Nice they'll offer the M with HDR. Hopefully they'll be able to software upgrade existing M owners. WCG is a real value add for the P.

There is nothing special about the tablet. It is effectively an off the shelf tablet with the Vizio App installed. You can use any app that has a cast function.

Do we know when season 2 of Daredevil will get dolby vision?

Side note, youtube playlists don't seem to work for me. Instead of playing the next video in the playlist it just goes back to the default cast screen

This is a huge improvement for me over the older p series! Currently, To get the best response on any twitch type shooter, I have to have it in game mode, which disables all processing. For normal games I keep it in calibrated and turn on the low latency which retains a great picture. If we can now get 15ms in game mode and it retains a good pic, I would be so impressed!

A TiVo set top box would be a less complicated (but more expensive) solution if you need to worry about WAF. However, it won't fit behind a wall-mounted TV, so you would have to reroute that coaxial cable or locate the box in another room and use a device with the TiVo app to feed the signal to the TV.
Thanks. I realized I actually have an Amazon Fire TV already so can use that for Kodi.

(Also, had to look up what WAF was. Amusing.)

Chroma 4:4:4 on 2016 P Series?

Hi Thomas (or anyone else who has a set) I know you're probably getting lots of requests but if you have an HTPC connected up to your P series, would you be willing to do the "Quick Brown Fox" chroma torture test in 1080p or otherwise?

I just returned my M60-C3 yesterday. One of the few things I didn't love about the M60 is that it did not do not pass the chroma test as well as my old 2007 Samsung 5265F, see pics. I'm wondering if things re: chroma 4:4:4 have improved in the 2016 P series? Thanks!

Between now and Fall was his previous answer. Because of exclusivity I am sure he can't say exact else take sales away from current agreement.

He already directly answered this. It will be a Best Buy and Vizio.com exclusive until "the Fall." You're not going to get a more specific answer than that.

Also, that statement does not preclude the possibility that the 2016 Vizio M Series will be released at Costco's before then.

Is there any reason for me to expect to exchange tv's and get sent one without any defects? Serious question. I don't know how picky I should be here.

edit: it's not like I can see it from where I sit. And I certainly can't see it with a video playing. Feels like something to not be concerned about. Unless somebody tells me I should feel otherwise

Has it been clarified if Best Buy means sold under the Best buy banner or are the P models being sold under the Magnolia HiFi banner or both?

I purchased mine via BB website for store pickup on Wed nite. The Magnolia rep called me the next day asking if I wanted to buy the extended warranty. Might be a clue.

I am not familiar with Vizio and the lottery of getting another bad screen, but if you're not happy with the product, I would return it. From the picture you posted I would return my TV. That does not look normal, and the implications for the quality of the TV down the road is questionable.

Panel question

Matt,

I have a few questions about the custom AUO panels for the P-series, mainly the for the P65.

1) What is the native/capability of bit depth on the panel, 10-bit+FRC, 10 bit or 8 bit+FRC?

2) Are you doing any special coating (I.g. Phosphor) or just specificly manufacturing the color filters on each sub pixel to meet 96% DCI P3?

3) What is the pixel response (gray to gray)?

Unrelated to the panel, but does Vizio have any plans to release its own UHD DV Bluray player? That would really complete the Vizio home theater.

Thanks again for being here and responding to questions and giving specs. This kinda of customer service is rare and scores Vizio major points!

As you can imagine... we are now getting close to secret sauce :-) I can tell you that the panels are true 10bit (not 8bit + FRC dithering etc). And I can tell you that to reach this color fidelity we modified LED phosphors and chemistry AND spec'd custom color filters.

We have no plans for UHD Bluray... there will be tons of players out there... we are focused on maximizing streaming quality and quality from external sources.

Thanks!
I connected my pc to the p65 and got 4:4:4 at 30. When i tried 60 the screen got all green and purple on me.
