I have a window behind my tv so there is noway to do a wall mount, also I don't really want to put holes in the walls for a tv. Kinda sucks so many new tvs are coming with a these type of legs.

Can anyone confirm this tv will passthrough DD 5.1 and/or DTS 5.1 over the optical output? I plan to use the P65 with a Sonos soundbar and surround setup.

I read the first page and searched but did not see anything definitive.

Thanks

I would need another separate stands to hold all my electronics. Guess one big deal is throwing away a perfectly good 72inch tv stand I paid 600 for just couple years ago. I'm still contemplating waiting for the 70inch sharp. Right now I'm using a 40inch samsung from my bedroom in my mancave, just watched Everest on it... it was awful.

I may be wrong, but I think DD is the best you can get with optical (i.e. no DTS).

Is this a bug on PC input only? I play lots of movies from my htpc, so proper pulldown is very important. I thought this kind of stuff got fixed in 8 years ago, when I got my plasma.

Question for anyone here that has had one of these displays delivered by BB, did they set up the display or just bring the box into the house and if given the choice what did you do?
The reason I ask is I've never had BB deliver anything and the last display I had delivered was a replacement from Samsung and I almost had a heart attack watching the delivery guys unbox and set it up. So much so I had to jump in and take over while they watched. Any feedback on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Should work for me as long as it passes DD 5.1, my sources are ATV4 and XBox1, was just looking to confirm. Figured DTS was long shot but doesn't hurt to ask.

Appreciate the response.

My P75 is being delivered by Best Buy tomorrow, supposedly. If I read it correctly, I saw that the agreement was that they would assist you in putting it on your console, if needed...

While I picked this set up myself, I have purchased from best buy before. They will do whatever you want. They will unbox it, attach the legs, put it where you want, and take the box away with them. If you want them to just leave it, they will do that to. They will have you sign something saying it is not damaged, so I would have them set it up and plug it in with them still there.

For some reason if you do not want it within the return window not having the box does not matter. They will send someone out to pick the set up.

Maybe... but coming from a 55'' the idea of a truly huge screen-meaning 70'' or bigger-is almost equally as appealing as a jump in PQ + HDR/4K/10bit/Dolby Vision. I told myself when I'd upgrade I wouldn't go less than 70'' and if the P series had such a set I'd get it 100%. Right now I'm stuck between M/P series for this reason, since there's no way I can afford the 75''. The Sharp doesn't have Dolby Vision which scratches that off my list.

Maybe I'll just give up and wait until 2017...

Network Speed Problems

Anybody else test their network speeds yet? I have the P65, hooked up to an ethernet connection. I'm getting download speeds between 18-19 Mbps. I have a 200 Mbps connection. I hooked my macbook up to the same ethernet jack and was immediately pulling 200 Mbps+. (I was getting similarly low speeds when I tried the P65 over wireless... 17-18 Mbps).

Are the network controllers on the P series shoddy? That's a pretty pathetic connection speed. I'd like some input from others. You can test under Network settings.

Yes, they unpack it, put the legs on, plugged in the power cord and ethernet cable, put it in my entertainment niche and made sure it powered on.

My P75 is ordered. I'm meeting my installer today to redo some wiring and get prepped for Atmos. Set my delivery for ~3 weeks from now to get the other work done and make sure I'm confident on the buy.
I am sitting a little less than 8' away so the 80" was a bit too big to begin with. I do notice a slight reduction in size but I am a firm believer that PQ should outweigh size in almost every case. I don't think 5" should be a determining factor for you especially in the 75" and over category. If we were talking 65" to 70" it might be a harder decision.

Same here, it's weird though. Netflix 4k DV Marco Polo comes pretty crisp though. I got a external hard drive coming today, hoping that allows for a higher bit rate when re-watching Mad Max.

Yeah you will need to wait for the M series, or a really, really, really, good sale on the 75" P series

Or you can move your seating position forward a little and get the 65".

Well, we might have found the first serious problem with this TV. You can't stream 4k content effectively and reliably at a connection speed of less than 20 Mbps.

Any other testers?

I have similar results showing up - normally get around 60 Mbps up and down and the TV is showing 21. I read a few posts by other Visio owners (for this and previous models) that you should not trust the speeds shown by the TV. I have no issues streaming anything so I don't worry about it.

Early in this thread many people mentioned the speed test apps on TVs are trash and not accurate. Everyone who has solid internet has had no problem streaming 4K HDR

Maybe this is an option. I bought this and will install it tomorrow on the p55. Another AVS member (cec68?) suggested it.

Bonus - if you live in the Twin Cities area you can pick it up as they are located in Burnsville. You would call to order it in this case.
