Yes, to the tune of 2-3x the bitrate on disk (one reason I only watch movies from a disk, other being uncompressed audio)

The Amazon cables are 26 gauge while these monoprice are smaller at 28 gauge.

From another thread: "Realistically, the pay for certification and testing doesn't guarantee you a good cable either, since testing protocol allows for batch testing and only tests for bandwidth and EMI performance at HDMI 2.0 specifications. I've receioved 50:50 good:bad Premium HDMI Certified cables."

So it sounds like it doesn't mean squat. And the 26AWG cables I've been using for the past four years are probably just fine.

Unfortunately, no, as this is the compression done on the material in order to efficiently send it out to the masses (so it's the same across devices per content provider; for example, Netflix is around 16 Mbps for UHD content, regardless of streaming device), whereas compression done on disk content is roughly maximized so that the movie comfortably fits on the disk (video on UHD disks maxing around 100Mbps, sometimes a little higher; so compared to Netflix UHD content, nearly 6x the bitrate ).

I also see better HDR from the Amazon app on the 3500 than I do the 4k Firestick. Use to watch "Mad Dogs' on the app but it doesnt look quite as good anymore.

They are. Went back to them and the HDR and audio for Man in the High Castle and Mandalorian looks and sounds great. As it has been. No need for other cables. Monoprice order canceled.

Many, many, many more brands and models to choose from all across Canada at Adpost.com by just changing the parameters at the top of their search page.

By clicking on their home page it would there are a number of different countries that Adpost represents and since all of them appear to show the pricing in the local currency I would assume the same goes for Canada and the prices shown above are in CAD dollars but you might want to confirm this.

Decided not to cancel monoprice select cable order and they arrived today. Larger diameter and more heavy duty than flimsy Amazons. Good HDR picture Thanks for recommendation.

The monoprice certified premium ultra slims showed up today. Sure look rinky dink compared to the humongous high speed select series w/ethernet. I question them but as you said the signal is digital. So quality matters not size.

2015 Samsung Evolution Kit

I'm desperately in need for some solid advice. I have a Samsung unhu9000 curved TV made in 2015 I recently purchased a new Samsung S E K - 3500 you Evolution kit for it. I updated my tv software, backed it up, powered down and unplugged it. I Connected my evolution box, plugged in the tv and powered it up. I only get a black screen! Can someone please help resolve this problem?

Thanks,
Dan

Did you do the Evolution Backup first?
Secondly, does the SEK-3500U have the 3.5" SEK-3500U sticker on the bottom of the unit ? White sticker only on the bottom, not the correct upgrade unit.

Make sure that the cable between the SEK and the HU9000 is firmly seated on both ends. Also, if using the cable that came with the SEK-3500, try substituting the cable that came with your HU9000. If using the cable that came with your HU9000, try using the cable for the SEK-3500 instead. HTH

Yeah things have to be done in a certain sequence. I remember having to pull the plug on mine and waiting for the red LED on the TV to go out before proceeding.

Watching Jack Ryan season 2 from a FS4K plugged into the back of my Denon AVR which is then connected to the 3500 using the monoprice certified HS ultra slim cables and I am blown away! The HDR picture and Atmos sounds of planes, etc. overhead is phenomenal! Movie mode, 20/100, brightness 42, sharpness 20, color 45, hdmi uhd color on, smart led high, cinema black on, dynamic contrast high, black tone off (for the moment), color space native.

For those wanting a Service Remote, but not wanting to buy one, there is a bypass shown in this YouTube Video that turns on the Advance Menu option in the SM. (First part, not the change values part.)
Note: I have tried this change values fix, and I DO NOT Recommend it ! I DO NOT recommend anyone going into the SM, nor ASM except to turn on the Expert Day and Night. If NOT sure what you're doing - strong advice - stay out of SMs and ASMs !

Probably unnecessary, but I'm upgrading from monoprice certified 4k ultra slim cables to their new 8k Ultra high speed 48Gbps slim cables. Just want the best signal possible and "future proof" my system. Got mine today.

May 9, 2020 CNET article on cables:
https://www.cnet.com/news/best-hdmi-...r-tv-for-2020/

I bought a monoprice certified premium 3' set. Has official ceritified seal on package. Am returning non-certified 8k ultra slim set. And non-certified cable matters 3' 8k ultra high speed set.

But if the monoprice premium certified are so good, why are there 111 critical reviews on Amazon saying they're junk? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/reviews...yStar=critical
