Great, thanks! That makes it a 250VA unit (not really watts, but close enough to the info I need).

Awesome!. Thank you. Are you disappointed with not having the HDR? Do you notice a large difference between games on PS4 vs the Pro?

Well not having seen HDR in action it's hard to be disappointed, but at the same token I have been itching to get a new TV even though this thing isn't even a year old yet.
I hadn't played my PS4 in a long time so I can't really comment on the improvement. What I can say though is that I don't notice much of a difference over my Xbox One S with the same games and we're talking a title that is supposed to be optimized on the PS4 Pro (Battlefield 1). Gorgeous title on both consoles to be honest.

Fair enough. Yeah, Ive been super bummed about being an early adopter earlier this year with my M70, but what can ya do. I think I may buy a 50-55 HDR capable display for my office and switch to gaming in there. My kids and wife dont care about HDR and Id have a hard time justifying selling it at such a loss only 1 year later.

Simply constructive criticism on my part--i.e., not meant as a flame post--can we please not post stuff like "I bought/upgraded to the 2016 M- / P-series and I'm loving it" or "Is the 2016 Vizio worth getting rather than a 2015 model?" in this thread? After all, this is the 2015 Vizio 4K M-series thread, not the 2016 Vizio 4K HDR thread; we all know that the 2016 Vizios are better overall than the 2015 models PQ-wise, but comments about them really should belong in the 2016 Vizio 4K P/M-series HDR thread.

A bit of weirdness. I currently have a Roku Ultra hooked to this set, but last month I had a Roku 4 like you. In both cases I had the display type set to "4K". In my current setup I moved the HDMI cable from HDMI 2 to HDMI 5 and rebooted the Roku. After that all content was displayed by the TV as 2160p. OK, that's interesting.

THEN, I connected the HDMI back to HDMI 2 and rebooted. Now on HDMI 2 all the content appears as 2160p. I have no idea how or why this changed.

Thanks for posting your PS4 Pro/Xbox One S comparison. Please continue to post your impressions of the PS4 Pro with the 2015 M-Series. Thinking about getting one, though at this point seems that it may just make more sense to buy the Slim.

I'm eyeballing the M60-C3 it's available for $956 shipped to my door. I currently have a 10 year old Samsung DLP that is 56" and 1080P. It's been the best TV I have ever owned but it's showing it's age.

Any reason not to go with the M60-C3? I checked a few reviews seem like a very solid TV at a good price to get me into the 4k scene and it's also 240hz correct?

I don't think it's worth going with the 2015 M series TV today, especially not for that much.
They had the 2016 models for sale for $750 last week, look around. You might be able to snap up a M65 2016 for about $1k.

U have to read the definition which based on the manufacture they are called by different names. Scroll to the bottom of this cnet arrival and you will see the names or what the actual refresh rate is of the displays.

I've not had the time to do a comparison for the Samsung K8500 UHD player on this tv, but people have posted in the K8500 thread that even without UHD, the picture quality is amazing.

It's been years since I've been on here, but had to jump on and share my experience with the Vizio M70-D3 which I purchased thru Costco almost 3 months ago. Experience has not been positive. Display looks great, however neither I nor anyone at Vizio can figure out why the TV only gets 17mbps down while hardwired to modem and my internet speeds are 61/6.5 on every other device, even when plugged into the same port as the Vizio. So after many phone calls, and resets and resets and more resets of modem and TV, etc, they finally decided to send me a new TV. New TV arrived today and is pictured. I had no idea a panel could look that bad. Granted it's from a steep angle but wow.. look at the top bezel how it's pulled away from the screen and is letting the backlight shine straight through. The screen itself is rippled rather badly. I sent it back. Disgusted at this point.
Trying to decide whether it's worth the effort for another delivery of what could be another bad panel, or live with the low internet speeds at the TV since I don't really use that feature much having a Roku hooked up anyway. It bothers me settling for one problem which I figure is better than the other problems that seem to be prevalent on this model. I'm regretting moving from Samsung at this point.

I wasn't talking about their "Effective" rating. That's the same thing as Samsung's PQI and LG's PMI.
The panel itself is 120Hz in 60" and larger, those TVs are rated as 240Hz effective, the 50" and 55" have a 60Hz panel and will be rated as 120Hz effective.

So I experienced that auto volume increase recently (first time since taking ownership at the beginning of the year) and at first thought I was sitting on the remote. Then I remembered this being discussed on here before and immediately knew what I needed to do to solve it.

Thank you avsforum!

They did change the 55" M to 120Hz (actual) for 2016. That's what Jasonn B was referring to.
EDIT: I was thinking of the 2016 P55... the 2016 M55 is in fact a 60Hz panel like the 2015 model.

I wouldn't count on it. It seems that 'Clear Action' is an indication, it's 360 for the 50" and 55" models and 720 for 60" and larger.
In the P series, the 55" does have a 120Hz panel, though.

First off, you have the 2016 M and this is the 2015 M thread, but no biggie. What you should have done before returning your original set is check the forum here, (any Vizio thread, in fact) to learn that on all Vizio TVs the network speed test is as inaccurate as it gets. The reason being that it is simply way too short to come up with the correct speed, and consistently. I hope you'll get a better set if you choose to replace it again. The M-series, both 2015 and 2016, are excellent sets, especially for the price.

240 Effective refresh rate equals a 120hz display. 120 Effective refresh equals 60hz

But this isn't just Vizio displays or tvs only. It is the same case for any device you can't control what server your pinging. This is the case for Xbox One, PS3 and PS4. You don't have control of what server your hitting to get the similar results you get from an iPad or desktop

The M-series, both 2015 and 2016, are excellent sets, especially for the price.
I searched several different ways on Google, although not here specifically, and came up with next to nothing on that issue. The issues that came up related only to the cast feature not working. Furthermore, after dealing with a designated Smartcast tech over the phone on two occasions, that person agreed that the TV should be getting well beyond that speed considering the tests run using laptop and speedtest.net on same Ethernet etc, and is the person who initiated the exchange. Furthermore, I haven't returned my original set. As I said, the replacement (and brand new in box) set they sent me was completely defective in a different way, as evidenced by the photo in my post, and I sent that back after powering it up. I do not agree with you that it is a great set for the money at this point. There are manufacturing issues with these TVs and I knew from reading around that I stood a great chance of getting a replacement TV with the rippled screen/blooming, wasn't expecting the bezel to be completely jacked up though. Maybe after the third arrives ill agree... Probably not.
