Just bought this TV and have serious problems with "White Clouds" over any black part of the image, also "judder" is very VERY bad when watching movies. I was able to calm the jutter problem down in menu system, but the white spots over the tv basically leaves my picture unwatchable.

My audio is on film mode, and sounds nice and loud. But it's never level. It usually gets noticeably lower. It comes and goes. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Just updated to 1443 firmware via auto update when I got home today and turned on the TV. I got 1440.3 back in early January. There aren't any release notes on samsungs site and the latest release according to the site was released back in December. Anyone else seeing this?

Thinking of getting the 65" model but hate going from 70" to 65" so has anyone done this and what are your feelings?

Also about the 60hz - how will that effect gaming with this tv? Also how much does the 4k effect your frame rates?

Looks like no one comes here anymore?
I just got the 65" and need to know some things that are a mystery so far. One is with my old Sharpe I could have one hdmi cable come from my Denon and switch inputs between the pc, tv, cable, blu ray. But this tv won't let that happen. If I try to use one cable from Denon it will only provide cable tv and if I try to switch cable tv to pc on the Denon all I get is a black screen. So only way I can run pc is from a seperat hdmi cable and input so now sound is a problem.

How do you have your Reciever/TV setup and hooked up?

I just ordered this set using my Aeroplan points. I did some research and although this is not their top of the line set, I am basically getting it for "nothing". Otherwise I would not spend several thousand on a newer 2016 model anyways and this set seems like a good deal even if I bought it. I am upgrading from a 48" Vizio I got in 2011.

I don't really care about HDR... I have read enough about it and I'll leave that "fun" for the early adopters to waste their lives on - making sure the picture is good (and they have to watch in a dark room else it supposedly doesn't look very good). Supposedly there is HDR update for this TV but I don't believe it supports what the higher end sets will do. Unless I have HDR set right beside mine to compare, I won't really know (or care) what I am missing.

I also am not too concerned with 4K (I am just getting it mainly for the bigger size 65") since most of what I will watch is broadcast HDTV, AppleTV, Plex, Kodi, and playing a bit of Xbox One. Of course I may try out Netflix and some other services and one day get a 4K BluRay, but I really watch most of my content streaming and I think that would be a step backwards using those physical discs.

Can't wait till it gets here... they say 3-5 weeks but hoping it is closer to the 3 weeks.

A few questions:

Do I have to download update and flash or will it flash the updates automatically once I connect to the internet?

I have a Harmony Ultimate and have read it has issues with discrete HDMI 4 input IR code that doesn't work. They have a workaround now using macro and sounds like they do by setting it to HDMI 3 and doing an input up to HDMI 4. Does anyone have any more information on this?

Is there a Plex app?

I had this also on my new set. I had read somewhere else before I got it that by taking a soft cloth and gently wiping the screen with a small amount of force in the area of the clouds solves. Surprisingly it worked for me and I greatly minimized these clouds. There are still a couple areas but they are barely noticeable. Seems like there are reflectors or something in between the lcd and backlight that may loosen or form a gap and lightly pressing on screen fixes.

I received my set earlier than I thought. It is a huge upgrade in screen size from my 48" Vizio!

I did experience the white clouds on black screen that someone else mentioned but I responded already with what fixed for me.

To answer some of my own questions briefly...

Updates automatically (was already on latest version)
Didn't have issue with HDMI 4 yet and didn't see in detail how harmony handles it since I don't have 4 devices currently plugged in.
Plex app is available for download - works good (now I have 3 ways to view Plex on my TV instead of 2 LOL)

I cannot get it to output DD 5.1 to my Sonos Playbar. Still working on this.

Tried a 4K x265 file I downloaded, played via USB and looks pretty nice.
Watching some 1080p BluRay rips look amazingly good and I sorta agree what I read in lots of places - that 4K/UHD may not be as big of a deal at viewing distance I am at.
Don't notice any judder.

Ok, I got DD 5.1 working. I also got DTS transcoding from my AppleTV using MrMC (Kodi port). This is required because Sonos Playbar does not support DTS.

