Is there any settings that "don't work" as expected. Meaning like does "reduce judder/motion blur" actually do what it is supposed to do or are we gonna need firmware fixes like the M series.

Also I don't know if you are much of a gamer or anything but aside from the contrasts levels in your Mad Max shot you mentioned that normal Xfinity TV had better color tones, but you wouldn't recommend this as an upgrade for 1080p sources? Is that due to the upconversion engine? Thanks.

Plan on hitting up Best Buy later to get mad max in 4k to try out vudu hdr

edit: and to anyone saying not to worry about the dead/stuck pixels. I'm not actually too concerned there, was just mentioning it. My real issue is getting the TV to connect
Out of curiosity is your TV connected via WiFi or ethernet? I have had some real issues getting Google Casting to work well over Wifi in the past on my Nvidia Shield.

I only say it's not a good 1080p upgrade if you have NO intention of going UHD/4k. Otherwise, it's outstanding and a no brainer if you can afford one in the size you're after.

I'm curious. What build number do you have?

Go to settings > system > system information > system information

Under cast version I have 1.17.46921

I thought it was interesting you mentioned firmware updates. I've yet to run into any reboots

Heck, if somebody can help me figure out my connection problems I'll live with the minor dead pixel problem

I have ethernet connected. I also set it up to connect to wifi. The weird part is, if i factory reset the TV and leave the ethernet unplugged, I can't get the app to see the TV at all. It's pretty frustrating for something that should be dead simple

Outside of the pause icon; you can see some blooming around the text too if you look for it.

I haven't seen a FALD which this doesn't happen on (credits). I was only commenting it's really subjective to make any decisions on it from a photo. And if the photo depicts what you see in person then it's outstanding!

1.18.60081. It could be the VUDU app.

I believe the 50" is a 60Hz native panel while the others are 120Hz. That's the reason I don't want the 50". Then the 55" is an IPS panel and I don't want that and the 65" is too big for me! I'm waiting to see what they do to the new M series.

lol; if your brightness isn't adjusted right on your monitor it'll be difficult to see the blooming. (that's a good thing! and yes it's subtle)

Also, it's easier to see around "Tom Hardy" than it is over "Charlize Theron"

Curious why you say that...is it poor upscaling or something else?

All streaming, including that on sets with built-in apps, depends on internet speed. Casting is no different.

i see you upgraded from a 2015 M. how's the motion on this years P-Series? i find with the 2015 M, fast action scenes are hard to concentrate on.

Personal evaluations come from many factors and from many different threads and most can come to a personal decision. But I do agree if these panels are the same as Sony panels then that leaves the processing, me thinks. The reports here so far show at the moment on par results. Motion and if upscaling DVD's is important then the results are not yet in. A tablet to cast applications is a novel but not family friendly unless you know a lot about Google casting, (I certainly don't). Motion needs evaluated so hopefully rtings.com will be swift. I am very interested in this Utilitarian Display.

You should start a seperate thread comparing the 940d and the P. This would be an interesting show down. I'm basically buying the 940d or this Vizio P. If the P shows no real flaws, I'm in.

Curious, I'm wondering if we can get screen shots of whites and color saturation.

Also, how is motion during sports? Any ghosting?

So for the owners how is the tablet, does it seem durable? And is there any way to charge it outside the dock? Can it just be plugged in USB. Also do the physical volume buttons change the TV volume or only the tablet volume?

So is there an app that will let one watch Amazon 4K even if it doesn't support HDR? Or is another device required (Firestick, UHD BluRay, etc.)?

My guess, and I hope I am right, is that you could use any device that supports google casting. That would mean an iOS device could cast the amazon app in 1080p.

You'll have to wait either for new Blu-Ray models with Dolby Vision later this year, or when the Samsung UHD Blu-Ray player is updated to play HDR.

Amazon doesn't have a 4K streaming app for iOS. They've specifically left Apple out of that.

You can get a Roku 4 that will play the Amazon 4K library at 60 fps, but it will not be HDR.

Its not the device but the App that needs to support casting and to the best of my knowledge Amazon doesnt even support 1080p (much less 4k) casting in any iOS or Android App.
