it shows that date but if you put it in your cart and select instore pickup it will show a sooner date. Or at least in my case it did

I placed the order this morning and it said the 29th after adding to the cart and checking out it changed to the 24th.

I then have to call and arrange and pickup and then they will refund me the amount I paid including the tax minus any shipping (thankfully I had free shipping).

If the P65 really is recalled I am afraid I might have to jump brands because my girlfriend is coming back from over seas this weekend to visit for a month and we love to watch movies and I'd hate to go back to watching on a 40" TV while I wait for this to all shake out.
This is a dang shame since I just bought the P65 two weeks ago. This is really disappointing to read and I hope this works out for you. I'm going to check with Vizio to see if there is a recall on mine.

He said the recall was specifically due to the yellow band maybe "recall" isn't really the right word, but he was surprised to hear me quote Best Buy giving delivery dates so I think it's more a recall of all unsold models. If you don't have any visible issues with the set I wouldn't worry about it.

Mine was one of the more aggressive ones that were bottom heavy and really obvious mixed in with some other banding. I played Journey on PS4 for the first time last week and the bright sand levels just really highlighted everything wrong with my set, beautiful game otherwise.

I ordered a P-75 in Oregon last week and the earliest delivery date was July 22nd.

Oddly though, the order shows as "In Progress" for status and my credit card was debited straight away - not just a hold, all of it taken.

Do all new TV's go through these famine periods where you can't get them or is it just a Vizio thing?

Wow guess I dodged a bullet I held off on a P65 a month. Still planning on purchasing it after July 4th hopefully everything is resolved.

What is the current status of the HDR10 update? I suppose it's relevant now that the Xbox One S is coming out and able to support it for games.

How to start a rumor!

Vizio is going into Chapter 11.

Oh, wait a minute. I'm not sure that I have accurate or well defined information. Don't worry.

I am trying to determine if I can get a P65 in my vehicle.

Would someone please confirm the box dimensions for a P65 and P55. These are the measurements, rounded up to the nearest inch, from Vizio's site of the boxes:

P-65 68 X 39 X 9
P-55 59 x 33 x 9

It doesn't happen often, but it happens enough to bother me. Its happened on live TV, and also while gaming on HDMI 1 and 5. My question is.. is this a known issue, something that could be fixed via firmware update? or is the hardware defective.

Overall I really like the TV and don't want to exchange it if this issue could be sorted out. I've contacted Vizio already, and they offer nothing in response other than power cycle, and factory reset.

Thanks guys.
Those sound like classic streaming or HDMI issues. I doubt this is a hardware problem.

Your Vizio rep was simply horribly misinformed. I PM'd and tweeted @Matt McRae specifically about the "yellow band" issue and he told me that all that Vizio has seen is normal production variance and they haven't made any production or design changes on the P-series to date to address the yellow band. He also added that the displays coming off the line are "looking really good."

I think some minor yellow banding is normal for this particular display. Something about the design or the way they're assembled just makes it so. If you can't see it in normal viewing, who cares? Obviously there are some sets (like yours, @reallynotnick ) that have banding that's clearly outside of the acceptable limits, but for the most part, this issue is getting blown out of proportion.

Agreed! I will gladly trade my good 65 inch for a "defective" yellow banded 75 inch (which is probably still good)....haha....one can dream.

Just as another datapoint, Vizio support both emailed me and called to leave a message today to "schedule a warranty replacement" for my P65. I haven't had a chance to call back and plan to do so tomorrow, but this doesn't sound at all like they are only accepting returns. Must be a few rouge support folks out there.

I don't see any posting about a P65 recall though so not sure if he was incorrect, I'm blind, or it's going to be posted soon.

Unfortunately they said all they could do for me is a return as they didn't know if they were going to make any more of these, "it could be until Christmas". So I guess unfortunately it is going back... I'm pretty sad to see it go, but the uniformity on mine has been noticeably bad in regular content. It's a shame too as there really isn't any other TV out there with a feature set like this Vizio, so I'm kind of at a loss for what to do after they take this guy away.

Try shoman's settings with the backlight turned up , and all color settings plus 2 , apart from blues .
Turn them minus 2 .