The issue was getting Dolby Digital selected
Seems that the option to select Dolby Digital was grayed out and only PCM was selectable (well, and a DTS Neo 2:5 which I didn't know what that is)...

Menu, Sound, Additional Settings, Audio Format.

What I had to do is play back a video with Dolby Digital and while it was playing I could go into this same Sound settings and select Dolby Digital. Once I did that the TV knows the setting and will seem to flip between PCM and Dolby Digital depending on the source.

For my AppleTV, I set Settings, Surround Sound to Dolby Digital 5.1

How to get DTS from MrMC...

The instructions I follow online did not work and I would get silence when playing back DTS:

Set "number of channels" to 2.0.
"Output configuration" to optimised.
"Enable Passthrough" on
"AC3 capable receiver" on
" - Enable Dolby Digital transcoding" on
"DTS capable receiver" off

After experimenting I changed the number of channels from 2.0 to 5.1 and now it works perfect and transcodes DTS to Dolby Digital 5.1 on the fly. Can verify in Sonos App it sees Dolby Digital 5.1 (Sonos, About Sonos System)

Plex on AppleTV also is transcoding to Dolby Digital 5.1 (believe it picks up AppleTV settings).

However, Plex App on Samsung TV outputs Dolby 5.1 but won't transcode DTS to Dolby Digital 5.1 and therefore defaults to PCM. Here is strange thing - I find that after playing a DTS movie in this TV Plex app then I have to go back and manually select Dolby Digital again for subsequently DD 5.1 videos afterwards (eg. playing back from AppleTV) or it defaults to PCM/Stereo in the TV. Not sure if other TV apps have same affect.

Hope this helps someone...

The white clouds on the screen are very annoying lots of flash lighting going on. I will deal with it at $1500 price point. If I paid any more I would take it back. Besides that I absolutely love the TV and it is only noticeable on a black background while anything is being displayed on the screen I don't notice it. No issues with judder for me and I have all the motion crap off cause I'm using this 65" as a PC monitor in Chroma 4.4.4 and game mode. Movies and everything look wonderful. Gaming at 4k is breathtaking. The entry price into OLED is just too steep for all the features I want. MY next move is OLED or a 4k projector this guy will hold me off until prices get a little better. Overall I'm happy with the TV for the price.

So I went ahead and purchased this TV and I am very impressed. Scored big time at the 699.00 price, hell I would of been happy paying more. Fantastic picture and the off axis viewing is fine. I love the remote control with the pointer feature.

Did we have Amazon HDR before?? I tried it the other day, but it wasn't working. Now it is. Although I tried The Grand Tour before which was partially messed up in the Amazon listings and didn't always offer HDR depending on how you selected it. So I'm not sure if it changed or not.

I just upgraded my Xbox One to an Xbox One S. I had my Xbox on HDMI 3. Xbox One S gives detailed HDMI information but showed that all of the HDR10 settings were unavailable with warnings indicating was disabled. I remember reading that this TV does support HDR but only on HDMI 1. I swapped inputs and enabled UHD Color on HDMI 1, and sure enough - now all the HDR settings are enabled in Xbox One S showing nice green checks for everything. I realize that this TV is not as capable as a real HDR one, but it makes be feel better

Sports Mode

What are the best settings for watching sports besides the sports mode. I just got the TV and would like to figure out best settings. I also had a blurr judder problem but figured it out. The TV upgraded to 4K 30hz when I ran Directv HDMI through my Onkyo receiver. Ran it straight to TV no blurr or judder and displays actual HD 1920X1080 60i. I probably need to fix setting on my receiver unless someone knows about a setting on the TV. I am trying to like this TV but my Samsung 50" 1080p seemed to have a better picture. Any suggestions on the different settings would help especially in Dynamic or Standard mode.

Hi.
I bought a UN65JU6700.-

1- I can´t find a way to control the volume of the headphones.-

2- I only can turn off the screen and play only audio through the speakers if the source is HDMI. Does not work when a video is playing from a hard drive connected via usb.-

Thank you very much for your help.
