That could raise it up to the height you need...

I did exactly this when I got my new (bigger) center channel. It was blocking the bottom edge of the screen when sitting on the entertainment center in front of it. So, four 4x4's as legs just high enough to clear the CC, and a piece of plywood cut to size and screwed to them for the TV base. I slid the CC under the new stand, covered the entire thing with black velvet, and set the TV on top of the stand. Perfecto for my needs.

Ohh and I forgot to mention that if anyone is interested in the 70 inch version Sam's club has it on sale for 1698.99. I took that into best buy and they will price match and if you don't have a best buy credit card when you sign up they give you an extra 10% off your purchase so it dropped it down to 1520.00 before taxes. The sale price ends August 30th though.

Just picked up the M60 for $1200 at Best Buy (after a Sam's Club price match and a $55 reward certificate).

Looking forward to setting it all up!

The 60" is going above a fireplace and a 70" would be way too much overhang. the 65" was a bit over, so I stuck w/ the 60"

Couple questions for you owners. I'm very interested in either the 70" version of this set (what a deal right now!) or possibly the new 75" version. I'm leaning toward the former since the latter is almost twice the price at $3k, unless they've added any functionality to the later model 75" version?

My biggest concern is that I do use this display with an HTPC in my family room, and would eventually want to upgrade my video card and run it in 4k60 (right now it's just outputting to 1080p). I understand the lack of any kind of 4:4:4 chroma is an issue, but I'm trying to gauge how much of an issue. I don't really do any critical photo development work on the pc, it's mainly just a hub to launch movies (BR rips), TV content (windows media center and HD Homerun tuner), and a bit of web browsing.

With that said, is it likely that I will have issues with the failure to pass 4:4:4 chroma on this set? Other than that it's "deficiencies" compared to other highly rated sets don't bother me.

Thanks!

I'M personally waiting for the announcement that's coming in four weeks. I'm curious if the new R series will have HDR and WCG so that will give me a better understanding and choices.

Zero motion blur? I didn't think that was possible on an LED. I sure hope you're being objective(I'm waiting on the P series)...

There's no suspense there, it will have both plus 384 dimming zones. The question is how well the TV will execute. On paper the TV has killer specs.

LG 65B8 - Primary
LG 55EG9100 - Bedroom
Sonos Playbase

For your information I have the Vizio M55-C2 in my livingroom, but I am not a rabid sports viewer.

But now I am begining to wonder about Rtings.com because in one of their comparision list they recommend a model from Sharp for sports, which has lower review ratings than the Vizio on the Best Buy website.

I'm using my M60 with my HTPC (Ubuntu/MythTV/HomeRun Prime) and Blu-Ray player. The lack of 4:4:4 chroma is a non-issue for me. TV, DVD, & Blu-Ray all sub-sample chroma (no 4:4:4). For watching video it's irrelevant whether you use an HTPC or a cable box. For use as a computer from 8' away it also isn't an issue, it looks great.

I was thinking of getting a 40" UHD TV to use as a desktop monitor, and then it would matter - sitting two feet away.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how I can tell when my M70 was manufactured. I have looked on the back and cannot see a date. Is it in one of the numbers on the back of the TV? Also if someone can tell me how I can see what firmware version I am running. I bought the M70 a few days ago and I have it connected to the internet but I haven't received a firmware update yet. So maybe it shipped with the latest firmware already installed? Thanks to anyone who can let me know.

Stolen from the post that I used to update mine.....

Go to menu - system - system information - then scroll all the way down and hit service check. Then turn the Tv off over night. Now go back in a day and check the system info screen at the top. The firmware should have the word UHD in it. I think factory shipped FW is 10.0.1 or something.

