I am happy to do some comparisons before I return my 65JS850D to the P65 if anyone is interested tonight after I pick it up. What I am wondering though is what is my best comparison source and what would people be interested in finding out?

Pretty sure you said you were in Minneapolis. Which BB did you pick yours up at? I only see the 65s in the warehouse on BB. I live in Plymouth.

That is what I thought. Since I will only use it with my TV, I only need the vizio app.

It may be hard to compare apples to apples but really just compare the same scenes from the same movies....especially night scenes. I will be doing the same with a JS8500 and this set.

Inventory has definitely already become constrained in Minnesota for the P75 and P65. Less stores have them though.

So far the P75 looks very tempting. Has anyone had a chance to check out how blu-rays look on this set? Also, haven't really seen FALD in action. Does this feature result in crushed blacks and loss of shadow detail in darker, but not completely black scenes?

Thanks.

Someone mentioned the D series, here is as close as I can come,to what Thomas showed. Notice at least on my picture, where it says tom and charlize they are not white on the screen but tan, the camera for some reason
is recording them as white. However the other printing you see is white.
58D. Your also going to see daytime reflections, backlight at 100.

Quite a big difference compared to the P picture I've seen but there is also a pretty big price difference too.

If any of the current (and future) buyers are migrating from a Samsung HU series with SEK, I would greatly appreciate your firsthand impressions comparing the two, especially regarding the color accuracy and motion handling. I fully expect the Vizio P to be better with respect to black levels and dimming; it's the other aspects I'm not 100% sold on.

I can probably still get $2K+ on the used market for my 75HU8550 + SEK + Video pack, which would make either the P65 a zero cost move or cut the cost for a P75 in half.

Thanks.

Watching Skyfall bluray using my K8500 UHD player connected to the P75. The latter part of the film is "shadow detail" reference material. The P75 is awesome.

The reflections are making the screen look hazy to the camera, but the screen is really inky black.

This seems very promising. i have the 65 HU8550 and been for a while considering the 65 JS9500 for a second TV. This P release is making me reconsider (fald, DV, HDR10)! heck i may even get the 75. I think I will wait a bit for more reviews and for other releases, i.,e., Sharp, TLC, Heisense etc.

I don't believe you can use this for the P-Series Display (have to remind myself not to call it a TV). But, Matt mentioned in the other thread:

I second this sentiment.

I'd LOVE to see some live video of the set in action. I found an unboxing video of the P75 on YouTube, but no real "off the cuff" review kindsa things.

I'm trying to absorb all I can on this TV, as I've been waiting for it a long time!

Anyone wanna post some video of it in action!?

Ya, that is what I meant, just trying to figure out what to use as a source? Netflix Daredevil? That would be available on both... I don't want to use mad max for example where it will have Dolby vision on the P and not on the JS, kind of unfair.

The D series is a great deal. the one my friend has is the 65" 16 zone version and it performed well...try taking a pic with the menu gone, that extra blooming should be gone. Honestly, the FALD is so great, I would never buy another set without it...

The P75, yes. It's big and 104 pounds. P65 isn't going to be much lighter or less cumbersome.

Maybe just standard blu rays. Not sure what you all have in your collection but

Avatar, No Country for Old Men(desert scene). Can't think of any dark scene movies off the top of my head but and hd feed of your local news.(Close up of faces and skin tones)
