Miss-information. Google already stated that a Chromecast Ultra or compatible Android TV device is needed.

Matt McRae already stated these displays lack the necessary hardware to decode YouTube HDR, which is property of Google. It's likely they will require the same hardware decoder for all of it's HDR content. This is not something a firmware update can fix.

You need it to be on for any 4k 60hz HDR10 signal and you need it on for 4k 60hz 4:4:4 signal. You need to set the Nvidia shield to 4k (which is 4:2:0 or 4:2:2) and you need for HDR on the Chromecast Ultra (which is 4:2:2). Those are the facts.
Cables are the weak links now and people need good cables.....it matters now.

What are you saying?

I can cast to the builtin Chromecast in the Vizio P65-C1 TV with Youtube, it shows HDR10.

No it does not. Our display does not have the hardware to do YouTube HDR without an external device.

I watched Goodfellas last night on 4K UHD Blu and, yeah, my sound was WAY off. I set my SC-95 to 120ms audio delay, which synced it up well, but I need to use your Youtube video to dial it in perfectly.

I didn't see this reported in the Vizio Beta FW Bug thread, but maybe I missed it? Seems a pretty important issue to report.

I wanted to see if anyone else noticed of if it was just me before reporting it. Seems to be worse at 24hz than 60hz.

Delay will always be worse on lower refresh rates. I would contact Vizio. They may or may not know/have a fix in the works.

I don't know what the big deal is since anyone with the disc and both a Vudu account and DMA account will be able to redeem the DMA code and watch the Vudu DV version from there if the disc is not DV?

It would be disappointing and somewhat odd that Disney, may have chose to not support DV on UHD bluray format. Remember they were one of the first to support Dolby Cinema with Tomorrow Land then followed by Jungle Book.

I'm going to tweet Gunn, hopefully he responds.

I'm not sure if everyone is aware of the annual TV shootout. It's part of CE Week in NY, put on by Value Electronics. They look at flagship panels from multiple manufacturers. Last year they included the Vizio Reference Series. This year they included the Vizio P Series. The P didn't win, but I don't think anyone expected it to. That honor went to the LG E7, which swept all three categories of studio/home theater lighting, HDR/bright room, and streaming. But general consensus from the comments I've seen is that the P was a very strong performer for the price. And most preferred it over the much more expensive Samsung Q9 because of the poor blacks and contrast due to its edgelighting.

Here's a nice summary from one of the judges: https://www.hometheaterforum.com/2017-ce-week-tv-shoot/

And here's the AVS thread: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/40-ole...13-2017-a.html

The difference between physical and streaming 4k titles is not that evident to me especially when the streaming version also has Atmos audio. It could be that Disney decides not to redeem DMA 4k codes in UHD just like 20th Century Fox? In that case, I would always choose the disc.

Yah most consumers won't be able to tell the difference. Enthusiasts will. Unfortunately for them, trends indicate physical media will eventually be abandoned and everything will be streamed. Hopefully by then, we will see lossless streaming as an option. This is many years/decades down the road.

@Matt McRae Is it my imagination is Wide Color Gamut aka Full UHD Color aka Color Subsampling now working with simple 4K as well as HDR? In the past having that setting On generally didn't hurt but it didn't help non HDR content.

To my eyes simple 4K looks more vibrant with "Full Color UHD" toggled On since the last beta.

Hello everyone,

I've casted two UHD movies from Google Play Movies and both times I noticed intermittent flickering of a solid yellow rectangle at the bottom-left of the screen. It appears at random times and only lasts half a second. When the yellow rectangle appears I notice that it also distorts whatever is on the screen within that half second as well.

Have any of you experienced this? I will try to take a photo/video this evening.

In terms of my setup, I have a P75-C1 and am currently on the newest beta firmware. However, I've experienced this issue with the new firmware and the one just prior to it being updated. I was casting the rented UHD movies from the included tablet.

I smell a rude ignorant person.

But besides that, I will check it again to make sure. I do see HDR10 and Vision on casting with Netflix and Vudu.

I casted a Google Movies in 4K last week on the beta [before they did HDR], didn't work very at all, flashing rectangles, I had to move over to another device.

Rude? Ignorant? You said you were streaming HDR10 from YouTube and Google Play directly to the display(Not possible). Now you are changing the subject by talking about streaming HDR/DV from Netflix and Vudu. I'm not sure where the disconnect is with you, but please do some research before you post.

Of course you can stream HDR/DV from Netflix and Vudu. Of course you can stream UHD/4k from Google Play and YouTube, but that is not the same thing as HDR/DV. Just because something says UHD/4k does not make it HDR/DV.

Please. Do some research before you post so you don't come off as a troll or as you put it so eloquently, rude and ignorant.

First problem I've had with my P55:
I suspect this must be due to new firmware. When casting Google music to the TV the display now blinks constantly from a black screen. So instead of seeing the album art I have a very quick blink of the album art approximately every 1 second. Sometimes the screen is just black constantly.

Other sources of streaming and casting and HDMI inputs don't exhibit this behavior. I factory reset last night but it didn't seem to help. This is pretty annoying. If anyone has google music could you try this out? I'm on the latest firmware

NetFlix Update:

NetFlix had some recent updates, but I still have a problem since
6 or more Updates ago:

When parked on 'Ready To Cast' and it auto-drops after it times-out,
I'll then tap NetFlix's Cast Icon again and it doesn't work.

Several ways I've got it to work are:

Close the App and start it again or delete all Apps' Cache or specifically
go into the NetFlix App (Settings) and delete the Cache.

The New Monkey Movie:

The new "Planet of The 8's" monkey/ape at war movie is out.

I've never on-demanded a movie before.

Vudo's price is $20.

Is this price the same with other Apps?

When does the price come down?
When does the rental price show-up?

Anyone seen this issue before? Along with it I get some audio skips. At first I thought it was a DirecTV issue until I tried the other inputs and it continued. It happens often then goes away for a while. After the last time it happened the TV restarted by itself and then it seems to have stopped for the moment.

Edit: It's a P65.
