No advantage. It’s a new streaming service from Apple with its own original content. A new competitor to those, besides the also new upcoming streaming services Disney+ and HBO Max. Streaming is becoming a crowded marketplace.

It would be interesting if a good portion of the iTunes library is included in ATV+ with Dolby vision versions available. Then with that and Disney+ we would have a brilliant DV library

Don’t get your hopes up. iTunes is separate from TV+. It’s like Amazon Video vs. Amazon Prime.

Remember you won't be able to play Apple's Atmos content over ARC because of the way it is encoded (LPCM MAT). DD+ 5.1 plays fine.

Yea I don't have an atmos system so I don't have to worry about that.

You might want to check on some of the later P model Owner threads to see if this is happening with other Vizio 120 Hz panels. If so the chances of a fix are probably higher. Also keep tagging @VizioService

@VizioService

I have noticed too that since the latest firmware Clear action on Game mode will cause the screen to flash every few seconds

Also, am I nuts or did SDR and HDR modes on the same input used to maintain separate brightness settings? Now they are tied together so I have to manage it when going between modes with my xbox

Has anyone lost CEC with the latest update? I've never really had any issue with it working with my Onkyo TX-NR787, but I noticed shortly after the firmware update that the receiver was no controllable through the TV volume control. I've had a recent receiver firmware upgrade as well, so it could be that ...

As long as the AVR is connected to HDMI 1 you shouldn't have any issues, that seems to be the one HDMI port that is the most consistent for cec. Try the following in order:

Check for AVR firmware update. Confirm cec control is enabled on receiver. Toggle if necessary.

Toggle cec off on tv > soft power cycle (reset and admin) > device discovery.
See if your AVR shows up and allows for cec control. If yes, stop. If no, continue >
Reseat HDMI cable and try again.
Try new HDMI cable.

Factory reset TV
Factory reset AVR.

Still no luck? Then one of the firmwares has broken cec control and you'll have to contact the respective customer support and let them blame the other device for the fault:')

Or just buy a universal remote since relying on CEC is super buggy and inconsistent.

DAZN with Alexa

@VizioService

The instructions for using Alexa with Vizio says
Alexa Lunch <APP> on <Device>

How can I launch DAZN App?

It works with Netflix, youtube but doesn't with DAZN
Alexa does not seem to know about DAZN

Thanks

Thanks for that.

Interestingly (or perhaps not), the first thing I tried after reading your suggestions was to disconnect power from the receiver and plug it back in again. CEC now works

This is the first time I've had any trouble with it, by the way. I do know that many complain about it, but it's always worked fine for me ... up until this point.

I have never had those kinds of CEC issues. My main issue is my Vizio SB3651-e6 will randomly turn off. I will be watching content and the sound just stops. The fix is even weirder. I have to push the volume down button on the TV remote first and then volume up. A few seconds later it will turn back on. I have tried talking to Vizio about this, but all of the possible fix suggestions have not worked. My long since sold Vizio 2.1 setup behaved the same way. I will no longer be buying Vizio products in the future. Reliable basic functionality should not have these kinds of issues.

I have the same surround sound system paired with a P65-C1 and I had the exact same problem - except mine also turned on randomly as well. Usually very loudly in the middle of the night (that was always fun). I contacted Vizio a while back, they sent me a new sound system as a replacement.

The weird thing is that the new unit had the exact same problems as the old one but wouldn't shut off as often. It would only shut off after - say 4 hours instead of an hour and a half. It still drove me nuts though. I eventually gave up and switched the input from ARC to Optical. This solved all of my problems - I have zero issues with the SB3651-e6 using Optical. It no longer turns on or off by itself. Hopefully that is an option for you too.

Between Vizio breaking features on my TV through firmware updates, and making soundbars that don't seem to get along with TVs made by the same company, I think I am also done with Vizio at this point.

Since the latest update my Vizio keeps having HDMI handshake issues with my Denon X4400H where I will turn them ON and the Vizio reads "No Signal" on the screen. What usually works is turning the Denon OFF and then back ON. I didn't have this issue prior to the latest firmware update.

Has anyone watched Top Boy on NF via ATV4K. I am getting constant flashing on every episode. I don't see it on my 900F directly connected. Haven't tried directly connecting to my P series so might be an AVR issue. SC is registering DV but I notice my AVR is only passing RGB 50HZ 8-bit.

Now my P65-E1 refuses to output DD+ no matter what. Even with nothing hooked up to it it says Audio Type DD+, Type Out DD. Just factory reset, same problem.

Edit- Nevermind, it just came back. ARC is a real pain. We can only hope eARC is better but I have my doubts. lol

I am right there with you on this. My Vizio SB3831-D0 will not connect to the app at all. It randomly turns itself off after minimal lack of activity. If I pause something and run to the restroom and come back, the sound will play but the soundbar will inevitably shut itself off after a few minutes because it experienced a break from continuous output prior. Drives me nuts. As much as I have enjoyed M2016 P series, it is just not worth playing in Vizio's sandbox anymore, IMO. I wish they still supported the tablet emotes as that was def ahead of it's time but their smartcast app and built in OS drive me nuts. I have a Roku Premier + but shouldn't have to had to purchase one when the tablet should have worked but cast drops the connection at time. it wil continue to play the content on the screen but the app will no longer show casting (looking at you netflix) forcing you to close the app and relaunch.

Audio/ARC is really screwed up with this 7.X firmware. I tried setting "bitstream" and lost Atmos capability (zero audio). Setting Audio to "Auto" returned Atmos. Previous firmware was never this finicky. Me thinks the firmware updates aren't really designed for 2016 &17 P series sets. @VizioService any comments or updates?

So I've been looking around, but haven't been able to find a recent answer:

Does the P50-C1 support Google Play Movies casting in 4K/HDR?

Not sure what changed but it’s something with the TV. I can turn the tv on with CEC but for the past couple of months, it won’t turn off via CEC. This was never an issue before. Tried all the ricks. Have not done a factory reset as it’s Calibrated and don’t feel like losing that. What did Vizio break? I have to use the remote to turn it off. FWP I know. It’s really annoying. All firmware is up to date.

4K only, no HDR from Google Play or YouTube. The C series can’t do HDR from VP9.2 which they use.
