Same here, f9000 with sek3500. I started with the old one and then adjusted with settings from p5brown. It all about what you like. You also had the 2500?

I have 30 days to return my Roku 4 and may do that if I can't get an answer this week. I believe it is a 60hz problem with the Samsung. The new 4K Fire TV is supposed to be getting Ultraflix and outputs 4k 30HZ so turning off or customizing Auto Motion should be possible with 4K Fire TV.

Hi guys

For those with previous year model's, did the processor upgrade reduce your input lag?

If your talking about game lag = same or a tad better

If your talking about the voices not matching the mouths = perfect now using the ARC to receiver

If not one of them, please specify what lag you mean.

Thanks for that info. Maybe it's just the first year (F9000) Samsung 4K TV's that don't. You have your Roku display setting at 4K? I will have to call Samsung in the morning.

I am talking about game lag. How much improvement, in ms, did you experience with the upgrade?

I am thinking of buying JS9000 but the SUHD have horrible lag in PC mode. I am just wondering if future upgrade would bring it down to a reasonable level. ATM, I guess the improvement from SEK3500 on previous model is the most reasonable estimate on potential improvement for JS9000.

I'm having an issue since I got the SEK-3500 where most of the functions on my remote stop working (both egg remote and the one that comes with the SEK)
the touch sensitive part no longer works and I can't use any buttons except for source/menu etc.

Can't go up/down or choose any options. Have to power down the tv and remove the power cord for it to start working again. Possibly an bug with the Tizen OS? Anyone else had this issue.

Sorry, I used my eyes (and feeling), not any testing equipment.
Though I think I read someone here did test for this.
Hopefully someone will chime in with some measured tests for you.

Copy all your settings now (if any, all picture, apps, etc....)
You need to factory default the unit. (at least it worked for me, when I was getting weird problems)
In this order
1 - Menu , Smart Hub, reset Smart Hub
2 - Support, Self Diagnosis, Reset
Now see if your problem goes away before you restore all your settings and stuff, If not I you do this again BUT now don't accept the terms and unplug the 3500, put your original back or if like mine (its built in my TV so no other connect) and reset that first (same as above), do a evolution kit backup, then put back your 3500, of course don't forget to power off the TV and unplug it waiting for the LED to go out on the TV before unplugging or inserting the 3500.
Let us know how goes.

It's always questionable if any other set's calibration settings will be better on your set than default settings. There is no question about the fact that they will not be optimal (only optained by a metered calibration).

But, I believe you have the F9000 and p5browne has the HU9000. Therefore it's highly doubtful that his settings would be right for your set.

I used the CNET recommended settings for the F9000 and also found them excellent (vs the default) for use with the SEK2500. I did not install the SEK3500 on the F9000 because its strictly used now in the basement by visiting grandchildren; but I definitely would have started off trying the CNET settings with the SEK3500.

My recommendation would be to try the settings you have always used. Then try the "default" that came with movie mode on the set. See which of these two you prefer. I doubt that you will find recommended settings for the combination of the F9000 and SEK3500. If you do, you can always try/compare them (doesn't take more than 20 minutes) for their grayscale and colors. Of course, contrast, brightness and b/l should always be set specifically for your environment.

Spoke to Samsung support and they were of no help. 'If that's what it does then that's the way it is'. I also posted the same question to their FB support page which I have had better luck with in the past. At the moment it's looking like the Roku 4 will be returned. Except for the Auto Motion issue I really liked the Roku 4. I will try 4K Fire TV which will get Ultraflix sometime soon, or Nividia Shield, which has Ultraflix now. I think the Fire TV has a better search option across the different movie services. All this tech is changing and with that in mind perhaps spending $99 or Fire TV is better than $199 on Nividia Shield, especially since I am not a gamer.

Can you check your Auto Motion Plus setting to see if you can change it, or is it locked at the Standard setting with the Roku 4 on.

Upgraded UN65F9000 with SEK-3500 - Now all HDMI is green!

Hello,

I recently upgraded my UN65F9000 with the SEK-3500U. I was on the latest firmware (2112) on the original oneconnect. The upgrade appeared to complete successfully, however, now everything that is connected through HDMI is a bright green color. Any images that stream directly to the TV work correctly.

