( 0s ) Joann: Here at VIZIO we pride ourselves in providing best in class U.S. based support. Have you contacted VIZIO in the past?
( 19s ) Belgiangenius: Only be email.
( 1m 25s ) Joann: Hello Michael you want to know about firmware?
( 1m 26s ) Belgiangenius: Ever since 1.423 firmware update, I have had image problems with my m70-c3. The screen flashes intermittently when using certain inputs.
( 1m 54s ) Belgiangenius: Are you going to fix this problem with the firmware? t's been a month or so...and the problem continues.
( 2m 21s ) Joann: Before we get started, I would like to gather some more information from you. May I please get your serial number for your VIZIO product, name of the store you bought it from, and the approximate date of purchase?
( 2m 57s ) Belgiangenius: It was purchased from costco around November 2015. Give me a sec. to find the firmware #.
( 3m 47s ) Joann: What is the serial number of tv?
( 4m 23s ) Belgiangenius: 34LFTRSYXXXXXXXXX
( 6m 6s ) Joann: What devices do you have connected to your TV and what types of cords or cables are being used to connect them?
( 6m 35s ) Belgiangenius: OTA via coax, Roku 4 via HDMI, Bluray via HDMI
( 8m 12s ) Belgiangenius: I have no problems when viewing my Roku 4, which is set to 2160P. I have no problems when using Netflix app native to the television. When I view either OTA content or Bluray content, the picture flashes intermittently. These flashes last only a fraction of a second. Sometimes they could be every few seconds....sometimes you don't see it for a half hour.
( 8m 54s ) Joann: Can you please do a power cycle for me?
-Unplug TV from outlet
-Press and hold in the power button on the TV for 30 seconds (The power button is located on the back of the TV along the bottom-left hand side.)
-Release the power button
-Plug in the TV
-Power the TV back on
( 9m 32s ) Belgiangenius: I did this yesterday....you can find these instructions online. It made no difference. I also tried resetting to factory defaults. No difference.
( 10m 8s ) Joann: When did you purchase the tv?
( 10m 26s ) Belgiangenius: November 2015.
( 10m 51s ) Joann: Did you get extended service plan?
( 11m 11s ) Belgiangenius: Yes.
( 11m 56s ) Belgiangenius: I could get it serviced. Not sure I see the point, though. There is online diuscussion at AVS forum about other people having the same problem since 1.4.23. Are you going to fix the firmware?
( 12m 44s ) Joann: You would have to talk with extended service to get this fix.
( 13m 9s ) Belgiangenius: I think you're missing the point. The firmware seems to be defective. Are you going to fix the firmware?
( 13m 35s ) Belgiangenius: "Here at VIZIO we pride ourselves in providing best in class U.S. based support.:
( 13m 41s ) Belgiangenius: Please do that and fix your firmware.
( 14m 12s ) Joann: I understand that. I will tell the department about your issue.
( 15m 8s ) Belgiangenius: Yes, please! We have been living with this problems for too long now. I can have the extended service some in, but unless they are going to roll back the firmware, I don't see it fixing the problem.
( 15m 43s ) Belgiangenius: The problem is documented online.
( 15m 44s ) Belgiangenius: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/166-lc...hread-527.html
( 16m 4s ) Belgiangenius: Those pictures you see of the lines in the image are the same as I what see since 1.4.23 update.
( 16m 52s ) Joann: When it flashes do you get a picture?
( 17m 26s ) Belgiangenius: The flash only lasts a fraction of a second. The pictures you see are obtained by taking video and freezing it to isolate the flash.
( 18m 17s ) Belgiangenius: I did the same thing with my set and the flash looks just like what the guy from Connecticut posted in that forum.
( 18m 26s ) Joann: So after it flashes do you get a picture from the antenna or blu ray player?
( 18m 49s ) Belgiangenius: Yes. It looks normal...like I said, the flash lasts only a fraction of a second.
( 21m 5s ) Joann: It sounds like a hand shake issue.
( 21m 28s ) Belgiangenius: I don't think there is any handshaking going on with an antenna....it's a one directional signal.
( 22m 35s ) Belgiangenius: FYI, I'm an electrical engineer. I'm giving you guys this information because I'm certain you have a firmware problem and I'd like your company to fix it.
( 23m 0s ) Joann: I understand that.
( 23m 13s ) Belgiangenius: Please make sure your firmware gets get this information.
( 23m 22s ) Belgiangenius: firmware guys, that is
( 23m 30s ) Joann: I will make sure they will get the information
