Nice picture of the JU7100 here:

The 2015 Samsung UNJU7100 is one of a handful of TVs that have received an official upgrade to handle HDR.

Does this tv adapt to the different hdr modes it receives from sources?
Or is it set to one preset for all hdr?

Maybe xbox is sending wrong hdr preset command(gamma mode) to tv?

One more, is your Xbox routed through an AVR or directly to the One Connect Mini?

Connect to the yamaha cxa5100 pre amp, then to Samsung one connect module.
I made sure that hdmi input was set to HDR colour input..
I tried several inputs to test....
On the yamaha, made sure to set its mode to 1.. Which allows HDR..

The graph for Gamma will be severely altered (down in the low % and up in the high %) when you turn Smart LED on AFTER calibrating, hence displaying in graph form exactly what the Smart LED function is for (darker Blacks and brighter Whites). Therefore, the cd/m2 would be lower at 0% and higher at 100% when you enable Smart LED after calibration.

Hi, I recently just purchased the JU7100 55" for $699 total. It has a TS-01 panel and I really like the TV, however today I was able to purchase the JU7100 65" for $799 total but it has the IH-02 panel. I really like the 65" version but I'm just wondering how bad the IH-02 panel is comparatively. Thanks for the help

Netflix Stutter Settings

Hi there,

Can someone please share their AutoMotion Plus settings for the native Netflix app? Because Netflix stream at 24FPS via 60p I get an irritating stutter and for me soap opera is the lesser of two evils. I don't want to go overboard however and was wondering what everyone has had success with?

Cheers.

It is a fine panel. There are a lot of us on this thread with that panel and are very happy with the tv.

I guess I live too far North for Samsung's FW 1461.1 to find me? Of course, support says only 1460.4 is current!

1461.1 on my HU9000 + SEK-3500U - drastic calibration changes that I'm now trying to sort through. One being Gamma HAS to be on -1 to get the SM WBs Gains and Offsets, 2 Point Offsets, and 10 Point 30% to jibe. Also required was Gamma at -1 to calibrate the Standard Mode.

Does anyone have any inside info on exactly why some owners get notified about updates via the tv long after others? I'm not complaining because I've been on 1462 since about a week ago. But the update thing is just so bizzarre.

TVs: Sony XBR65X930E (2017), v8.0.0 (6.6510) / Samsung UN50JU7100 (2015) w/ IA02 panel, sw v.1530.1
AVR: Yamaha RX-v581, sw v.2.65
Speakers 5.1.2: Polk Audio RM6750 (surround) + Pioneer SP-T22A-LR Atmos height

p5, are you saying that firmware updates can change the sets baseline calibration?

I have been on 1462 since a week ago as well........my TV just auto updates itself, I never have a choice, it just shuts down and back on with a notice that it updated!

I have 1462 and I never even noticed it updated. Just went to check what I was on and it said 1462.

Just noticed a weird thing watching Easy on Netflix in UHD, the 4th episode is entirely subtitled and in a dark scene every time a subtitle popped up the entire screen would noticibly lighten. I guess that's smart LED?

Won't know until Samsung gives the update re the JU7100.
Their online updates are now next to useless, if not completely out of date! Once upon a time, within 2 weeks of a new update, it was posted and available to DIY. Apparently, not anymore!

I had to update my firmware via USB, from 1455 to 1460.4. You can get the file from the Samsung website as well as the instructions on how to to do it.

I have a question about thumbnails on the ju7100. When switching between sources on the tv, I cannot seem to turn off the thumbnails that pop up for each source, besides removing them individually. Is there a way to disable this feature? Also, are these thumbnails being stored somewhere long term? Thanks!

You been looking at some naughty things on HDMI 2 haven't you?

Just kidding, I am not sure how to remove those either. It's normally a "snapshot" of the last image that was displayed prior to switching inputs.
