I checked my tablet for updates and got nothing.. Then I reset my remote to see if I had 3.0.14.0 waiting for me, after I just installed 3.0.14.0... I checked for updates again on my tablet and got 6.01...

Android update

Just checked for update for tablet(P55, bought late May) & am currently downloading. Does anyone really know the improvements of Marshmallow?

Well, I totally forget to check before I bought it, I bought a P65, but the absence of the Amazon app is quite annoying. Also, I think I'm going to have to get used to this tablet remote. Other than that, I am going to have to wait until tonight to see how dark scenes look on this TV.

Still looking for this, for the P75-C1, since I forgot to specify. I asked Vizio and apparently they do not have that information.

Sounds like a contrast or tint issue. Try lowering your contrast, just because I'm curious.

Damn tablet, it asked to do an update as well right in the middle of trying to setup an Nvidia Shield. I hate these tablet updates because they take soooo loooong. I just checked yesterday and there wasn't an update but the day I need to setup a new device, it needs to do an update. Another thing, it doesn't let you exit out but the only choice is OK.

Dark scenes at night on a P65? I hope you have some Kleenex because you might tear up a little. It's remarkable. Hell, try a torture test like Gravity, you'll be amazed.

The tablet just operates a little faster, you can now manage ram usage, the option to connect usb(possibly external harddrive, thumb drive, or Sd card dongle for extra storage space.

New app has been added, Google Home. Checked it out, has a lot of shows, and movies from different sources(Netflix, Google Play Movies).

I assume the tablet has a mic, if it does, maybe you can use voice controls to turn your display on, volume up and down, and or choose a app by saying the name. Might be wishful thinking, but you never know.

Should make a separate thread it's taking way too much space for something that honestly does very little . It's a tad faster and that's it

I'll get a box ready. I can't decided if I prefer calibrated or calibrated dark better. I may have to use my PS4 Pro, in the meantime, because it's a bit more fluid. Aside from HDMI 5 being lower, are any of the other 4 HDMI preferred for inputs for HDR and 4k?

Well, some of this is personal preference. If you want accuracy, Calibrated and Calibrated Dark are both very good at default. The set is pretty universally consistent with brightness/contrast best left at 50/50. If you are watching in a bright room (which I hope you are with an 80 backlight), I'd recommend using Calibrated with everything default and backlight can go as high as you want. For SDR, if you want a little more pop, you can push color a little bit.

Roku Ultra works great. If you don't care for a USB stick, you can also go for the Premier+

Got Horizon on PS4 today. Game looks great. One weird thing though. In some area when moving the camera objects seem to get really dark until I stop moving the camera then they go back to normal. any idea what causes this? The game or the tv? Its noticeable mostly on the tree and the grass. See video -

Edit: only seems to do that when HDR is on

There are no issues while playing the same shows in Dolby Vision via casting. I did read that there are some issues with the XBox, but not sure if this is one of them. Could someone confirm this? Sorry, if it's been covered already, I haven't been able to find an exact same issue.

Not an issue typically associated w/ the Xbox.
Make sure your LED zone dimming is ON.
Also, if it is a darker room, turn down your backlight a bit.

All of that said, if you are watching Netflix, best to just cast from the tablet to TV vs. using Xbox which does not support DV.

Yeah, but looks terrible w/ BT.1886 gamma to me, which many people seem stuck on calibrating to, pushing their 10% grayscale luminance way up... when I do that, things look gray... I want my inky blacks!

I have started calibrating w/ 'flat' power curve gamma targeting ~2.25

The 2.4 gamma might be nice w/ SDR content, I will try

Forgive me if this has been asked already, but what is the general consensus for changing the color settings in HDR modes? I know the default for DV is 50 and the default for HDR10 is 58. I've noticed that some of the calibration settings in this thread reduce that 8-10 clicks.

I know that each panel is different, but would defaults for Calibrated and Calibrated Dark be accurate? I don't have a meter to test. Thanks in advance.

Ugh, ARC on this TV has been nothing but headache after headache.

I'll get sound, then weeks later nothing. Has anyone figured out a surefire way to get this blasted TV to use ARC?

I've power cycled both my P65 and SC-95, which used to do the trick, but now that does nothing.

EDIT - I forgot to mention I am on 3.0.14.0.
