Anyone else having an issue with native smartcast and the remotes not working?

Once the screen comes up none of the remotes, including the tablet will navigate Icons. A soft restart brings it back for a bit, Once the set is turned off with the power button it happens again.

Weird.

The 2nd pc is a new pc dual booted with Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux and both also had 3840X6160 @60hz. The other day both the libreelec and ubuntu boot to just a black screen and then I get a no signal error Windows will still boot but but in amd display settings I can only select 4:2:0 color setting when I was previously on 4:4:4. Usually when I try to select either 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 it just goes back to 4:2:0 but a few times my screen just went black and then got the no signal error until rebooting and then I would be back on 4:2:0. I have tried switching cables (I have monoprice certified cables), factory resetting the TV and also going straight from pc to TV with no different result. I do have full uhd color turned on. I also have reinstalled my libreelec on pc1 becuase I was not sure how to change resolution from the command line. When I reinstalled I tried to switch from 3840X2160 30hz to 60 and was not able to. Thought I would check here to see if anyone else has come across this issue before calling vizio. Any help is greatly appreciated.
My Windows 10 HTPC with a GTX 1070 will only show 4:2:0 in 4k resolution as well, exception being 24hz.

I did some gaming on my Xbox One X, but it was just Crackdown via back compat, so that's just 4k SDR/60 but it played fine. I need to try the Xbox and my PS4 Pro at HDR/60 and see if things get messed up so I know it's an overall problem with HDR/60 or just the ATV.
My Xbox One X won’t do HDR gaming anymore. Seems that HDR10 24 Hz is the only HDR mode supported and will only work if YCC 4:2:2 is selected. Full UHD color is selected on the Vizio and this is after a full reset.

... and please no comments about “check your cords” or lbypass my AVR”. It was working fine before the firmware update.

I’ve had this TV for almost 2 years and I’ve been really lucky so far. No real issues, except for a period in late 2017 where the FALD was buggy. However, the downward spiral of support and buggy firmware is troubling. Think it might be time to give Costco a call.

Weird.
yea I'm having the same problem only with the volume though. My echo no longer works with the volume either I can only turn the TV on and off. The smart cast app keeps disconnecting as well. I linked it last night and tried it this morning and it isn't paired any more.

I find it ridiculous the TV has been out essentially 2yrs and each successive firmware release is seemingly worse than the last. What is going on at Vizio QA? Do they even test the firmware for more than 5mins before releasing it?

If I set the Apple TV 4k to output HDR10/60, the screen goes black and doesn't come back.

Note the ATV is running the latest 11.3 OS off the beta path. I haven't actually tried DV/60 or HDR10/60 on the ATV any time recently, so I can't comment if it actually broke due to Apple or Vizio.

I haven't tried to cast anything yet using VUDU to see what I get.

Note all sources are passing through a Marantz AV7704 preamp then on to the TV using HDMI 1.
This is the same issue I have. It’s due to the newest firmware update.

I'm not condoning it, but "new" features mean new bugs. Image what will happen when the new 2018s are out and Vizio devotes all their attention to the new hardware.

And that's exactly why I'm considering returning it and just watching my 40" 1080p TV until the new models arrive (TCL P65).

Only thing is I move tomorrow and I fear Costco is going to say I broke the TV during the move. Then again Costco is pretty good so I highly doubt that will happen- I think if I just tell them I'm dissatisfied with it they'll take it back.

I still find it hard to believe 2yrs in the TV has this many problems. That doesn't speak well for Vizio...

This is a high end Vizio Series so people have high expectations and torture test them with a variety of complex components and configurations. I imagine the average Vizio D series or TCL S series owner is just happy to have an inexpensive big picture.

Edit: I have to admit my wife does not think much of her Activity Room TCL S picture after viewing our P65.

I have a pretty basic setup. TV, receiver and components- the same as many people with HDTVs these days. It's not too much for us to expect 2yrs in that what was previously working gets broken and remains that way for months. I was willing to give them some latitude when they fixed the white-line problem (took them months even to acknowledge it after a letter to the CEO), but now, not even a month later, Dolby Vision is gone from most Vudu movies, I lost DD+, and I can't get HDR to work properly on many of my components.

I've owned the TV not even 4mos and it's rife with problems.

Logged a ticket with Vizio via Costco. Vizio is aware of the no-HDR on Xbox bug and no RGB on Windows 10. Apparently, engineering is looking into fixing ...

... when it will be fixed ...?????

I bought my P50-C1 exactly 2 years ago today on April 1st 2016 and could not be happier with that purchase. The set has operated flawlessly and I am more than pleased with all the new features and picture enhancement updates that Vizio has provided over the last two years, way more than I had ever hoped for or ever expected to get.

Can anyone tell me what is going on here??
I was watching TV on OTA { had sound and picture}>HDMI 3. I decided to name the >input setting< HDMI 3 to OTA.
No issue. Then change in the >input setting< menus HDMI full color to >ON<. Sound dropped out. Couldn't figure out why for several minutes and - power OFF/ON all gear several times/clicked menus several time . Went back to turn OFF HDMI full color in HDMI 3.
Bam- got sound- . Turn on HDMI full color- no sound . Turn OFF- got sound.. HELP

I guess that depends on your receiver. My AVR has two HDMI out. So I can use one as ARC and the other just to goto hdmi 2.

No idea why it would be doing that, but there is no need for full Color mode for regular tv.

Good point, mine also has two HDMI outs but I really don't see any advantage at this point in using the Smartcast apps when I have them available on others devices with much better functionality.

Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the suggestion and workaround. However, I shouldn’t need an AVR with dual HDMI to have functionality for a main feature such as HDR to work. This is why I contacted Vizio/Costco so they can address the issue - and they were already aware. The CS commented that a number of owners have already called.

I have the latest firmware on my P75 and it has fixed the window blind problem that would happen every 4 or 5 days, the display is now working perfectly and the Picture quality is the best that this display has ever produced.
I for one think Vizio is doing a good job at keeping the P series working great.

Yeah I had Hulu TV and now that sports are off I figured I would switch over at least for 3 months to something different. Plus they have Nick channels. I was planning on getting HBO NOW which is $15 a month, but with Directv Now its only $5 a month. So paying $120 to get a $170 device and have streaming is kind of a no brainer if you are in the market for a streaming device. I replaced a Roku 3 that was solid but I liked having a Dolby Vision fall back for when Vudu sucks (like right now).

So paying $120 to get a $170 device and have streaming is kind of a no brainer if you are in the market for a streaming device. I've most streaming services (SlingTv, PS Vue, Hulu Tv) and they all have there quirks. From what I can tell Direct Tv is pretty solid. You also get access to the apps. For instance, I was trying to find a movie on Hbo through the DTV interface. I couldn't find it, so I just used the HBO Go app. But my TV habits have also changed partially from having kids and partially from moving to streaming services. I don't find myself just flipping channels. But my kids will have it on a channel for en extended period and I didn't notice any issues. The PQ on the ATV is really good.

I understand that part, was just trying to help ya out until the problem was resolved the correct way.

Maybe I'm missing something but we fired up the Vudu app on a smartphone today to watch a movie on our p75 (latest FW) and the app no longer shows the cast icon. Anyone else have this issue? We used the built in smartcast app which worked (just wish it gave me dv not hdr10)

i feel you about the kids, that is usually my viewing unless i have a movie or game on. How many devices can watch simultaneously?
