Please vote to put Kodi on Tizen for Samsung TVs.

Please vote if you would like Kodi available on Tizen for your Samsung TV.

You can do this 2 ways.

1) Vote here:
https://bugs.tizen.org/jira/browse/TINF-722

You'll have to create a user profile to do so.

2) Vote here in the poll at the top of the thread.

FYI, here is a discussion of the issues the developers are facing in doing so.

And what will the result bring ?
Force the Kodi developers to make it workable ?
You know it's a open source project where developers work on in there free spare time for free.
If you want Kodi on your tv and no separate device then get a device that runs Android like the Sony and Philips then you're able to side load it.

I run Linux on multiple devices already. I have multiple Raspberry Pi devices around my house. I can easily run Kodi on an external device.

There are several advantages to running Kodi on the TV itself.

- I don't have to buy an external box
- I don't have to place an external box close to the TV
- Everything will run from one remote (ie the TV's)
- The external Kodi device would need an HDMI 2.0 port in order to support 4K. Very few HTPCs have an HDMI 2.0 port and those that do aren't cheap
- It would be much less confusing for my wife to use

That's a list of your pros and cons,
Even that you're missing a few things in your line-up.
Ever heard of CEC ? Works well with one remote.
You forget the part about needing a source for the 4k media.
And you only need a decent GPU or a new MB for HDMI 2.
Switching to another input on the remote is as easy as switching to another channel.
Or get a decent harmony remote.
My kid could use my HT setup when she was 4 because of the harmony.

But except the pros and cons,
Do you think a poll will result that the devs will be forced to make a workable Kodi for the Samsung tv's. ?
Why not ask Samsung to use Android as OS ?
Or just get a TV that runs Android.
Problem solved.

Grab a chromebox and attach using the vesa mount that comes with it to the TV.

Who needs 4K?... just go see your optometrist.
