# 3 Still an argument as to us changing back to the old OCB and updating FW when it becomes available as a tangible upgrade, versus what is in the SEK-3500U FW updates. The Original OCB with current FW update, in appearance, is much closer looking to the SEK-3500U, than before.
1) It is readily available from Samsung, Best Buy, Amazon, Ebay, Tigerdirect, NewEgg, and a handful of others in the States. In areas where it isn't as widely available the support pages are still up.
2) I see your point but as a test last night I took my SEK-3500u off of my UN55HU8550 and checked for a firmware update, It promptly upgraded to 2340 with zero issues. So yes the ability to download yourself is gone but the firmware update exists just the same. I also contacted Samsung tech support to ask about the latest firmware, support, etc and they confirmed I was on the latest and that my set was fully supported (To be fair though the chat reps will kind of say anything to get a positive review so grain of salt here)
3) See point 2
So Basically your frustration is the inability to download firmware yourself vs the Set looking for it? I can't argue with you that it is strange that the hu series is gone from support but it follows the trend of the F9000. The F9000 was dropped from the site for good when the JS
Series/SEK-3500u came out. Granted F9000 owners had way more incentive to upgrade to the SEK-2500 since the original OCB was so limited and have absolutely no reason to ever go back to it.
Still i am not sure why you would go back to the SEK-2500U (Original OCB for HU Series) but you can just use the menu to update firmware to the latest. The TV has not been removed from the firmware queue and the latest is from April so they still fix things.
