Do you guys know if apart from improving the picture is going to improve the motion?

Also, did you notice a lot of difference the 2013 users who added the 2014 evolution kit? What about the F9000, a lot or just a little bit?

Thanks player002.

The next question for someone who already upgraded last year with F9000 I would like to know if it is really worth it or not.. how much of a difference makes the new box

There is one minor tweak. Some (less than half) of the settings for white balance or CMS required a modification. Example would be if the original range for a setting was "0" to "100" with "50" being the middle/neutral point. Lets say my setting on the original OCB was "47". New OCB might have changed the range to "-50" to "+50" with "0" being the middle/neutral point. In that case I would change the transferred setting of "+47" to "-3" (i.e., to the original "3" below the neutral point). These corrections make an obvious improvement to the picture and after all were completed the grayscale and colors looked the same as the original.

Hope this makes sense.

Made a significant difference. Never regretted the expenditure. Worth every nickel.

European SEK-3500U/ZG is in stock at amazon.de, but its not sold by amazon, so I'm not sure I want to take the risk... Seems unlikely that one unknown shop has something that no one else has.

People in the UK who bought the 2500u/zg from Amazon Germany last year had to return them or wait quite a while for samsung to release a firmware to make them functional for a different market, beware.

I bought my 2500u/ZG from amazon.de last year and it works without any problems. My TV is the same as sold in UK (model number ends with same letters).
Last year it was sold in Germany before the required firmware update was released in Europe. Even German TVs could not use it before this firmware update was released. This was not wrong region issue.

All european devices are using the same firmware and last year the hardware was identical.
This year it looks like there is also a hardware difference between the ZG and XC versions. ZG version has two CI slots and XC has one.

It looks like we need a firmware update this year too. Someone tried a JS9500 OCB (its same as sek-3500u) with F9000 and it did not work.

Edit: It seems there is a update v2226.0 released on 29 April for F9000, so maybe that's the one we need.

If I remember correctly, someone tried the HU9000 OCB (same as sek-2500U) with a F9000 last year and it didn't work. Maybe there is a piece of software included with the "sek's" that distinguishes them from the current year OCB's and allows them to receive transferred settings, etc.; and work with the prior year models.

Maybe he tried before the required firmware update was released?
I have seen many reports that HU8500 (same as HU9000 in US) OCB works with F9000 and it certainly is using the same firmware, so I don't believe that's the problem.
I actually have both, but never bothered to test it.

I ordered it. Also posted a question to the store, to be sure it's exactly the SEK-3500 box and they have it in stock. If not, I can cancel the order anytime I assume.

I almost ordered it :-) But I have a feeling they don't really have it in stock yet... I sent a email to the seller today morning but haven't received a reply yet.
Please let me know if you get a reply or shipped notice.

I didn't receive any answer to my email, but ... surprise. I received shipment notification. Strange or great ?!

No -- you would need the SEK-2000 or the soon to be released SEK-3000

Very strange. Yesterday evening when I discovered it was in stock, it showed "Nur noch 2 auf Lager". Today, a few hours ago it showed only one left, but now it shows "Nur noch 2 auf Lager" again.

Did you get a parcel number? You are in UK? What's the expected delivery time?

I live in Romania. Delivery time shows: Mittwoch, 13. Mai 2015 - Freitag, 22. Mai 2015
But they also answered to my email and confirmed me that it's the latest box and requested my zipcode (I forgot to add it). About the stock, probably amazon doesn't update it on-the-fly for marketplace sellers.

Looks like I know what I'll be getting my parents for a gift this year. They bought a UN65HU8550 last year. They will be pleasantly surprised, as they don't follow tech stuff at all.

Did you get a tracking number?
I have not received a reply from this seller. Did you write in German or English?

I'm still trying to decide if I should buy it now or wait until amazon.de starts selling it... For some reason I don't trust this seller.

It seems no stock. And they ordered the box for me. I requested a clear shipping date from them or otherwise will cancel the order.

One Connect Cord

Hi, does anyone know how long the one connect cord is? My HU8550 is mounted on the wall, with all wires hidden behind the wall. How would I mount this, to hide the one connect cable? Can you order a longer cord with this?

Thanks, Jerry

I am using the F9000 with the original OCB. Plan is to upgrade to the SEK3500U. I am currently running firmware 2108 which appears to be the latest in the US. What are you referring to when you say "better motion"? Is that the ghosting (more pronounced when people are walking or running) I experience watching sports and shows? Thank you.

It was 10 ft long with both the 2013 One Connect and the SEK-2500u so expect the SEK-3500u will be the same. As per the first two, we were never able to order a longer cable. Maybe they will have one this time but I don't think so unfortunately.

I need about a 12' to hide in my walls. Any ideas on how I can accomplish that?

Unfortunately, it's a proprietary cable so will be hard to get an extender.

Better motion as in less artifacts and stutter. Ghosting is a bad thing not a good thing lol you would not want more of that ..

One thing I recall people doing with the Original Once Connect and again with the SEK-2500U was mounting the One Connect directly behind the TV on the wall using some sort of self made brackets. The downfall here is that it then makes the cable too long. Is there any place to cut out in the wall to accommodate the shorter cable? Most people don't want to do that and I completely understand that. You could also buy another cable from a site such as Samsung parts and attempt to splice the two together but I would be worried about that affecting performance, quality, etc.

I could try mounting it on the wall behind the TV. Not sure how, but I will work on it. Thank you!!

Hey can u do us a favor? Could you take a picture of your software page so we can see the difference btween the original numbers and the new? When your remote hit the menu Button, at the bottom go to "support", then at the bottom again go to "Contact samsung", take a picture of the page and post it! Thanks pal
