You get the long runtime with the Extended Runtime Battery attached to the APC 1500.

APC 1500BRG
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...82E16842101419

APC BR24BPG
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...82E16842101435

I use a dozen of these with the extended runtime batteries at home. And I make sure I don't have too much load on them so I can get 2 to 18 hours of runtime. It really depends on the load, how much run time you have.

With my UHD setup withmy 850C, I have everything attached to one 1500BRG with the extended battery. And that gives me around 140 minutes of runtime when watching TV with the speaker bar on. Of course if I turn on an XBOne S or PS4 Pro, the runtime would go down. But I can always attach those to a different APC BAckups if I expect a long power outage. And then when I'm not home and only the TiVo is on, along with the Roku and other devices in standby, I'll get over a dozen hours of run time.
thanks for your quick reply,i'm on it!

It's a bad day at Black Rock for me.

TV stopped responding normally to remote control when watching Netflix. Had to reboot, first via remote, then via unplugging, and it's booting up into Safe mode (says "Safe mode" in lower left-hand corner). Remote response LED on TV is flashing constantly.

Can someone post the manual factory reset steps (the ones where you can't get into the TV menus to do it from there).

I believe it was something about holding power button while plugging it in?

I tried the process where you turn on the TV, then point the remote and press and hold the up-arrow key and then tap the power button - all that does is turn off the TV. I tried both tapping the power button and holding it while pressing the Up arrow on the Sony remote, TV just turns off either way. Hoping there's another alternative factory reset option.

Doing some quick searching but haven't found the info yet.

Thanks.

NVM - found it. Plug in while holding Volume Down and Power buttons on back of TV. Hold both buttons after plugging in until TV's LED goes from white to green. May take up to three times to have desired effect...

Did the reset, rebooted after reset and took me into setup. Completed setup but no-go....the "Safe mode" message was there the whole time and the LED is still flashing, and after setup it goes to a screen w/no content (looks like HDMI 2 input - there is a 2 in the upper right corner) and the no signal message, etc.

May give Sony support a try, but it looks like is time to contact Square Trade - hopefully I'm still within my three years - this was a replacement for a 70X850B that went south...

Happy day - two more resets later (one w/the power/volume down and plug in, and one via Settings menu, and Safe mode is gone, on SmartTV home screen, things appear to work again.

Woot...

I am more familiar with computers but from what you describe it appears you may have some faulty or corrupted memory. If it is still under warranty I would get a tech to do a full diagnostic on the set.

I can access on other devices to... but the TV just hangs 10 seconds into the startup of the app. Tested the network and the TV says everything is fine.

If I have time I might try deleting the app and then reinstall it... I guess thats possible isn't it?

Anyway, thanks for the quick response.

This, this and this again. Both my entertainment centers have a battery backup with power conditioning. I have had good luck with Cyberpower brand from Amazon. They are around $140 I believe. Recently had power issues over a couple weks where randomly power would glitch again and again every few minutes. Super bad -I did not worry at all about the entertainment centers.

Like an extended warranty, think of it as added protection for your stuff.

The Marshmallow update, or a new one? Are you in Europe? They are resuming the M update there.

Website has always lagged...

Home for lunch, did a quick check for update on the set, no update available (I'm on the Marshmallow release.) Releases do tend to roll out gradually, so possible that he got a newer version of Marshmallow, or that he's in Europe where Sony is re-starting their Marshmallow update.

Don't know if/how this is connected to the update that your contact has predicted, @mrdjman , but the "real" update may still be to come at the end of the month.

I'd clear data on the app and link it to your account again.

Could also just be that you're connecting to a group of Netflix servers that are having issues.

But then when I went to check and it said my software was already up to date.

You're an overachiever!

Do you have the same Android Security Patch level as the one in the picture of the update info? If you still have the October 1 2016 security patch level listed, then you don't have the update that appears to be going out today.

When you do the power button/volume down and plug in factory reset, did you do the following:

- Complete power button reset, when TV boots up after reset, skip all the TV setup steps and go to the home screen
- Then navigate to the factory reset option in the TV settings menu and do that reset as well, and when the set reboots then complete all normal setup steps

When I just did the power button reset it didn't fix my problems.

When I did the two resets in a row (power button, then from TV menu) my set came back up normally after the second reset.

Might help you if you tried that. Or maybe my results were coincidence, but that's how the instructions on the Sony support page says to do it.

When I just did the power button reset it didn't fix my problems.

That's odd...hopefully they haven't broken that option - without it a set is dead if there's an issue requiring reset and you can't access the TV menus. Hopefully it was just a glitch that kept you from using the power/vol- reset.

What was the volume setting you had to change, in case others run into a similar issue after the security patch update?

Please note that when doing this it takes about 30 seconds for the LED to turn green and it might take a couple of tries to make it work.
