I saw that...so tempted right now. I'm holding out of an 80" P series next year lol! If my DLP goes out before then, I'm on it.

Welp, I waited out the 90-day return period on my M55 in hopes that the U. S.-based Costco warehouses would start carrying the P-series sets, but alas no dice, so I just pulled the trigger on a P50 at a discounted price via Costco.com. Time to pack up the M55 and get it back to my local warehouse by Monday.

I've looked at both in person and both look amazing, although the demo BB was showing on the P65 was super boring and the KS demo looked amazing, but was almost too over the top as far as colors go. The P65 was much more realistic and felt like I was looking at really nice photos vs really nice paintings if that makes sense.

I had some concerns with the P65 though so I spoke with someone at Vizio earlier today. My first concern was over watching Amazon. They told me I can watch Amazon on it with a third party device such as a Fire Stick or Box. Knowing I can do that is not an issue for me as I can still watch Amazon one way or another on this display. I was also concerned about wifi connectivity while casting. I asked if I connect an Ethernet cable to the display itself will it pull the internet from that or from the wifi the tablet is receiving. I was told if an Ethernet cable is plugged in it will pull the internet source from that automatically and not use the wifi signal the tablet is receiving. If that is true, that's very nice to know as my wifi signal always sucks. (might be my phone that just sucks though)

There are things I really like about both the KS and the P65, but the main reason I'm leaning towards the P65 other than the fact that it's full array and the blacks look darker than the ink from an octopus (for an led tv) is I've read a lot of people having issues with the back panel on the KS separating from the tv even after they've had it repaired once or twice. I can't bring myself to spend that much money on something that is going to have a reoccurring problem like that.

My question for you guys that own the P65, have you had any problems pop up with it like that of the KS? Build quality issues or things that has needed replacing or repairing multiple times? What are the common issues/problems with it? Things I should know about or be aware of if I do purchase it.

Thanks for any info guys!!
Doesn't the tablet it come with connect via Bluetooth as well as other control devices or??? Either way, it definitely pulls the actual data streaming signal from Ethernet, if connected... Also, I wouldn't worry about longevity with either model, just get a SquareTrade warranty. Also, the big deciding factor is this (from my research): If you watch mainly in darker rooms go with the Vizio for the inky blacks and infinite contrast with FALD or if you like to watch more in well lighted rooms go with the Samsung for it's overall brightness, including amazing HDR highlights... But keep in mind Samsung only supports HDR10 while Vizio supports DV as well, if that's a concern for you, which to me is pretty important, although many streaming services apparently plan on supporting both or HDR10... So price is also a factor, not talking deals and such here, but the Samsung seems to be had on special for less than the P series quite frequently.

I picked up a P65 a few weeks ago for my newplace and have really loved it.

I don't love Vizio Smartcast at all. I'm a TWC subscriber but can't access casting through the watch espn app. the casting from the hbo go app has been laughably horrendous- I've been using my PS4 but TWC isn't supported through the ps4's watch espn app.

Literally not a big deal, but now I have to go out and get a chromecast or roku? Frustrating to have 3 different streaming devices and none of them work.

TV looks great though

They are going to add functionality later for other cable companies so you can stay in the vizo app and do stuff like that.

For now, just download the TWC cable apps, - they let you control all the channels, etc, from your PHONE.

The only major sports App that I'm aware of that has a built-in Cast button is Fox Sports Go.

What are the other ones waiting for?

I'm thinking about buying a P series for my PS4 Pro. What's the smallest size that uses the VA panel, 50 inches? How does the HDR look with the Pro. It's this or the Sony 43X800D but I want the DV support.

Charging Dock

Will it do any damage to the TV if you plug the Charging Dock directly into the TV USB Port?

Specs for the USB port are here http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/308342b

...but personally I would not do it, And USB charging is notoriously slow, not to mention this is a "wireless" charger.

I don't think those ports will put out the amps for phone charging. They are more designed to power a Chromecast type thing

I tried searching this thread and see a lot of comments on buying a third party stand, but I don't see any recommendations for the P-75 in particular. The stands I'm looking at on Amazon are all for under 100 lbs. Any of you who bought a third party stands for your P-75 have any advice?

Here's a few I found, but none of 'em are cheap. I've a 64" wide glossy black Plateau now that I bought due to its low profile(16" high for my 82" DLP). Problem is my Apple router is 7' tall and won't fit in the [email protected]#$% shelves!

I ended up ordering this one. Shop Jimmy's wouldn't commit to it working, but said it should.

I couldn't find the VESA stats for that stand on their page. Hope the holes line-up ok.

The feet spacing for that stand you ordered will be just shy of 16" (400mm x 400mm) apart.

I saw another video where this dude mounted to his TV and the feet gap was quite narrow!

It was only $33 so if it doesn't work no biggie. My other option is to get a long piece of laminated wood that I can lay across my current TV stand and then use the included legs. The TV stand I have is an old IKEA coffee table that actually matches my other furniture quite well, but I have no issues using wood screws to bolt the TV to the stand if necessary.

I have this stand on my M70 and it works fine. How is it working on your 75"?

P65-C1 Surround Sound Issues

I have tried searching through this forum and across Google, but I haven't found a solution to this problem yet.

I can't get surround sound from my PC to my surround sound system. Currently, my PC is running HDMI to input 5 and then I am using ARC on HDMI 1 to transmit audio to my receiver. I get stereo audio perfectly for my PC, but nothing other than stereo is an option under Windows-Sounds-Playback. I see P65-C1-4, but when I click configure, my only option is for stereo audio. I don't have optical output on my PC, so that is not an option and analog sounds terrible.

However, when I use the Xbox One S, my audio is also transmitted via ARC on HDMI 1 and I do get full 5.1 surround. This leads me to believe it is a problem with the TV or PC configuration. I am hoping someone on here has ran into this exact issue or may know how to cure it.

Setup:
P65-C1
Denon AVX3200W Receiver w/ a 5.1 speaker arrangement - HDMI 1
PC (Nvidia GTX 980) - HDMI 5
Xbox One S - HDMI 2

I don't think the nvidia sound processor is capable of encoding PCM audio into DTS or dolby digital, which is what you'd need to utilize ARC passthrough of surround sound from the computer. What I did was use one of my other video ports, dvi-d or display port both work, with an hdmi adapter and connected that to my surround sound system to get the PCM 7.1 signal. Yes you have to switch tv and amp inputs separately every time, but it's a limitation of ARC with hdmi 2.0 that you can't pass through PCM surround.

Hey guys, pretty new to this. I have a P65-C1, Denon s720w w/ 3.0 speakers, Xbox One S, and cable TV receiver that I usually like to have plugged into my Xbox One S. What would be my best solution for getting the most out of my system as far as which HDMI ports to use, how to hook up ARC or if I even want it, and ensuring DV and HDR10 are working properly? Thanks!

you need ARC if you use external speakers. there will be a port on the tv that says ARC plug that end into the ARC port on your avr. with the p series stay away from hdmi port 5 that is a hdmi 1.4 port and cannot do 4k at 60hz. you want to get this set calibrated you spent enough money for another $200-$500 for a calibration.

AFAIK there are no 4k calibration discs yet however you can probably find one on this forum i haven't checked.
