Find content that has red in the imagery. Ex. An MKBHD video and watch the intro with cd and a custom profile. The red will be more saturated and deep if WCG is on. And no unfortunately there's no manual toggle for it

Any strong pronounced color will do. Red may be easier to see though. There is no toggle for WCG.

Yes red has been the most noticeable for me personally

@VizioService The new firmware on my P65-C1 has messed up the ability to adjust any audio settings with the Vizio Smartcast App. I tried both the Android version and the iOS version. The On Screen menu audio settings work via the Vizio remote control.

Yeah, it's messed-up. If I turn on Audio onscreen, then Audio from SmartyPants Vizio App works - until I turn it OFF again.

@VizioService With the new firmware ARC also seems flaky, sometimes it works for volume adjustment using the Display remote other times no. I'd say Vizio audio stuff in general is now VERY flaky with the new firmware. I can't verify what is actually passing through the ARC channel.

So I have had this P65 for a couple years now. Where do I go from there if I was going to upgrade? The new P65? or is there something better out there for a reasonable price?

If you want the same size probably the PQ65 is an upgrade. In my opinion going from the 16/17 P65 to the 18 P65 it's not worth it.

Well, so far things are good. I've been having some weird motion issues for some time now and so far that appears to be resolved. Randomly and non-repeatably, the video would get "stuttery" like frames were being dropped. Always seemed to happen during Family Guy, but also happened streaming various local content VIA Plex on my Shield. The only way I could get it to stop was to power everything off and restart.

Oddly (and mostly un-importantly), my previous issue of not being able to hide HDMI 3 has been resolved. Now it's HDMI 2 that won't hide. lol

Thank you for both of your posts. I will look into this further for the app not functioning properly and the ARC issues.

Just updated. WatchFree was hidden prior to the update. After the update it's unhidden and the option to hide it is now gone just as Ken stated. @VizioService Booooo!!!

I haven't looked at all of the other posts, but I believe the ability to rearrange your apps list is new? Also, I don't recall the HDR mode being listed in picture settings if you open the picture menu while displaying HDR10 or Dolby Vision content.

When the display first restarted after the update everything was very greenish. A factory reset fixed it, but when setting things up again I found it odd that it did another "update". What was the additional update after the update?

My P50-C1 is updating now. Gonna do a factory reset when it's done and then screw around with it. Fingers crossed!

Just wondering if anyone here from Canada would consider selling their smartcast tablet for a reasonable price. Please PM me if you’re interested and we can figure out the details. I’m in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada.

I suspect this update affected color settings, at least in some cases. I only found this thread because I thought my picture looked warm today, and I was curious if I got an update recently (I don’t follow this thread or really anything in the forums recently). FWIW I have a customized version of the Calibrated Dark preset that I typically use, but both of the built-in Calibrated presents are warm as well - all on Normal color temp.

Since I too noticed color issues, I did a factory reset on mine, and also got the double update. Same version still, so I’m not sure what that’s about. I made my adjustments from the built-in Calibrated setting and was far more pleased with the color after.

Your 'too warm' Normal Color Temperature is 'less warm' after the Factory Reset? That's what I hope happens when I get around to doing a FR.

That's a funny one.

Crappy = Free, Quality = $$$

I just checked and WatchFree froze on me.

Maybe they can change it and charge for it and now call it WatchFee.

Just had the 5.0.14.1 update on my P series.
Couple things I've noticed so far:

1) Color is slightly warmer but not super noticeable.

2) Watch Free cannot be hidden anymore @VizioService ... Especially since it doesn't want to work in Canada anymore

3) In the update notes Vizio mentioned that picture modes will also include picture type. It does show when it's an hdr type but THERE STILL ISN'T SEPARATE CONTROL FOR SDR AND DOLBY VISION!
@VizioService why half ass a potentially useful feature like that? What point is there to show the content format when changing picture modes when changing a setting in Dolby Vision still affects the SDR calibrated/dark presets?

Indeed it was. Perhaps I'm sensitive to it (more so than I realized). My phone display warms up at night, and it was comparable to that, but I anticipate and appreciate the sacrifice realistic color as the extra warmth makes the display more comfortable in low light. It's very different in a TV set of course.

Got my update yesterday. Maybe I'm imagining things, but it seems like they may have tweaked the FALD a little. My highlights in HDR seem just a bit brighter than I remember them being with familiar material. I'm especially noticing this with things like bright moons in night scenes or bright sun. Just curious if anyone else with the update has noticed anything similar. I just don't recall my P50-C1 being quite this punchy before. Played some Destiny 2 and Assassin's Creed Origins on it last night and both games looked noticeably different with peak whites in HDR10.

On a negative note, I still have that issue where HDMI-4 randomly shows up in the input list even though I have it hidden. And my tablet now wants to connect via Google Home instead of just as a connected device under the Vizio app (which is annoying because it changes volume in increments of 5 now instead of 2), but at least I can still cast to my display.

How do you play destiny 2 with HDR? Are you on PC? I play on PS4 Pro and the 30FPS plus input lag it's very sluggish. I have to play with it off.

I play it on Xbox One X. The input lag on the P50-C1 for 4K/HDR doesn't bother me, as it's basically about 1 1/3 frames with 30fps games and just over 2 frames for 60fps games (which is way less than most online games' netcode window for most events). People stress over input lag too much, IMHO. But then, I used to game on a projector that was in the 60ms range, so maybe I've just adapted to it. I've had no problems whatsoever playing competitively with HDR games, including CoD:WWII.

When you say competitively, do you mean Pub or tournaments/wage matches? Nobody of importance considers pub matches competitive. I have yet to see a competitive player using a TV. They all use monitors with virtually no input lag(undetectable to humans).

Do you stream or upload captures of your gameplay?

I just meant that the input lag hasn't prevented me from doing well in those games... though I did do a lot of clan battles in CoD:WWII with ALFA and was on lane control with our primary squad. I've never found myself at a disadvantage. The netcode in these games leaves a pretty gaping ~100ms window wherein hit detection is essentially guesswork, even with fairly average ping times around 50-60ms. Short of LAN play, there are so many factors mitigating input lag that I really think people focus way too much on it. Over time, you naturally adapt. Hell, my previous clan in CoD: Ghosts was #1 in that game's clan system for Platinum division multiple times and that was back when I was playing on my Epson projector with input lag around 60ms. Honestly, if you're not playing something like a fighting game where frame counts are far more important, I just don't think it's that big of a deal under about a 3 frame window. Even on the occasional moment that I drag out my fight stick to play a fighter, the P50's input lag hasn't been much of an issue (though LAN play might be a different story). And nah, I don't do any streaming.
