I sent Matt a PM to ask who we're supposed to contact now if we want to be added to Beta group.

Why.............WHYYYYYYYY!

Matt, thanks for your professionalism, generosity, and consideration. If I had a tech company, I would definitely try to get you to join the team as my CTO. Thanks for the 2016 models and all to come.

The reason I'm still a Vizio customer is because of you. When my 2012 M3D651SV started having issues after 13 months, I started looking around at Samsung's and Sony's until I read a press release in October 2013 in which Vizio said that they were bringing back FALD, and the focus going forward would be PQ over everything else. I delayed buying a new TV for 10 months until I could get my hands on an M702i-B3. Now, I've got an M70-D3, and am looking forward to what the 2018 P's will bring to the table. Vizio is now a respected brand and no longer the cheap throw away product of the past. That's a fact. Year after year, the Vizio's are the editor's top picks in reviews. I think you had a lot to do with that. If this resignation was not voluntary, I think that Vizio must not understand what a great asset you were to the company. All the best with your future journey's.

@Matt McRae Thank you for your communication to this community and involving us in beta testing. You are aces in my book! My first Vizio set was the 2016 Pseries that I learned about thru this forum. Best wishes on your next endeavors!

I am having horrible flashbacks to when Tony (aka T-Money) who was Amazon's PC Games department liaison - more like CSR/concierge who seemed to live 24/7 on the Cheap Ass Gamer and Reddit game deals forums - and pretty much single-handedly made Amazon a pretty fierce competitor in digital distribution with his efforts, was moved to another area and his replacement has no interest in associating with the rabble. Amazon almost instantly fell off everyone's radar due to no one working to keep it on gamers' scopes.

Not to say Vizio is doomed, but for the bleeding edge types who populate forums like this and cherish the interaction, this is pretty shocking. We've been greatly spoiled by Matt's messaging and ministrations. Here's to hoping Big V has someone tending the flock here because it was a major differentiator from the competition.

Does this mean we're not going to get that USB power toggle option for bias lights now?

*shrug* as long as thy keep making good TVs I think they'll be fine. They started to become popular in 2014 with the P series and that was way before Matt started participating. It sucks that he's leaving, but alas sometimes you have to move on. We can only wish him the best in his new endeavors and hope that the company continues its outreach (even if it's not as personal as before).

Sighhhhh, I didn't think I would need to explain that. Participating in the forums (support wise), not Vizio as a company. I know what he said.

I thought you were saying that he started after they were already implementing FALD TV's (or right around the same time) so not much should change. I am slightly worried because Vizio started getting really good since he has started for the company.....if you are just talking about the forums then I understand.

Edit......You said nothing about FALD. Got a couple of posts mixed up. Don't mind me.

Well, with him gone the communication and participation in these forums are likely done.
As far as the companies outlook, the same should be happening for the next few years that he has been involved in but from there, the new CTO will be driving that. Time will tell.

The differences between HDR10 and Dolby Vision on a P75C1 is the HDR10 shows banding, HDR10 on a Vizio P75C1 is terrible.

Breaking posted rules (not an owner yet), but had to post on this.

I have bought at least five Vizios during Matt's tenure, I'd like to tell you that my trusty 2013 XVT473SV with its 160 zone FALD was a precursor to the P series in my eyes. It and an Oppo 103D have been great. It's a gateway display for me, since a P from next year is its replacement.

Good luck, it's been a breath of fresh air to see a real live CTO answering questions from the bleeding edge.

Serious issues with screen flicker/distortion when using HDMI5 120 Hz with my PC (GPU - HD7950). If I enable Overdrive (overclocking) even by 5 MHz my entire screen flickers horrendously. Even if I UNDERclock my card it does the same thing. It becomes 100% unusable and unwatchable. This extreme screen flicker/jumping does not occur if I do one of three things. 1) Disable any overclock/underclock. 2) Use 60 Hz instead of 120 Hz. Or 3) Change my card to RGB instead of YCbCr.

Why does this ONLY happen if I under/overclock my card? And why does it ONLY happen in 120 Hz YCbCr? 60 Hz with under/overclock is fine & RGB with under/overclock is also fine. Although everything is a bit blurry when I use RGB so I'd rather not.

I tried to use a screen recorder so people could see what I'm seeing, but it doesn't show up on the video which makes me believe it's a TV fault and not the card since the screen recorder just captures what the card is outputting to my screen. If it was the card - wouldn't the extreme shaking be present on the video also?

The best I could do for demonstration is my cell phone, which doesn't even come close to showing how terrible it is. In the video it looks like some text flicker or something, but it's actually the entire image that shakes, jumps, and distorts... and far, FAR worse than what can be seen in the video. For whatever reason the phone just doesn't capture it good enough. I imagine because it's not recording in 120 Hz or not a high enough fps? Anyway... here's the vid showing it the best I'm able to. I wish someone could actually see it in person because it's much much worse looking.

For whatever reason the phone just doesn't capture it good enough. I imagine because it's not recording in 120 Hz or not a high enough fps? Anyway... here's the vid showing it the best I'm able to. I wish someone could actually see it in person because it's much much worse looking.

Started off 7950 in crossfire with a 2016 vizio p65 with none of the same issues.... have a 1080ti now so Can't help you if it happens to be a driver issue...

I get severe lip sync issues at 24 and 30hz modes. I have to max out the lip sync to 5 and then add an additional 200ms delay to videos using my PC.

What's weird is the inbuilt speakers are being adjusted more than the rca output on the back of the TV. Meaning the inbuilt speakers don't experience the massive amount of delay. I just have an analog speaker (z2300 from Logitech) connected to the rca jacks.

I see you correctly posted on the Sound bar thread for SB settings. On the Vizio P65 Audio section turn speakers off and set output to bitstream. All the other settings are for the internal speakers.

Confirmed not a driver issue. Tried 10 different drivers ranging in time from throughout the last year, using DDU to completely clean uninstall before each driver install. It's either a hardware issue with my card that by chance started shortly after buying the P55... or it's an issue with the TV itself. Wish I had a few buddies with some other GPUs so I could test out to find if it's in fact my card or the TV. With the current GPU prices skyrocketed due to cryptocurrency mining - there's not a chance in hell I'm going to buy a new card to test things out. Maybe a 2nd hand Nvidia card that's on par with my 7050 OC'd to 1100/1500. Anyone reading live in or around Minneapolis, MN & have a GPU or two you'd be willing to bring over and have us test out?

Connect a console or cable box to hdmi 5 and look for the flickering with subtitles, ect.... if there is an issue with the port, it wouldn't just affect pc. Did you try another hdmi port 1-4 with the same findings? Are you using auto under vizio color options .... you might just have a bad card. Can you hook up pc to a monitor and duplicate issues found on HDMI 5?