One strange thing is that any time I power on and off the TV, the picture mode shows as "Entertain", but when I look at the options, I only have Dynamic, Natural, Standard and Movie.

I am able to correct the bright green color by going in the picture mode menu choosing one of the other options (ie; natural) and then going into the HDMI black level menu. I dont even need to change anything in there. Just by going into the menu, the green color is corrected. This lasts until I power off the TV. Once I power back on, I need to redo these settings.

I have been through numerous Samsung remote support sessions, but so far no answers. Has anyone else heard of this issue? If so, any suggestions on how to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Dave

To those who got the SEK3500 during the holiday season. What are your thoughts and impressions? Worth the upgrade?

It seems that with updates the old OCB is catching up in picture quality. Just trying to figure out if it's still worth the upgrade or not.

Thanks!

Yup, I had the same issue with my Roku or my networked media tank connected via HDMI. I was able to correct this issue by selecting Menu>Picture>Entertain>Dynamic>Picture reset.

Doing this caused my Tivo which worked normally to now exhibit a purple color. Turning the TV off then back on resulted in my Tivo reverting back to normal settings. I could also do the Menu>Picture>entertain>dynamic>Picture reset function but I'm to lazy, turning the TV off then back on is quicker.

Other than what I just suggested, sadly there is no fix for this issue.

Thanks, Priuscat! If there is no long term fix, I may be forced to revert back to the original oneconnect. Any idea why this occurs on some TVs and not others? It does seem like some people have had success with the F series and the SEK-3500. It certainly seems like a software issue. Frustrating that it does not save the settings.

The last sentence is fair - it is your unique display. Replication on another LCD display - as unique as yours - doesn't bring the same results in most cases.

Can't go up/down or choose any options. Have to power down the tv and remove the power cord for it to start working again. Possibly an bug with the Tizen OS? Anyone else had this issue.
Yes! This has happened to me and it's annoying. I too have to unplug.

Bad news for anyone using the iscan mini and a dtv 4k box. For some reason the 4k box does not recognize that the tv can support 4k and won't let you check mark that resolution. Took the mini out and recognizes it fine. Looks like I'll have to permanently get rid of the mini which sucks because I really enjoy the enhancements.

My settings work on my set in my room.
Some whom have tried them, found the results better than they had, others virtually no change and others, not so good.
To everyone who decides to try, WRITE DOWN your Original values first, or take a photo. This goes with trying anyone else's settings, whether they be mine, CNET's or other Member's or non Member's.
You Brick it, it's in your hands, not mine! (If you're married, it can be a double whammy!)

Thanks,
Dave

All this stuff is a computer, and beings samsung's own OS, I would try a factory reset listed below and if that does not work then follow the 2nd option. (please read all before doing)

Copy all your settings now (if any, all picture, apps, etc...., or take pictures)
You need to factory default the unit. (at least it worked for me, when I was getting weird problems)
In this order
1 - Menu , Smart Hub, reset Smart Hub
2 - Support, Self Diagnosis, Reset
Now see if your problem goes away before you restore all your settings and stuff.
option 2 : If the problem is not fixed then do steps above again BUT now don't accept the terms and unplug the 3500, put your original back or if like mine (its built in my TV so no other connect) and reset that first (same as above), do a evolution kit backup, then put back your 3500, of course don't forget to power off the TV and unplug it waiting for the LED to go out on the TV before unplugging or inserting the 3500.
Let us know how goes.

Just a suggestion, I am not sure anyone else tried.

Have you tried the unplug trick overnight?
Check OCB cable is plugged in `ALL THE WAY' Should hear a click once it's in correctly.
HDMI cable contacts can become tarnished over time. Plug them in and out several times.
If nothing works, try to get a warranty replacement.
NOTE: Left hand end of the 3500 is ventilation - make sure it has plenty of room to circulate air.

I originally thought it had something to do with the infamous firmware update that occurred before the SEK3500U/ZA became available. What happened is some people that had this firmware installed experienced multiple power cycles of the TV and failure of the main board inside the panel.I was one of the "lucky one's" I simply unplugged my TV and re-connected my one connect, then swapped my one connect with the SEK2500U/ZA. the problem in my case disappeared with that swap. Edit: Except for the green screen.
