Yes, redeemed the code this afternoon and watching it through Vudu, 4K + DV, right now.

I have an older receiver, early 1080P upscaling days. Is there any issue you can forsee with running 4 devices into the TV and then using the HDMI ARC on HDMI 1 back to the receiver?

Anyone running the P with a Harmony remote? I know I will be eventually going with an external box route for everything, but for now it would be nice to know what commands actually work through IR.

I think the tablet idea is cool, but I just don't want to be crippled by it.

Regardless, this is an incredibly exciting TV, and coming from someone who never thought he'd buy a VIZIO -- this is just what the market needs. So smart. This will perfectly fit the bill until the ideal "ultimate tv" comes around. Right now any high end TV is a compromise, so I'm not willing to invest in something expensive at this point.

If you search through the owners thread, thomasfxit has reported back in regards to Harmony use.

No video track scrubbing in any casted video other than Play and Pause... Everything else can be programmed or works with the M series codes.

Scrubbing will be complicated and it's a bit of a drag on the tablet as implemented by Vudu. Netflix has a preview as you ff or rw at least.

Thank you for the tip! I went ahead and purchased a 10% off coupon off ebay for $23 (not from the seller you mentioned because they weren't selling any anymore) and it was delivered to me through email within 2 minutes. I went ahead to Best Buy and pulled the trigger on the 65P-C1, applied the coupon and wallah, it worked I almost couldn't believe the whole plan came together as it did. The sad part for me is that it won't be delivered until April 7th, which seems like an eternity when you are anticipating something new and shiny.

I do think I want to purchase a warranty for this television so I have some sort of protection. The last time I purchased a warranty it was from Circuit City when they were still around about 8 years ago but so many things have changed since then. I purchased the TV without the Geek Squad plan at the time but I have also heard rumblings about SquareTrade and getting a SquareTrade warranty through Costco. Not sure what way to go here. It doesn't even look like I can purchase a Geek Squad warranty after the fact now but only at the purchase time, is that right? Anyone with experience in some or all of the different warranties have a suggestion?

Thank you!

I'm a happy Kuro 60" owner looking for a HDR and WCG TV in a larger size.

Rather fascinating that LG's new G6 OLED started shipping the same week as this TV!?!?

Too bad I really want a size upgrade. $20,000 for an LG OLED 77" compared to this TVs $3800 for a 75"?!?!

This TV is looking pretty satisfying!

Cheers,

^ I'm in the same boat. Want bigger and the best PQ, but the P75 pricing vs OLED is too great to dismiss. My Kuro is still going strong and still looks great. Then I come here and read all the great things which just aggravates my upgradeitus. P75 or B6.....

Yes, 65" isn't much of a size upgrade for me since I already have the 60", but HDR and WCG are upgrades too. If you have a great internet connection that might be more motivation to upgrade since more content would be available to you, but since I don't I'm waiting for HDR/WCG content on Blu-ray to become more available. If I get this "TV"/monitor it'll likely be for my summer binge watching. If not summer then I'll likely wait till winter binge watching...and so on.

It is exciting to watch these threads, and a real relief, it's been quit awhile to wait for something significantly better than what we own. I got my Kuro in 2007! It doesn't always power up correctly (once in about 20 power ups, maybe twice a month), it powers on but there's no picture, not even a TV menu/OSD will pop up, so far power cycling it again does the trick...but the picture still looks great! I'm very happy and relieved to have a monitor like the Vizio P available since I may not be able to upgrade on my own time table! And it may very well give OLED a run for it's money, especially in >70" sizes.

I'm very curious to read if someone can push this TV to 99% or 100% of p3 once they start calibrating in a few weeks!

Cheers,

The specs look great.

However, it is disappointing that Vizio chose a distracting, reflective silver frame/bezel for this new P series.

Vizio needs to introduce the PB series, with black bezel

seriously with full array dimming and excellent black levels, a black bezel should be standard

IMO

Alrighty it is done!
Just ordered the P65 from Visio
waiting now to hear when it will be shipped/delivered.
The discussions on these forums have totally sold me. I had been researching a purchase for the last couple months, I was just about to pull the trigger on the M60-C3 when Visio announced the release of the P serious. I am a newbie to AV, have been watching a 40 inch Toshiba (1080p) for the last 5 years or so. I can't express how excited I am to be getting this monitor, despite spending twice the money.
I have learned a lot reading the forums.. more learning to do!
Thanks everyone for what you add to this forum.
