I prematurely reported the tablet being bricked, the battery at the time of the issue was at 15% and would boot up, but immediately shut itself off after optimizing all the apps post update.
I left it off on the cradle overnight and with a full charge haven't had any issues in 2 days, also seemed to resolved playback issues with Google Play Movies and Youtube videos blacking out with audio still in the background.
Also found setting Color Space to Auto (Recommended) instead of RGB on the Xbox One S resolved the issue with green bars on top and sides appearing randomly after exiting HDR content.
I took the time to recalibrate the TV settings for gaming through the Xbox HDTV calibration tool and am much happier then just leaving it with the standard vizio gaming values.

I'd also like to thank Raven Crimson, I read one of his replies about leaving Clear Action on as before I left it off. It took 2 days but my eyes have adjusted, initially it was pretty straining on the eyes even with Gunnars on.
Any advice on leaving FALD on or off for gaming, ie: does it add latency? I have it on at the moment and prefer it that way but I do play multiplayer/pvp in Destiny occasionally was just curious if it is detrimental to latency at all.
Pretty happy camper at the moment with everything where it is.

That's another possibility. Easy enough for customer service to just send out a new tablet, with no idea what that actual problem is, especially if the contract with the tablet manufacturer makes them responsible for paying for replacement of "defective" units under the warranty.

Like many of you I have been having problems with my tablet. I contacted Vizio support and they agreed (yesterday) to replace it with a "Re-Certified" unit.
This afternoon I received another message telling me that an "update should be released today" to deal with the tablet problems.
My ticket for the replacement unit is being kept open in the event the update does not "fix" my tablet.
No further information was included with the email.

I agree. I think we are getting closer and closer to things working properly across a myriad of devices with each firmware update on each device.

I know changing one of the Color Temperatures is global, as is changing the Color Space. If everything in a Custom Setup is going 'Global', then that is strange.

If you would, please... Detail the procedure you do for creating a Custom Picture Mode.

How does one turn on HDR?

1. When casting Netflix Marco Polo, I cant find anywhere to change Sub Sampling to on. A lot of options are grayed out or set to Auto. Does the TV automatically detect and enable it?

2. If there a display info window I can pop up to view, incoming resolution and all options that I have enabled when playing movie or game?

Subsampling isn't needed when casting, its only for HDMI inputs passing HDR10/ UHD Bluray content.

so it will automatically play HDR content? Marco Polo gives zero indication it's HDR and honestly doesn't look super great.

You don't get the Dolby Vision tag at the bottom of the display? If not, it may be your subscription to Netflix, needs to be UHD enabled.

If two people handle a 65" or 75" or larger, horizontal... how much will any stress and torque mess things up? I don't think there are any built-in truss bars for horizontal carrying of the larger LCDs.

Yet, here's the Quick-Start Guide for all sizes, saying it's ok with two people. I still wonder, though:
Yeah, I tend to agree with you. I know I try and avoid that type of stuff if I can.

I used to be involved with custom homes and see "pro" av guys doing all sorts of stuff like that. Not saying it's good practice however lol

The upgrade is taking a long time.....optimizing all apps on the tablet. The last update didn't take this long, but I don't think that's a bad thing.

Does that mean a new p-series is on the horizon?

That is just BestBuy trying to get you to buy a Samsung or Sony, the Blueshirts lie to you, that is what they were trained to do.

So far Vizio has only updated the P series ever 2 years so you probably will not see a new model until around April 2018.

Hi all, did anybody know what the status is of using voice control to play movies and music using the TV? I know it had to be on cast version 1.21 or higher and it looks like production is below that - does the beta get you voice control? What other operations are available? Can you turn the TV on and off, for example?

And last question: will it damage the TV to shut it off by cutting the power to it? I have a smart switch that I can control via Alexa or Google Home, and with my old TV I just cut the power because I didn't care if it died. With the P65 I'll be more careful
