1490, at least in Australia, does NOT bring HDR to Netflix.

Is anybody else on the forum figured out to have 4K resolution with the same stuff that I have?

Thanks a lot
Can't speak for HU7000 with the Arris but on my HU8550 I could only select 4K at 30fps as the TV didn't support 60fps (according to the Arris). Haven't tried the Arris on it with the SEK since the Arris is now connected to my KS8000. If I remember correctly I had to use HDMI 3 (MHL) for the Arris.

Although I have my Arris PVR VIP5662W normally hooked up to my HU9000 + SEK, once upon a time I have dragged my HU7000 TV (without SEK) from the bedroom into the living room to try out what you are attempting to do so when TELUS gets around to issuing a wireless 4K Arris STB I wanted to determine if I could get away without buying another SEK for the limited amount of 4K they are currently broadcasting (and none with HDR yet).

Just so happens I was able to plug the Arris PVR VIP5662W into the HU7000's MHL port 3 (the only port on that model that supports HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2) and receive 4K without requiring an SEK-3500.

When I had my Arris PVR plugged into the HU7000 (without SEK), it was capable of 3840 x 2160 / 60 but only at YCbCr 4:2:0 as depicted towards the bottom of page 201 from your manual thus the reason the HDMI UHD Color setting is always set to OFF and grayed out for that input which isn't a big deal unless HDR is what you are after from a UHD Blu-ray Player, game console, or other 4K device which would require an upgrade to the SEK-3500 to make all ports HDMI 2.0a with the higher YCbCr settings as well as some other added features.

My best guess is that the reason your screen is blacking out and returning to 1080p is that you do not have it hooked up to the MHL port (HDMI 3 on your TV) capable of HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2... or your cables are not up to the task of transmitting a full 18Gbps signal such as those marketed under the Certified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable program such as these that contain the Certified Premium Label...

Long cable lengths are generally not recommended and hard to find anything certified that are greater than 25 feet.

Netflix UltraHD HDR Content - Updated List

Marvel's Iron Fist available now in HDR!

In order to view HDR on your SEK-3500 make sure it is running the most recent Firmware Update [1481.1 in US and Canada] and the latest Smart Hub Netflix app which was recently updated to version 6.20001 dated February 21, 2017.

Keep in mind that you need to have an upgraded Netflix account which includes a subscription to their 4 screen UltraHD 4K content. For more on that, please visit the Netflix website for your country.

To save you all the time of having to go through the 4K movies to see which ones are HDR, here is a list for you courtesy of @ray0414 who maintains the Master List of Currently Available 4k HDR Titles thread. The first post contains all currently known 4K HDR content including UHD Blu-ray disks, downloadable content, as well as streaming content. Scroll towards the bottom of the first post to see what is currently available on Netflix.

Note: The following list applies to the United States and Canada. Although most of these are included in the Netflix app's UltraHD 4K section as shown in the attached thumbnail, I found that in a few cases they did not so I had to search for them to discover that, sure enough, they were also tagged as HDR

I can also confirm that 12bit, 4k/60 at 4:2:2, the HDMI 2.0 spec max, is supported on all inputs of the SEK-3500.

Regarding HDR on NF @Musician , Cosmos Laundromat was also in HDR here in the states, last time I checked.

Did you check for an update for the Netflix app? When we went to 1481 I believe the app needed updating for HDR.

Thanks @galonzo for the scoop regarding the HU without SEK.

As for Netflix, we don't get Cosmos Laundromat at all in Canada but there is only so much one can expect from a TV show filmed in a Laundromat in space, eh?!!

You are right. The HDMI-3 with UHD Colors Off is working in 4K with Arris and HU7000.

I guess is was the only INPUT that I did not try when I switched over HDMI inputs for testing.

Exclamation More Amazon HDR for Canadians!

First mentioned by @conan481 in another thread...

Amazon has finally added shows in UHD HDR for Canada.

So far they include:

-Sneaky Pete
-Goliath
-Red Oaks S2
-Mozart in the Jungle S3
-Transparent S3
-Man in the High Castle S2
-The Grand Tour

I currently don't have a subscription to Amazon myself (due to the current limited amount of content available) however, according to @conan481 the quality is excellent!

All I can say is...

It's about frickin' time BUB!!!

From the file you posted i was guessing you was in Australia (UA), don't forget peeps the SEK-3500-XC stands for Cross Continental, you could install firmware on it from other regions, doesn't mean it is the correct version though.

As has happened with quite a few Samsung updates it could be several days or even a couple of weeks before we all get the 1490 update.
