How's the 3D on our JU7100's?

I have never actually experienced it. Pretty good? Average? Also I understand we need active glasses. Any recommendations on which to buy?

Anyone getting headaches or dizzy from the active glasses?

It is decent. The picture settings for 3d are also different from normal viewing. I watched Prometheus in 3d Saturday night and found Dynamic looked really good whereas trying to use my calibrated settings for normal viewing was very washed out.

I still don't care for 3d, unless it's like the clips you can find on youtube where the 3d is "in your face, leaps off the screen".

Gator, what glasses do you use?

I was looking at some Quantum 3D brand glasses but not sure if the universal stuff is a good idea. They have built in rechargeable batteries which seems nice.

Would you say the youtube clips are native 3d whereas Prometheus is 2d to 3d conversion?

I bought 3 pairs of Samsung SSG-5150GB 3D Active Glasses.

Yes, I believe the youtube clips are native and the other is 2d to 3d conversion.

If you downloaded and tried the clips I mentioned, while playing the clips your Backlight should have gone up to 20 and Contrast up to 100 and Color Space to Native. That means your HDR is working.

One more thing about the picture settings.... I repeat that the Dynamic Picture Mode looked really good for 3d, REALLY GOOD. There was a tremendous amount of detail that I don't normally see with 2d Blu-Ray. Also, color saturation is high, but not oversaturated. It starts to make me wonder if I can tread a little off the beaten (ISF) path to pull some of what I saw in 3d out of my normal viewing calibration for 2d...

I don't know what you think about this but I see a major HDR improvement with this tv and mostly after the latest 1463 software update. It is possible Samsung is preparing the tv for the major Tizen operating system update coming soon.

I've heard that HDR performance looks pretty bad in Game Mode on the JU7100 (both picture quality and increased latency). Can anyone with an Xbox One S and an HDR enabled game share their thoughts and findings?

It seems my set updated today as well. Do you happen to know what was included in the update?

Included are the graphs for HCFR. Note that I do not calibrate with Smart LED on. The graph for Gamma will be severely altered (down in the low % and up in the high %) when you turn Smart LED on AFTER calibrating, hence displaying in graph form exactly what the Smart LED function is for (darker Blacks and brighter Whites). Therefore, the cd/m2 would be lower at 0% and higher at 100% when you enable Smart LED after calibration.

I'm going to give this a try tomorrow, also with your corrections for use without the service mode adjustments. I've been very happy with an early archonx calibration, but I'm curious if there's anything to be gained with trying something new after all the firmware updates.

Cool, let me know how it goes. You can try changing the 2 point Offsets by the amounts that are adjusted in the Service Menu (minus 14 points each) and the 2 point Blue Gain up nine points. That would offset in the Normal Menu the same that was adjusted in the Service Menu. Then again, you may not see a difference or deem it necessary.

archonx calibrations are WAY out of date with the last 3 FW updates!

Must be some elusive JU7100 forum out there because it was not mentioned here that I'm aware of. I can't find anything from Google that says there is an issue with HDR and gaming lag and the 7100. Could it be the issue lies with the Xbox One S?

I have both and there is no lag. I play NBA 2K17 and jump shot timing would be impacted if it was. This is not happening.
