So far so good! I wish I could get Amazon HDR on the set but it doesn't look like that's available.

My question is this: When i played the game, i used the "Game Mode" setting but it didn't look as good as "Standard". It was like the wrong color temp. What modes do people recommend for which source? (i.e. PS4/Cast/etc)
Plug into HDMI 1-4 and use Calibrated or Calibrated Dark with GLL turned on. In my opinion, using HDMI 5 to get lower input lag isn't worth losing HDR.

I own a 50" and 55" (and just sold the 55" in anticipation of getting a new Sony Z9D...)

Love the set/sets.

Great color, great contrast and brightness. Fantastic controls and settings.

Amazing bang for the buck.

My big complaint is that, after the last official firmware release, the backlight strobes on angle and scene changes, and is completely out of control during end credits on black backgrounds.... this was much better in the beta releases. So I know it can, and should, get better. I owned a Samsung JS9500 before the 55" and it didn't exhibit such behavior (also a FALD set..)

It was great having Matt around here in the past... while it's rare that a company gets as involved as he did, it was understandable during the merger period he had other more pressing issues and time commitments.

However when a company starts such a practice it should continue to do so IMO... if someone like the CTO can't continue, they should find someone else to communicate with their most vocal and critical audience. It is a reasonable expense that would pay huge dividends with current and future owners.

They broke some things from the beta to public release and the silence has been frustrating....

Those two things are my criticisms with Vizio and these sets.... I'm hopeful that the strobing backlight is corrected and that company can once again better communicate with its users... and yes, I know none of the other companies have/had someone like Matt on these boards... but once they started they should've realized they would disappoint people when they stopped.

Of course. Just my .02.

I did a service check before leaving tonight.

So who knows.... Support told me today that an update was coming so I figured this will be a wide release since she knew about it. I only tweeted Matt to see if we are done with the whole beta thing.

I can put a meter up later tonight (kids are watching the tv). I wonder if this is the same Pure Cinema from the Reference Series which is explained like this......The Pure Cinema Engine displays frame rates at an authentic 24 frames per second, giving movie-loving consumers the exact experience filmmakers intended. Who knows, can't wait to look at it with the meter.

Yea, that's just 3:2 pull down. For pulling 24p content out of device that only put out 60p like the CCU or the nvidia shield etc.... They just renamed it.

Factory reset, gives you the option to use either remote to set up your display. In the bottom left corner it says, P55-C1| 3.2.8.3|3.0.14.1. You choose location name, whether or not you want to share data, and terms of service for Vizio and Google.
