Okay. One more question lol. Did your tv smell funny when you first used it? The "new" smell? How long did it last?

At first, it stunk-up my whole place.

Quickest way to rid the smell is to run the Display often. Have open windows. A fan.

It can take weeks before it tames down enough. From there, it weakens further month by
month. That's what I recall. I had a window dual-fan exhausting the air when it wasn't
too cold outside. (Pulling air from another open window.)

I'm getting headaches from it. Very mild ones. I'm a little freaked out because of the prop 65 warning. Although I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.

What Firmware are you on? 3.2.8.3 Firmware seems to have fixed some
video problems.

Long ago, when I first tried to setup my 4K Roku, I saw goofy video
patterns. So I setup the Roku as 1080i... not 4K. That worked.

So, after many months of reading messages about how critical it is to
have a quality, working HDMI Cable for 4K (18Gbps), I realize I'm going
to have to swap-out that cable to the one that's on my Sony DVR - which
I think is the Vizio Cable. (Can ya tell I haven't used my Roku in a while?)

Make sure your supplied Vizio Cable is hooked-up to the highest priority
HDMI device. Perhaps your Roku.

You could unhook all HDMI devices and do a Soft or Factory Reset to see if
you problem clears-up when Tablet-Casting.

Then, one-by-one... hook up one HDMI Cable to one device to test for a while.
Then hook it up to all remaining devices. If that Cable passes all your devices
in testing, repeat if you have other Cables to test.

Possibly could be a Vizio hardware problem.

.
Great advise. Thank you.

I am running 3.2.8.3

I added to my harmony remote Vizio Internet app activity which starts the display with Chromcast and it seems to work better. I then switched to Roku, Back and forth and I did not get the artifacts. I am positive it is the handshake between the Roku and the Vizio. I am using the HDMI cable that came with the Roku Premier plus. Hey, thanks for your help.

Ooh. A sensitivity to this odor. Headaches. Not
cool.

Does Prop-65 mention about getting cancer from just
breathing these fumes?

Can you vent? (No... not that kind of venting.)

Set it up in a garage or other room to 'bake-off' the odor?

Set up an exhaust vent over the Display with hose
setup to exhaust out of the way? (Kind of drastic this
way, huh?)

Perhaps Vizio can start selling or including exhaust
kits, complete with motor, vent intake hood, hoses,
clamps, etc.

Lmao...i don't have windows open because it's pretty cold here. Fan just blows the smell around. I'm not a hypochondriac thinking I'm going to get cancer but that warning label freaked me out being as I'm from Canada and have never seen it before. I know they label clothing, health food etc. With it in California and people living there don't even bat an eye at it. I just thought it was odd that I'm getting a headache from it. I've had several new tv's in the past 11 years and never experienced this before.

Actually now that I think about it I've never owned an LCD before, only plasma. Maybe my eyes haven't adjusted to the motion and it may be causing headaches?

Headaches? I've had 2 replacements that all has this smell in the begining but I could smell it unless I was within 3 feet of the Display. Headaches from motion and/or smell sounds odd.

The smell is definitely dissipating over time. I just need to be patient and maybe have some ventilation. Thanks for your input

Headaches from motion I have seen posted before, but you may also be sitting too close. Another good idea is to go to your eye doctor for a checkup. It's pretty rare on here (headaches due to motion), but it's "possible"

Certainly possible. Also, a bigger and brighter display may take a little time to get used to. I'm not sure of your display settings, but if you are watching in a darker environment, maybe turn down the backlight a bit.

On that note, got my remote last night in the mail. Definitely better than the packaged one.

I managed to work on the 11pt calibrations (for HDR-10) by changing the Shield to 1080p rec2020 as suggested but then when I went over to the Dolby Vision changes for calibration it was doing the same thing where it would keep going back to zero (0). What did you do to change the DV settings?

If anybody has some spare time right now, would you mind casting a Livestream (Monster Energy Supercross account - Round 16 in East Rutherford [Live right now]) and verify that framerate is just choppy as can be, especially in camera pans? And maybe fill me in with the knowledge as to why? I've noticed bad frame stutters in panning scenes on Better Call Saul casting directly through the AMC app as well (1080P). Just trying to clarify that this is not an issue with my set specifically as I'm just a couple days out of my warranty period now..

I use my laptop with a 1080 output for DV Calibration. I haven't looked for a way to set things outside if that.

Ok, I guess I'll have to wait for the firmware update but that's ok since I watch more SDR & HDR-10 content than I do Dolby Vision (DV). I only watch DV when I watch some of the UHD movies I have on Vudu.

Planet Earth II looks extraordinary in 4K HDR on this TV, and is a huge testament to how the main issue with so-so content isn't our TV as much as the limits of the content itself.

Yesterday was casting Netflix and could not pause if except through the device I was casting from. On my old remote i didnt have this problem. This is on the new one they sent to beta users. That's almost certainly gonna be a question for Google, looks like it's only working on the dedicated Chromecast hardware right now, not just the P Series that isn't working with it.

Yesterday was casting Netflix and could not pause if except through the device I was casting from. On my old remote i didnt have this problem. This is on the new one they sent to beta users. The tv still received all other commands like volume and picture mode, but not play/pause. anyone else?
I noticed this yesterday as well with the new remote.
