I've had a P75-C1 since 4/25/17 and have loved it, but as of 2 weeks ago saw a dark spot on the screen, today I turned it on and saw about 5 dark spots. I called Vizio support, and described the issue, the person immediately said "Oh it sounds like the backlight is failing", I replied "Ah that sounds expensive, and of course it happened not even 3 months after the warranty ran out", he replied "oh no, you can't replace the back light on that unit, would you like help placing an order for a replacement unit?". I'm assuming you can see where it went from there, spending almost $4,000 on a tv that apparently will just get more messed up until I give up on it.
Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone had any success on it?
Also posting this as a clear warning of what can happen with these units.
