They aren't for sale yet, but at least it's all listed on the site now. Price and specs and whatnot. That's a good sign.

I personally am waiting to see if I should get the 65" P-Series or M-Series. there is a $500 difference, need to see some reviews to see if it is worth it. I'm not really a videophile or anything, either is going to be a huge upgrade from my current TV, but still want to make sure I get the best bank for my buck for gaming and movies.

Make me 3. Same 73" Mitsu, I am most likely going to get the 70" M because of price.

The 55 inch P is 120 HZ but has an IPS panel and I believe the 55 inch M is going to have a VA panel but be 60HZ. Why does Vizio do this? If the P was a VA panel I probably would have bought it already. If the M was 120Hz I would buy it as soon as it's available. So for now I'm waiting......

The 50 and 55 say clear action 360 while all the larger sets say clear action 720. Also the 50 and 55 say "Effective refresh rate 120HZ" which is Vizio's way of saying native refresh rate is 60 HZ. Note all the larger sizes say "Effective refresh rate of 240HZ" which translates to a 120HZ panel.

So with vizio effective 120hz = effective 60hz.
the D series 24''et 28'' indicated that they are effective 60hz which would mean in reality effective 30hz. it seems like it does not make sense.
if this is really true This is really a funny in a way of process.

I don't know where you saw this but Vizio.com says the D series has a 120HZ effective refresh rate which is a native 60HZ panel. Vizio always doubles the "Native" rate of the panel to achieve the "Effective" rate. CNET explains it here Refresh Rate

Both the p-55 and m-60 are native 120Hz IPS panels so it looks like the m-65 if you want a VA panel. I can't fit a 65 so I give up! I think I'll just buy a d-58 to tide me over for a few years.

Yeah that is honestly what is killing me right now. I like the 65" but the P-65 is way out of my cost. So I am aiming towards the M-65 if it performs well. If not, I may just keep my plasma as the main tv and get a cheaper tv for the bedroom or get the P-55 and deal with the IPS.

From the owner's thread, it seems that the IPS on the P55 is not an issue (and can actually be a pro) depending on usage scenarios.

My understanding is that the VA panel with it's better blacks is most appreciated in a dark room (i.e. no lights on) and when viewed mostly head-on (less than 30 degrees deviation from center).

On the other hand, the IPS with it's better colors is more appreciated in a lit room because it's not dark enough to notice the top/bottom black bars in a movie are not exactly black. With the IPS, you also get better viewing angles and the lesser blacks are not as noticeable in a light environment.

I'm not sure in what usage scenarios a 60Hz vs. 120Hz panel becomes apparent. Connecting to a PC for [email protected] gaming is the only one I can think of?

What are the chances that the 65" version of this TV ends up on Dell.com for purchase in the next 80ish days? I have a $200 gift card to dell.com that I'd like to use for this purchase!

Slim.

Unrelated. Marketing CEO just Tweeted that the M series will be distributed quite wide. No Best Buy exclusive on it.

Some signs of life on the shopping page at Vizio.com... You can't buy a single M series set anymore as they've almost all been updated to 2016 models now. This was not the case earlier in the day!

Can you look up Costco's return policy. It's acceptable in some stores to simply say you don't want it.

Based on history I'd say there is a good chance (Vizio already has a relationship with Costco). No one can say for sure. If you want it that bad, hold it until you can return it, then return it and just go without a tv (assuming you don't have another one). Only you can make the call as to whether or not that's something you're willing to go through.

For what it's worth I did buy a M70 for 1400 new in box, but decided to return it ( I told the owner I didn't want it and he was ok with it). I should note that I was well aware of the new M coming out, but when I thought about it, it just made more sense to wait even though I felt it was a good deal.

is this tv good for gaming. it doesn't have a game mode since the older version didn't have one. But thats just settings that the tv has mostly turning things off or adjusting so it runs better. From the specs of the other tv it doesn't even need a game mode. am i correct?
I mostly want this tv for gaming ps4,xbox one, old consoles and pc.

It has Gaming low Latency mode and HDMI 5 is the gaming port and with GLL on you'll get sub 20ms input lag, assuming it's the same as the P series. The other HDMI ports are around 35ms with GLL on.

I had a similar situation with my 2015 M series at Costco online. I had no intention of using the TV only to take it back a few weeks later but the HDR/WGC thing threw me for a loop when I found out I wouldn't be able to play new 4K content properly.

I called Costco and told the agent that I loved TV but had to make the difficult decision to initiate a return as the TV was already obsolete. I'm sure they would have taken it back for whatever the reason, but I think the agent at least appreciated that I was uncomfortable and was pretty cool about it. They picked up the TV and initiated a full refund, I'm very happy I did it. Will be buying a P series soon. Good luck!
