While I agree that BJC Cables are good cables.... I use Amazon Basics for 10ft and under without issue with 4K HDR and ARC.

Just wanted to say hi as I've purchased a P65 at Costco on Monday (last one there!). I'm reading the forum posts right now as to get a good understanding of what I could or should do. I'm holding off on a 4k Blu-ray player until the Xbox Scorpio comes out (yeah, I'm one of them), but I am happy as can be with my current blu-ray collection. This will be my first tv to mount, so what do you guys recommend? I'm looking at that Echogear full motion model right now. Thanks!

I used the Kanto FMX-3 from Costco to mount my P75, it is an excellent full motion mount and very strong, my friend that weighs over 200 pounds was doing chin ups on the end of the mount when it was fully extended before I mounted the P75, it hardly moved at all when he was doing it.

I'm using a 6ft BJC series FE cable and ARC currently doesn't work for DD+ audio with my Denon X3300W. Regular DD and 2 channel PCM both seem to work over ARC. It seems that something with update 3.0.13.5 messed it up and 3.0.14.0 hasn't fixed it (a few other Denon AVR owners said that ARC worked on 3.0.12.2 but not on 3.0.13.5). Hopefully a future patch will make it work properly.

Agreed. I have three 6 foot Amazon Basics cables and I've never had an issue with 4k/HDR at 60fps in games.

I was one of those owners for whom it worked under 3.0.12.2, and then quit working under 3.0.13.5. I have a Denon 2113ci. I am very disappointed to hear it hasn't been fixed with 3.0.14.0.

I opened up a ticket with Vizio support about 3 weeks ago, the reference number is:

I would encourage anyone else that's encountered the same issue to open a ticket with Vizio, and feel free to refer to mine via the above reference number.

I tried casting from Plex to the tablet to the TV, and it couldn't handle it. And I'm not sure about casting HDR through Plex, seems like it could work.

Maybe with the new Ryzen Cpus a computer can handle transcoding of a 4k hdr file coupled with SSD drives.

Add a Roku Ultra or Premiere+ to your Vizio. They have a built-in Plex client that does 4k HDR quite well (as long as your file is in a media format that the Vizio can recognize).

That's the easiest-cheapest way to reliably cast 4K HDR from Plex that I can find as of this date.

--OK so I am testing out sound decoding thru Plex with ARC from a 1080p h.264 source with Audio: DTS 5.1

It only plays 2.0 my Yamaha and show Stereo under audio type on my tablet.

--- I tested another video thru Plex with ARC from a 1080p h.264 source with Dolby Digital and Audio: AC3 5.1

That seems to pass thru my AVR at 7.1 or 5.1.

-- Lastly I then tried casting Netflix Daredevil and display info shows Dolby Digital+ and plays fine on my AVR.

Any ideas why I only get 2.0 on the dts 5.1 track

Oh, Vizio... why would you set the consumer up for failure such that they have to shell out more money to get all the services to work.

On a related note, does anyone have issues using the Roku with the tablet?

I can only tell you that when using Roku Ultra's built-in Plex client and a properly encoded file, my system display information says Res: 3840 x 2160 - HDR: Yes.

It's wrong I promise you that . Simply cannot play it . Plex has it on their site saying they can't pass through the hdr data yet . I have a lifetime Plex pass and follow pretty closely . If you go to the roku ultra thread you will see people get the hdr on thing even when watching a 1080 p Plex movie . It's a roku issue

I played some 4K HDR demo files through Plex on a Roku Premiere + earlier today. They were definitely playing back in HDR. No doubt about it. So it definitely works. These were demo files for Samsung and LG sets that I got from a demo website. The link is somewhere in this thread.

With all due respect, I think I'll stick with my lyin' eyes. Are you aware that HDR is not exclusive to UHD? There are plenty of 1080p HDR videos available. Perhaps that's why they are being reported as "HDR: on" in the Roku Ultra thread. They are HDR. https://www.google.com/search?gs_ivs...=off&tbm=vid&*

Plex can't cast DTS, only DD and DD+ (EAC3). With modifications to the Chromecast.xml profile, it will transcode DTS to DD.

Quick question are you playing these files via a Micro SD or USB via Plex to your Vizio? Or are you able to use Plex server and play files (I.e. - Your home PC houses your movie/demo files)

Thanks in Advance

I opened a ticket yesterday with Vizio support. they responded within "please provide the serial number, purchase date, purchase location. I sent this info last night so will update when they respond.

The only issue I am having is turning off my receiver. When the power button is pressed in the smart cast so, the TV and receiver power on at the same time. But when power off, only the TV powers off. It used to work correctly, but it hasn't worked in ~12 days. Not sure what changed, but it's pretty frustrating. I bought the TV 08FEB2017 from BB, open box. P65-C1

ARC and CEC are not working anymore for some people with the new firmware update from about 10 or 12 days ago.

It should be fixed in the next update.

The bottom of our P65 is about 22" from the floor. Its in a dedicated media room, our couch is pretty low and about 6' from the screen, so this height works really well for us. Also allows mounting the center channel above to be much closer to the drivers in my tower LR speakers.