I just got the M55-C2. This is my first smart TV, my others being plasma or LCD with no app connectivity. I was able to get things calibrated very nicely using ColorHCFR as I have done with all my other displays. However, when I use any smart app from the suite - say Netflix or YouTube, the picture setting reverts back to standard. The menu says the picture mode is my custom one, but the display is actually in the standard mode. The switch is very apparent. I'm not really concerned about this for YouTube playback as most of the content is not color managed. Netflix, however... that's a different story. Surely the smart apps should respect the picture settings? Or perhaps this is the case with all Smart TVs? If so, I would assume that my only option would be to go with an external Roku. Seems to negate the whole reason for getting a Smart TV in the first place...

Any comments on this behavior?

Thanks!

^^ the apps are treated as a separate input. You need to select the PM/CT for your calibration when in one of the apps if that's what you want to use.

If you are taking about [email protected] 444 then no, the M series does not support that.

My son bought an M60 last weekend at Walmart. He's been setting it up but it won't stay on! It just turns itself off randomly, from what he says after just seconds. Has anyone else seen this? We had to rent a truck to buy it and I really don't want to have to do that again to return it and get another TV...

Thank you.. I checked my TV and it says Version 1.2.23-UHD
I'm guessing it shipped with this because I never got the firmware update message like I did on my other small bedroom Vizio.

I experienced this with my m65-c1. It would just "blink" then come back on. I tried several things, including: plugging TV directly into wall and not my power strip, plugging my AVR into wall and not power strip. No luck, I returned it and upgraded to m70-c3 after 2 weeks of this. The m70 did it a few times. I had an electrician come out and replace my outlet and it hasn't done it since. Not sure if this is the answer for your son, but it has seemed to help me. GL

I was just checking the Vizio website for anything new about the 2015 P-Series and i must say i am very impressed seeing how comprehensive the 2015 M-Series turned out to be considering its many choices for UHDTVs in diagonal sizes of 43" ~ 49" ~ 50" ~ 55" ~ 60" ~ 65" ~ 70" ~ 75"~ 80", now that is impressive !

How many times have i read of people right here at the LCD Forum making complaints such as "if only it were available in 55" size instead of 60", or " why isn't there a size between 70" and 80" ?, or "i would buy it in an instant if only it came in 80" size", etc, etc, etc.
I can't remember ever seeing another LCD company offer so many different sizes to suit the vast majority of buyers, especially considering this is only one amongst Vizio's four lines of UHDTVs.
Kudos to Vizio !

Now, if only Vizio would get going with the release of the 2015 P-Series, preferably with the same size offerings as the current M-Series...

The sale price ends August 30th though.
Did they give you 10% off your purchase, or rewards coupons worth $170 (10% of the Sams matched price) off the purchase of future BB purchases? I bought my M70 last Wed, 8/19, and after reading your Sam's notice, went in to BB this morning asking for a price match. Since my 15 day return period isnt up til this coming thursday, it was a no brainer and they matched it (Thank You!).. I also opened up a BB card acct, so they wrote a credit for $1799 against my original purchase to my Credit Card, and then wrote a new order to be charged to my new BB card for the sams price of $1699. However, the 10% card opening promo, it was explained to me, is supposed to be used against future purchase through the use of the reward coupons I will be sent via email as a result of the card opening.

So if you got 10% off the TV in addition to the Sam's match, then not all stores are handling it the same way.

Hi, I have the 50" version, the M50-C1, Can anyone help me with settings for this set? I am massively disappointed with how it looks with my PC which is the main thing I use. I do not have a expensive or fancy graphics card (a msi amd hd 6450) but I feel like the picture looks so washed out, the color is just awful. I have not messed with it a ton but at 1st use just on default setting game systems like xbox one and wiiU seem to look great, it looks very HD and the color "pops" it seems nice, but my PC just looks bad and videos, like tv shows and movies look WAY different, I think I get what everyone says now about a "soap opera effect" with these TVs. I figured people were complaining about nothing or it was minor but wow, tv shows look totally different they look so cheap and just "off" I have tried different settings but nothing looks right. How can I turn off this soap opera thing and does anyone have settings they can recommend for a PC ?
