in the background and there was shuddering again. I paused and put it back to smooth and then standard and it was clear again.

Just an observation I thought I would share in this thread, there's still a lot of settings I need to tweak, but I'm still really happy with the tv so far. I did notice a little flash lighting in the corners, but when I get up and close on the tv they seem to disappear almost like its dependent on the angle I am viewing at, weird I know, but even so it wasn't enough to justify playing the tv lottery yet. I'll be looking closely over the next few days/weeks.

Life is hard, be harder.

So preliminary general consensus seems to be that this is a solid tv, it sounds like a bigger step up from the F7100 than initially thought...again we are still only seeing a select few impressions but still.

I am hoping to order my 60" next week (worst case will be first week of May), just waiting for my bonus check from work.

I would still love to see a comparison with the F8000 as you are starting to see good deals on those sets.

Can anyone advise what the width of the base that comes in contact with the table is? It looks to be about half of the total width of the unit, but can't find this anywhere. I have my 60" on order as of today smile.gif

Also, does the samsung logo light up? Is the bezel clear around the edges?

The bezel isn't clear and my samsung logo isn't lit up right now as I'm watching, not sure if it does since my sound bar blocks it.

As for the base I wish I could give an exact answer but it seems my son has hidden my tape measurer. It looks to be around 5-6 inches on each side that don't touch my TV stand. I have the 65".

Now I have a question, currently catching up on 24 before the new season starts and in some of the night scenes it is extremely grainy. I'm assuming it's because it's older video streamed over the internet (since it doesn't do this on cable or blu ray) what settings should I adjust to make the best of it.

Width is 10.5 inches.  The Samsung logo does NOT light up.  Bezel is not clear, is the metalic gray color, same as the base.

10.5 sounds low for the stand width - I'm looking for the minimum table width I can have without it hanging over.

Any chance you know what the panel version is? Also hopefully someone else with a 60" can chime in...I know the F7100 60" version had a sharp panel and different bezel's however I believe that is not the case with the H7150

My 46" is TS01 panel also. Presently watching Sorcerer Blu-Ray and it looks great!

Really liking this tv! Glad I took a chance buying one without seeing it on display.

I am not able to make up my mind on new tv frown.gif

I don't have to rush but need to buy before end of May and it has to be 65 or 70 inches and flat ( not curved)

Looking at F8000 or newer H7150 and H8550 from Samsung, new sony 2014 lineup and new sharp UQ model. Budget is about $3K.

Appreciate if someone can share some suggestions.

Thanks !

Hxxx is a Sharp panel, Txxx is Samsung. So sounds much like last years F series the 60" sets are sharp panels. Not necessarily a bad thing my main grip with the F series was that the 60" was literally a different TV different bezels, overall size, etc where as now that doesn't seem to be the case.

I would return it for another 60" and see if there is a difference, sometimes you can get a bad panel regardless of size, or maybe its just a calibration issue. Either way I would swap it out to be safe.
