Yes, it supports HDCP 2.2.

It mounts with a normal wall mount. It comes with spacers to make the wall mounts parallel. The mount connects to the bottom of the TV.

I used a full motion mount so I could pull it off the wall when I needed to get behind it. It is quite heavy.

Anyone set their colors to BT.2020? Been having that setting for a month and I love it! Of course, I scaled the other color settings back a bit when using BT.2020.

Can you do this when just using a setting such as Movie, Standard, Vivid, etc. and not tweaking anything else?

I think i can use the same mount I used on my Samsung 75' TV. It's capable of holding up to a 80' TV
Does the the TV do [email protected]?

I was wondering if that would need an installer to come out or would they just send me the equipment and I would just connect it myself. I would actually prefer to have them send out an installer so maybe I could talk him into freeing up the Coax in the family room where my 940 is that they used back in 2001 when I first had Direct TV installed.
Mt, yes, the C61 is the Mini Genie and must be connected to a UHD TV. I have both the HR54 & the C61 hooked up to the Sony. I do that because I find the HR54 much faster than the C61 and use that as my main box. I use the C61 only for 4K from Directv. As you know, the client boxes are always slower than the actual DVRs.

Generally Directv will insist on an installer coming out with a box like the HR54. I was lucky when I picked it up at my satellite dealer in that there were almost none of these in the entire NE. That was about 2 months ago and it may not be as bad now.

Just remember that setting the color space to 2020 will render inaccurate colors when watching Rec709 content.

Depending on where the Samsung mounted you may have to move it down a bit on the wall to get the TV at the same height.

Yes, it support [email protected]

No, that's what makes this ground-breaking. The 4K is coming directly from the satellites. Directv now has room for 50 4K channels. Of course there isn't enough content for that, but the capacity exists.

Based on what I'm seeing on the test channel, the quality is excellent. I can go right up to the screen and discern more detail and no real artifacts. There is zero buffering.

There is no stand-alone '4K DTV box' per se, but their latest box, the HR54 works in conjunction with the client box, C61, which does output true 4K. So to the viewer, it's the same as having a dedicated 4K box.

my 940C is on a BDI "corridor" stand 79" wide- comes in 2 heights- 20" & 28"- BDI is pricey but well made, on wheels & looks good-
just noticed that crutchfield doesn't have 75X940C listed any more on their site today- in past it was low quantity at $6k price or lately out of stock.

Do you have information that Sony plans to stop production of the 940C any time soon? I would tend to think as long as there's a demand Sony will keep making. Either way, I hope this is not the last with the speakers. I love the speaks and rather have those than a stupid soundbar or AV receiver on all the time.

I just received my 940c yesterday and it was made in June 2015; does that mean they were all made early last year and then they stop production? I saw some one else post that their recent 940c was made in May 2015. I saw that crutchfield was out of stock for a while.

what type of 3d glasses does the 940c use? Also can the 940c be wall mounted, and what would be the best mount for this tv.

I went with this mount from MonoPrice: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=12278

You can still get to most of the input ports with a fixed mount, thought it's a very tight squeeze.

It uses active shutter lenses with Bluetooth. Any brand should work as long as it is certified with Full HD 3D Glasses Initiative. Personally, I use the Panasonic TY-ER3D4MU. They work flawlessly with the 940C and can often be found on sale at amazon or at Best Buy for as little as $20 a pair. I have my 940C wall mounted with the Monoprice Full-Motion TV Wall Mount for 60-100 inch TVs, UL Certified. It costs $45 right now + shipping.

You and me both, but I also do not want to spend 5-6k and not have Dolby Vision Support. HDR is available but I have a suspicion that Dolby will be the way to go in the future.

You do need an HR54 & C61 client box.
I don't have the C61 but I do have the RVU client (not activated yet) on the 940C. Wouldn't that work as well or is the physical device required for some reason?

Thanks,

Great question. I would think it should work.

Try this: Go to Smart Search and type in IAMANEDGECUTTER and then hit enter. Of course you'll need the RVU activated. With that said, we do know the c61 works.

As bizarre as it sounds, entering the phrase, worked and unlocked the 2 channels.
