As far as HDR10, The shield is also not compatible with that. Not only would you need to wait for a 2.0(a) firmware update, but also for Android and its related apps to support it.
Just an update on the nvidia shield. As a nerd that want to know the why on such tech. I contacted nvidia. They said it should be able to pass thru the metadata via HDMI 2.0. The TV/display if it has the dv chip it should work. So i contacted Netflix, looks like the app for android TV OS is not passing the metadata via hdmi causing the display not to decode the data. I open a escalation to developers to look in to it. They will contact nvidia to work it out.
Edit: Also told netflix that we dont see the DV logo on content like Marco polo. Only shows 4K, 5.1 on the description. Only shows the DV at load. He said, that they working on adding the logo.
